Mars has been colonized, and Earth's corporate titans fight to dominate this new market. Competition is fierce in this fast-paced economic RTS from Civilization IV Lead Designer, Soren Johnson.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Sep 7 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

FRANTIC SPEED. Computer levels up their HQ within 20 seconds. I can't even scroll the map that fast. This could have been a game with nuanced strategy, but it's absolutely ruined by the ridiculous speed. Why do developers think a game needs lightning twitch reaction times to be fun? Unless you already have hundreds of hours playing and understanding every nuanced mechanic, there is no time to think. CLICK CLICK CLICK TOO SLOW YOU LOSE. Yes you can pause in single-player. That just removes the RTS aspect completely. Why make an "RTS" that you have to pause to have any chance at playing?
Honestly the game is just too hard for me. I get the feeling the appeal for this game is more focused on seasoned RTS players who want a fast paced game to compete in. I prefer my strategy games a bit more laid back and forgiving.

I'm pretty new to the game with only about 15 hours played, in a lot of games that would give you enough knowledge to win against AI pretty easily. But if you play against AI (there aren't many live people to play against) 90% of games just end abruptly no matter how good you are doing, AI will suddenly buy you out even if the AI's stock was low and it was in last place. The game is deep in the sense that there are a bunch of different strategies and all are pretty effective, but I think that's the problem - you can end a game quickly once you get enough money and the AI knows exactly how to do it once it sees that it can with all available resources (and there's no way to see that coming). In a normal game, you wouldn't just sell everything to buy someone out because it would put you in a place to lose the game later.. so one of the AI basically suicides itself to take you out out every game even to it's own detriment. So basically it's a don't buy at this point, without any player opponents. I enjoyed it a bit when it first came out, and then recently tried to play again but even doing well I couldn't even get close to being 2nd place in a game because one of the AI snipes you pretty quickly.
I loved this game back in 2017 and have discovered it again in 2023. Always delivers!
It's rare that I would describe a game as heart-pounding, and crazy on its face to say that about an RTS with no combat, yet here we are. OTC presents a scenario in which you have to make endless snap decisions about how to make money, hedge risk, and take advantage of your opponents' failures to do the same. I would have wished for much clearer tutorials, and the graphics aren't going to revolutionize the industry, but those things aren't deal breakers. The soundtrack truly makes this game what it is, ramping up in intensity and aggressiveness as a playthrough reaches its apex. No exaggeration, I pound my fist on the table and trash-talk the AI every time I win. It's that fun.
The game is well made although I don't understand why it is as popular as it is. Once you figure out how things actually work, which isn't easy by the way, the game plays out the same way pretty much every time.
i've played this game for years with both my tablet and computer. you are in charge of that planet's economics. it is really interesting and has the best music. there are different scenarios to choose from.
This is a fantastic game. I’m a huge fan of economic and business-strategy titles, and frankly, there just aren’t many great ones out there. This one is truly unique. It’s fast-paced, highly competitive, and incredibly engaging. No two games ever play the same—not even close. Every match demands constant vigilance, analysis, forecasting, and quick decision-making. The pace can be intense, but in all the right ways. Depending on the speed settings, I can finish a full game in anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, which is perfect for me. It’s challenging, creative, and unlike anything I’ve played in my 45 years of gaming. If you love business, economics, and pure strategic competition, this is easily one of the best experiences you can have.
Offworld Trading Company proves that Soren Johnson still sees three moves ahead while most strategy games are stuck copying the last one. No combat, no armies... just cutthroat economics, real-time manipulation, and the cold joy of buying your enemies out from under them. It’s lean, brutal, and elegant. Every resource you touch is part of a living market...one you can quietly exploit or blow wide open. Prices swing, black market deals backfire, and sabotage becomes your second language. The humor is dry, the pace is crisp, and the graphics hit that perfect balance...clear, stylized, and easy to parse mid-chaos. It makes you feel like a CEO in a Martian corporate war room, not just play one. This is the RTS I didn’t know I needed until it rewired how I think about winning. Rating: 9.5/10 Smart. Fast. Savage. Nothing else like it.
