Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Aug 24 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Occupy Mars is a technical, open-world sandbox, survival game about Mars colonization inspired by the most promising technologies and companies that are working towards the goal of humanity becoming a multi-planet species.
Explore different regions of Mars while searching for valuable resources, discover mining sites, and find the best place to build a city. Remember that you need to find a relatively leveled area with good access to underground water in a place where temperatures don't drop too much during the night.

Build and upgrade your base, craft equipment, mine resources, produce water, oxygen and food, explore an open world, and repair complex machinery in a technical survival sandbox.

Manage your energy production and build your electricity grid. Make sure that there is enough water, oxygen, power, and food to survive.

Fix broken parts using realistic electronic components and tools. Learn the basics soldering, using hot air, measurement tools, and all the details necessary to fix your equipment.

Upgrade your vehicles and equipment in your garage. Organize your workshop and modify your rover. Change crane hydraulics, operate the robotic arm, dig for valuable resources, build mining rigs, and more...

Build greenhouses, oxygen tanks, fuel generators, connect all the pipes and cables, and remember about proper cable management. Grow your own food.

Experience an open-world sandbox game with a realistic day/night cycle and overcome real challenges that colonists face. Build solar arrays and batteries for energy storage, upgrade them, and find the optimal way to power your colony.

Occupying Mars is not always easy. Sometimes things will explode, break or not go exactly as planned. Learn to cope with "Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly.” Sometimes you have to really act quickly before you run out of air, food, or energy.

...but most importantly HAVE FUN on Mars!

A fejlesztések is érdekessek. A játék minden aspektusa nagyon hangulatos és élvezetes. Ezek a felsorolt mechanikák akár különáló jétékként is megálnák a helyüket. Szerintem az akinek tettszett a SUBNAUTICA, annak ez a játék is tettszeni fog.

I like the game , however the rover mechanics sucks. after a few saves the rover glitches out. has the trailor directly under neath of it. even by pressing the -r- button , rover does not reset then freezes game. damages circuit board etc. dont even want to play it now. have reinstalled several times ,and think its all good , then boom glitched. is there any patches for this ? *******update******* Last hot patch seemed to have corrected vehicle mechanics. Has had stable play since restart. and enjoying much better.
The game is not easily recommendable at the current state, it is a bit unstable; when first starting it up, it had problems even loadig the menu screen, with a "occupy mars has crashed" white screen as a result, luckily, after some time, I was able to start up a save (I do not recall changing any significant setting for it to work though). Combined with the loading screen problems, it was a surprise to learn that when (unfortunately) the character dies, there isn't a "respawn", but rather, you have to reload the latest save (as a reminder, reloading takes quite a lot of time, with the probability of crashing), and the reason for it may be immersion, as a real astrounaut doesn't get to respawn; for that exact reason, it could be much prefered to either have a toggleable "respawn or die and reload" setting or if reloading was to be mandatory, to have an autosaving feature every "x" minutes, as manually saving is a thing I never remember to do :'). In addition, the "driving part" of the game is quite bugged, as an example, when driving in 3rd person, I've experienced significant fps drops (from about 50 fps to an average of 10), or when driving the Marstruck over small rocks, it will "jump" (like 5 meters) into the air. Another optimization issue might as well be the amount of resources the game takes from the pc (close to 100% gpu AND cpu) to deliver pretty low performance (40 fps average). Yes, I'm using an Nvidia 1080, an "old" card, but I still get about 70 to 100 fps in other games, while using 70 to 80% of the gpu, albeit other games I play do have bigger developer teams dedicated entirely to the optimization. Overall, the idea for this game is fantastic, I've been searching quite a long time for an immersive "martian colonization experience" such as this one, but if you decide to purchase it, think of it as a "still in early access"even though it says 1.0.x, since that makes much more sense, as it still needs exigent work, and even in the current state, I do see a bright future for Occupy Mars. It is not unexpected that in a future 1.1 (or earlier, who knows), this review will be much different, that said, I still only recommend this game to people comfortable with an early access experience on a 1.0 release. Even with all its problems I want to thank the Pyramid Games developers for the work that is being done, as I have been able to practically see daily (or at least weekly) community updates and much needed hotfixes for the game.
--Updated 3/10/26 @ 5:40p PST on Version 1.0.14--
Overall Rating: 3/5

Summary:
* Scroll down for detailed analysis Overall - A solid option for folks seeking a survival-crafting game based on Mars. Must be OK dealing with some bugs (they are actively working on), a sometimes clunky UX, and a bit too many abandoned structures to keep full immersion. The game still feels unfinished, with what seem to be stubs of as-yet not implemented features and plenty of opportunity for polish. Stability has improved, and still needs further investment. Gameplay is generally fun, if a bit tedious and clunky at times in UI and UX, and the world "feels" like Mars if you can suspend disbelief with so many abandoned bases littering the planet.
Personal Note
Despite the current flaws and UX issues, the game is enjoyable. For me, it scratches that itch to "feel" like I'm on Mars better than most alternatives I've found to date. My focus when playing survival crafting games is typically in Co-Op play, so I very much appreciate Pyramid Games adding that as a feature since Early Access. I've played their Co-Op mode for hours with my son, and we've both really enjoyed the experience of building our base and exploring together. I hope to continue to enjoy the game for many more hours. I also appreciate the level of involvement and humility Pyramid has shown with the playerbase, feedback, and what seems to be a sincere desire to deliver a solid, engaging, and fun experience that is rooted in realistic science and real locales on the Red Planet. I don't expect perfection, and I applaud the fact that they haven't simply chosen to move on to the next project as so many other studios choose to after full release.

Detailed breakdown

Functionality = 3.75

Depth & Systems: 4/5
Solid depth of features, technical and survival mechanics, including realistic power grids and water systems, electrical engineering, oxygen and food management, resource gathering and mining, driving and vehicles, and mapping systems.
Gameplay Loop: 3/5
Core loop involves resource gathering, base building and maintenance, upgrading a complex tech tree by performing actions (grinding, gathering, crafting) and discovering blueprints via 'Abandoned Tablets" and "pen drives" in ruins and crash sites. Exploration gets repetitive, and there is little variety in design of abandoned bases which makes the mid-late game feel like a grind.
Challenges: 4/5
Primarily involves survival elements, such as cold temperatures, food and water needs, meteor showers, sand storms, and dust devils. There is also the option of permanent death, for those who want a less forgiving experience. The survival mechanics can feel overbearing, especially in the early game, but that can be mitigated with mods if it matters greatly to you as a player.
Multiplayer: 4/5
Includes a Co-Op mode which allows public and private games where friends can colonize Mars together. There is, however, no way to join an active game (or I have not yet discovered it).
Usability = 2.3
*This is the game's weakest point. At times it can be very unintuitive, clunky, and immersion-breaking.
Interface (UI/UX): 2/5
-- Immersion vs utility : The player has a Tablet which is used to interact with tech tree, knowledge base, and other intangible in-game systems, and the HUD mimics a spacesuit helmet. That said, it can feel cluttered at times with too many gauges and readouts (batter, internal & external O2, stamina, hunger, etc.) -- Inconsistency : Vital UI elements, such as clock and temperature, disappear when the helmet is removed, which can lead to avoidable deaths. The Chemistry tech tree in the Tablet appears to function like the other 4 categories, however players must use the Chemlab to unlock tech, which is rather unintuitive. -- Interaction friction : Control mapping is often unintuitive; f.ex the same button may drop an ditem or use a tool depending on the context, leading to easier errors. There are also often multiple steps to perform frequently used actions; for example when mining (drilling) rocks on-foot, you cannot pick up resources while still holding your drill. Command Console - At this time, there is no developer or command console to allow single/solo players to tune their experience without mods.
Onboarding / Learning Curve: 3/5
The game's tutorial is incredibly long, on the order of 1.5 hours and does not sufficiently explain survival mechanics and all gameplay systems. That is made up for, to a degree, with a series of new tutorial videos the player can access through the Tablet and several devices/workbenches in-game. Co-Op mode skips that lengthy tutorial.
Accessibility: 2/5
Offers partial controller support, but the frequent need to interact with menus makes keyboard and mouse the clear preference for most players. There are options for adjusting color contrast and text size. You can remap controls to suit your needs, and the game offers various difficulty settings to give a range of options. Interactive tutorials have also been introduced. More options for low-sighted players, click-to-toggle (replacing click-and-hold mechanics), and full controller support with full remapping would go a long way to making the game accessible to a wide range of players.
Reliability = 4.0

Stability: 4/5
After additional stabilization patches, the crash rates have been reduced significantly. While Pyramid has clearly invested in bug-fixing, it still suffers from some game-breaking bugs and usability issues.
Save Integrity: 5/5
Past issues with save-corruption seem to be resolved, and auto-save features work as-expected. It is still recommended to create backup saves, just in case.
Glitching: 3/5
Physics and terrain bugs still exist, buildings may sometimes disappear, and vehicles may float away. There are still sometimes frequent nonsensical or poorly timed in-game messages.
Performance = 2.5

Optimization: 2/5
FPS drops are not uncommon; in particular during terrain generation and structure and interactable loading or when receiving UI notifications. This is less severe on high-end graphics cards, but this is arguably the game's second weakest point nonetheless.
Hardware Needs: 3/5
The game uses the Unity engine, and with it's current implementation tends to run rather poorly on systems with less than 8GB of VRAM. This means that the average mid-range system (typically with 6-8GB of VRAM) might struggle to provide smooth or even playable experiences.
Supportability = 3.3

Developer Investment: 4/5
Pyramid is clearly actively working on bug-fixes and continues to update their game post-release of their "Full Version". That said, the duration between patches and stability fixes could be shorter, which may go a long way toward reducing player pain and improving sentiment (currently rather mixed).
Modding: 3/5
The game supports 3rd-party mods via Nexus Mods/Vortex, allowing players to tweak and customize their experience and alter gameplay and features. Opening the field to more modding platforms or options could greatly enhance the extensibility of the game.
Platform Support: 3/5
Primarily support Windows. Can also support Linux/Steam Deck using Proton Experimental as a compatibility layer, but other reviewers have expressed mixed results.
Sandbox is not ready for play yet. the game crash everytime i try it.
Not very user friendly but not bad. Had to reload the tutorial because I failed to empty the wastetank without dropping it somewhere I could not pick it up. Got bored. Skipped the tutorial. Had a hard time figuring out some stuff. Started building. Killed myself with my airlock. Twice. Stopped playing. Overall a very decent start.
Extremeyl laggy and buggy game. Quite low quality to be honest. Even the movement is probably the worst I've seen in any WASD game.
