About
You are a robot sent to a planet to set up a system to make it habitable for your creators:
Design factories run by drones.
Create bases to craft and shelter in.
Upgrade your abilities and terraform to expand the area you can explore. You have both a health and charge meter that can get heavily upgraded over time.
Set up systems to monitor storms and deploy resources to protect buildings in their path.
Build out a skybase that houses a data center and launches rockets.
Discover and grow various plants and stabilize the climate to make the planet habitable. Watch as the visibility increases to reveal your creation and the planet transforms dramatically from a barren to lush environment.
Create systems to mine and process materials in automated pipelines. Configure drones to easily handle the logistics.
Skyformer’s automation is different from that of similar games. Resource deposits provide an infinite supply of resources, but as you get further into the game it challenges and rewards you for utilizing the production rates that you have and the entire map the best that you can. At the same time, it keeps calculations straightforward with simple ratios and round numbers. There are also quality of life features that make it easy to understand what's going on; you can come back to old saves and quickly pick up where you left off.
The processed materials allow you to create and run a system that controls the climate, tracks the weather, and terraforms the planet. As you terraform, the planet becomes more capable of producing weather systems, some of which being quite destructive. This game has a dynamic weather system that interacts with the geography, producing microclimates in each region based on the current global climate.
Changing the climate of the planet can allow access to previously inhospitable regions, but can also do the opposite. Observing the weather and how the geography influences it is important to surviving the terraforming process. A blend of strategies can be used to survive storms, such as building up an expansive automated drone defense system, strategically positioning buildings, or simply maximizing the power of your tools and taking storms head-on. The energy produced by the storms can also be harnessed!
The goal of the game is to achieve a climate that maximizes biomass across each region, and stabilize the atmosphere to the point at which storms are no longer destructive.
Skyformer is a debut game made with passion with both the game engine and all the art handmade by one developer over several years. It's being worked on intensely to 1.0 in 2026!

Everyone likes to talk about "hours per dollar" for entertainment, but how about "hours per megabyte"? This game is incredibly small! Half a gig for 20-40 hours?!? And looks great! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, clouds and sunbeams... Getting caught in a storm! Invigorating gameplay, different from the rest. Very good FPS. I bet this game could play on a calculator. Ain't no bugs. Everything works. This game is great. So refreshing that I don't have to make "Science Packs" and research assemblers... Just get the ore going and use it! The weather aspect is great. Can almost feel the "awe" you get when a storm comes close, the desire to run for cover. Looking at the wind you see something coming. Hear the lightning before a storm, its engrossing. I can tell a lot of attention has been put in the maps and progression feel as well. I love the ziplines too, and the look of the train of bots carrying products, if one is on top the other (zips and bots) it looks like you are at a ski resort and all the people on the lift going up the mountain! The Dev and game respect the player - with having everything unlocked, no boundaries, and no annoying tutorials. The small hint messages and guidance helps without being cumbersome. Lovin' it! Its good that the dev has it as a passion project, wanting to continue it, and showing others what you yourself want to play and what inspires them. Weather can be really cool! They must have had a good science teacher. I recently got aggravated at another indie game because it was basically shovelware - a good idea done quick and thrown away, and I don't feel this one will be the same.
An interesting game with genuine potential, but its ergonomics are a nightmare. The long, slow grind toward initial terraforming stages can feel extremely boring due to how many unnecessary clicks/stages/movements are necessary to perform basic interactions and expansion of your base. It's visually simple, which is fine, but also lacks audiovisual flare or atmosphere, feeling lofi to a fault. Day and night both feel bland, neither vibrant nor dark. Storms don't feel loud or threatening, the coastal waters feel lifeless and still, ultimately creating an atmosphere of artificial stillness and sterility beyond what is necessary to emphasise the values/reward of successful terraforming. I hope it will continue to be developed into something more intuitive and comfortable to play, and a little more atmospheric and immersive, with less clunky menus and binds, so that it can compete as it deserves with bigger projects like DSP and Satisfactory. If the game had more reviews in the first place, I'd give this a negative pending it meeting its potential, but I appreciate the active and friendly developer and do have faith they'll keep improving Skyformer, so I'll keep things positive for now.
Interesting concept, love the art style. but I'm finding it a bit frustrating to play. The playable character is a robot that starts out with limited energy. The initials miners, and factories have to be connected with a drone. The menu with the drones states that up to 40 items per minute can be connected from the miner (A) to Factory (a) which is cool! until you have to run to back to miner (a) and find out that it only produces 10 units of ore. so then the player has to run back to drone building (z) to change the route from A to B to reduce the items per minute back to 10. I didn't find this out until after making 3 miners, 5 factories, and a few geothermal plants. So having to go back and fix all the routes (after running out of drones lol) was a bit frustrating after checking all the miners, and factories, and reorganizing everything. The building menus have to be individually selected instead of having a screen that shows what the throughput is which is easily missable by a new player. wasn't able to find anything in the building menu to state that the miner produced only 10 units per minute, so the confusion led to having to go back to a chargeable platform about nine times in this process to get everything lined out. TLDR: Great concept, just needs QOL compared to other games in the genre. May revisit this one later, but for now can't recommend it.
Great game for fans of open world survival and craft games. A light version of Planet Crafter and Satisfactory with different mechanics: no food/water/sleep system, but energy you can recharge on energy tiles. The unique and cool mechanich of this game is its weather system, that evolves with the terraforming process. Terraforming unlocks access to new biomes with new resources, and you will face different weather events based on temperature, acidity, etc. The automation part is not too heavy: no math to do like in Satisfactory, no splitter/mergers, no need to have 10 factories doing the same thing. Just dots to connect. Still, the game could be better balanced. Repair blocks are too costly, and repair drones too slow, so the base and miners need high maintenance. It's also too easy to face weather events as a player: build 2 tiles, wait, deconstruct them. Also, logistics between the main base and the miner is too time consuming and requires too many back--and-forth trips: build storage for each resource including repair block, and zip line, and connect the dots manually. The drone building/view is almost useless in this situation because of its limited reach.

Amazing game so far, initial tutorial is more than enough to understand what is going on, nice path, not annoying and informative at the same time. Been having a lot of fun, tons of things to explore. Haven't touched much of the terraforming aspect yet, but it looks like there's a lot to do here. Definitely recommended game for automation lovers like myself :D
The game seems solid, its just not for me. Quality-wise its what to expect of a small game, not bad, not triple a. Gameplay wise its okay, the automation is nice from what I have seen (played for a little), though the tutorial just throws you in and you need to figure stuff out next to a vague task. I had a small problem about the charge station, due to me not knowing where to place it effectively, and when trying to deconstruct, deleting it. If you like really light automation and this feel of a game, try it out!
This game is great, and I haven't played any other factory sims. Terraforming, problem-solving, base-building, and growing plants to decorate the world as you temper the climate are all parts of this unique game. Definitely recommend it
