Love the game! Had a blast playing. Finally reached the end for me, can't recommend it enough! PS. I dislike the mage only gripe lol 7.2/10 Video Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szW4CchimXs Playthrough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7BM3LFPZ2I
Simple, but fun game. Has a lot of replay value through your ability to create new builds of weapons as you level them up + increasing difficulties.
A really good Survivors-like game with a solid gameplay loop and good replayability. Probably a good 5-10 hours to see all the content (various weapons and the evolutions, stages, and classes). I'd estimate at least 20-30 hours to accomplish everything. Stages thus far (I've only unlocked 3) seem fixed at 20 minutes at the longest so it makes for solid bite sized chunks of play. The most unique factor in this game (IMO) is the rank system for weapons which allows you to customize what benefits the weapons get at certain levels of upgrade. Common rank options tend to be things like damage, cooldown reduction, or size of attack. Uncommon upgrades cost more to unlock but tend to be stronger or offer additional functionality. Rare upgrades tend to change how the weapon plays (for instance a rare axe upgrade turns it from a swing attack to a spin attack). If I were to rate things: Graphics - 3/5 - servicable, wont hurt your eyes and you can distinguish different bosses and enemies. Pixel art style is good, but not really award winning now a days. Gameplay - 5/5 - The roguelike mechanics of earning resources in gameplay and unlocking new abilities and powerups is overall well designed. WIth a standout unique mechanic (at least to me) in the weapon rank system. Sound - 3/5 - Look I am not an audiophile AT all, i have overall poor hearing. The audio seemed good to me, but audio almost never stands out to me unless it is bad or obnoxious. Plays well with a controller, I did not try to play this with mouse/keyboard. But I look for these games to play with a controller as it is more relaxing for me that way. Overall ranking: 4/5 What could be done in a future sequel or expansion? I think I might prefer art closer to a Link to the Past than the level it is at currently, bit hard to say how to make the art better without changing the total look. Gameplay wise - more classes would be cool, more weapons, or rank options on the weapons. Class Ideas - Tinkerer/mechanic - traps, bombs, explosives, Unique mechanic - scrap, collecting enough scrap and hitting a button unleashes an effect, perhaps modified by the weapons chosen Necromancer - summon minions / dark magics, collecting body parts from dead enemies and minions fills a gauge and summons a powerful minion that decays over time Race Idea: Green Orcs normal Red Orcs do more damage, and take more damage Yellow Orcs, Faster (moves speed, attack speed) with a larger collection radius, but take a little more damage, and deal less damage Blue Orcs take reduced damage and HP Regen faster/stronger, but have a smaller collection radius and slower move speed.
Very Cool Game !
Perfectly reasonable survivors-like with incredibly grindy late-game achievements that really overstayed their welcome (25 runs per zone plus an awful lot of walking). Still fun for the most part. First 10 hours were really good.
Really fun VS clone. Manages to stick out in a sea of those type games. Game play feels balanced and a ton of things to unlock. For five bucks only it feels like a real treat
This game was a pleasant surprise! Really enjoyable game with great feedback loops + metaprogression. So far, I'm enjoying it more than some of the big players in this genre, though I'm not sure how "deep" this one will get.
Cute and fun! Gameplay and enemies feel more dynamic than others in the genre
One of the better games in this genre. There are a lot of fun synergies and progression. It's worth giving a shot for sure.
Fun little game, always adding bug fixes and new aspects to the game.
