DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!! Initially bought this game thinking that it was cool project, but after absolutly no progress and lies from the developer. i started asking questions about the game updates. if they were really coming if any. because the game as is right now, is not playable. The developer banned me from the discussions page for asking question about when updates were coming and so on. do your self a favor and DO NOT buy this game.
IT'S A SCAM DO NOT BUY. There is no game to be played here. Updates are fake. If you raise any awareness in the discussion forum about this, you get banned. (proof below) So far it's only an engine sample where you can walk around and do literally nothing else while the graphics and the UI will constantly bug out. Nothing you see on the screenshots or the video is possible in the game. Also something happened that forced me to even update my negative review! Post from the dev: "Hey! Sorry for the bugs, but I'm working hard on a new version. Why a new version? Because will be much easier for players to understand what they need to do. So, the action from the new version will happen on the terraformed Mars. Because the atmosphere will have more oxygen and the atmospheric pressure will be close to that we have on Earth, you can build how do you want (modular building like in Rust). Will be lakes, but the water cannot be consumed directly. It will also have big storms and the temperatures will be below 0 degrees Celsius at night. No vehicles on the first update of this new version, but they will be added in January. I just don't know something.. what do you think and how do you want? With vegetation (grass, trees & others)..or without?" http://steamcommunity.com/app/498630/discussions/2/♥♥♥♥866180617735794/#c2549465882936944436 So the developer states that the game will not be played on Mars but some terraformed planet that has oxygen and water instead... Proving both the trailer and the steam store description which state there will be oxygen management are nothing but a lie. Also he will rip off Rust. There you go. I can only advise everybody who wanted a space survival on mars including harsh conditions like no-oxygen enviroments to request a refund, as i will do the same now. The post in the forum i got literally banned for:
My points are: a) The game is completely unplayable in it's current state. The steam store page says: "Some systems like 'Day&Night Cycle', 'Weather', "Crafting" are working. So, the game is playable." Which is a complete lie. You can't even collect sand to get the crafting materials you need, oxygen does not work, eating/drinking does not work, all you can do is run around and sleep (which will screw up your graphics in some cases) and i have video footage to prove it. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/210485083 b) The games was advertized as a survial game including the no-oxygen atmosphere on mars. Now it will change into some terraformed planet that even has oxygen in the atmosphere which completely screws everybody who bought the game thinking they'd be playing on no oxygen mars. Do you know what mars' atmosphere actually looks like? It contains more than 95% CO2 which will instantly cause a carbon dioxide poisoning and kill you if you if you start breathing it. So yes, people expected harsh O2 management. Then the dev claims that i'm the only person who complains about all of this. Just open the negative review page... http://steamcommunity.com/app/498630/negativereviews/?browsefilter=toprated&snr=1_5_reviews_&filterLanguage=all Enjoy. c) The dev just seems to copy ideas from other games at this point by justifying it with completely unrelated and unproven arguments Like "the game was too hard for players". Who exactly complained it was was too hard? I cannot find a single review that would back up this claim as nobody said the game was too hard in those. I can however find reviews stating that the game is unplayable in it's current state and that's why they dislike it. A game being bugged to the point where it's completely unplayable does not classify as being hard. d) Why are updates the developer claims to have made not in the game? My walking animation still drains stamina etc. The dev claims to have fixed this in a changelog but didn't.
Proof: https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/911283291289815865/272DBEB2A696169E7DCA6060E9270C8566A42D1F/ UPDATE: The developer has now confirmed that he used the steam Early Access system to pay for his college and is not intending to ever finish the game. https://steamcommunity.com/app/498630/discussions/2/1620599015913876929/#c1678064284147242974
Along the journey of the million steps to completion, there is no shame or humiliation in not having travelled a great distance, the travesty, is in asking for a toll or tribute for the tail of having barely put on your shoes. As of yet, this game has no discernible endgame, the programmer, I wont call him a developer, has not published a road map outlining the future of this game, and all the goals presented as of yet, are completely open ended. It's like the song that doesn't end, it just keeps going on forever just because, it's like the song that doesn't end... until you get tired and give up. Despite these criticisms, I don't think this is an asset flip, nor do I believe the programmer is trying to run a scam, I believe, he truly has a dream to make an interesting video game. However, he's also charging almost as much, or more, than many far more complete and interesting games on Steam. At most, this game is on par with similar properties costing $5, and with a team of what appears to be 1 lone individual, has a questionable and vaporous future. I would not recommend you buy this game, unless you consider it a gift of charity.
This game is completely unplayable in its current state. Until the programmer finally does something with it, just avoid this game all together. I really wanted to give this a good review, because it looked so promising, but I tried about 20 times to get any kind of testing done, and it either crashed, or the UI bugged out. There's not a lot to do in this alpha so far (I assume it's not even in beta yet lol). There's no survival elements yet, but they have put the foundation in for it. I can't really comment much on anything else since it was so unplayable I couldn't experience them. With how slowly this game gets updated, and the fact the programmer is still in school from what I gather, I don't expect this game to go anywhere, anytime soon. I hope that I can change this review at a later date with something more positive, but as of right now I have to say DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
Perhaps a free key to your other broken program, DIY Life (Simulator) is in order for everyone who invested their time and money into this failure of a project...
Clearly abandoned by the developer and a cash grab. How is this still allowed to be sold?
Just an update. Still a dead game. Zero updates. Zero communications. Developer said a website was coming. Back in 2017. There's still no website. No updates to the game, no info on what they have planned. Don't buy this. Please.
AWEFUL POS! Games is full of glitches and bugs! Game play is non existent, do not waste your money on this!! Additionally dont expect to get a refund, because I tried after only if you can even call it playing for 30 mins, between crashes, glitches and bugs, Steam said that the logs say I played it for more than 2 hours!! Can only assume this developer has built something into the code that keeps the game running even when you log out so that steam thinks your in game.
An interesting game, still in early developement so pretty laggy and bugged but with a lot of potential. I played this for a few hours and started to enjoy it bugs and all. There are no guides or tutorials at present but as its Early Access you cannot expect too much. Dev is a one man show so updates are few and far between, not a playable game at the moment and not much happening so unless there are some major developements over the next few weeks then this game will turn in to another early access that gets removed from my hard drive and not played again as the last update was well over a month ago and all we get from dev is that he his busy with life and cannot commit the time to make something of the game. A let down, another game idea that started to look promising but left many of us who got it early access feeling cheated out of either a potentially good game or the money we parted with to support it.
