Occupy Mars: The Game

Can i recommend this game Yes and no. First of all the game do have many nice features with a tech tree and the need to gather resources to craft and build things. I really like that you have to connect power lines, water lines and think about how many resources you use and if you have enough. Example when you grow food you want to make sure you have enough battery power to operate your base all night. So you can configure you transformers and batterys and tell it how much energy they should send to each connect location and how much it will drain things. And inside the base you also have to configure how much power and water you hydroponics can use. There are even fuse boxes.. You can also repair motherboards and its quite nice to sit there and remove electric componment and solder new ones into place.. Dont worry its not so difficult. The mars map is beautifull and the terrain look realistic and its quite varriated so it wont be to boring to explore. You really need to pay attention to the weather since you can only be outside from 9am to 8pm els it get to cold, so do not get cought outside or you wil lget hurt. The same goes with weather events from thunder storms, dust storms and magnetic storms and such. Lucky you can research an emergency lille building you can take with you and setup on longer journys. You can also get vehicles and the first one you can get almost instant on any map is a small atv rover but you need to find a small motherboard to fix it.. els you can recharge it with your solar panels. In general there are many things to build and even decorate your base. The thing i dont like about the game is that you start out with to little food. So you wil lconstant have to scavange food and drive around to get extra food until you can grow your own. The major issue is that it just take to long before you get your own food production going so personaly i had to start over 3 times now and i never managed to get any further than day 15 I have everything ready in the base, but i just die due to starvation while waiting for my plants to grow. I also find the UI a bit stupid. When you open your PDA there are arrows that should let you go back to the main menu or one step back, but it dosent work so it closes the pda every time.. I am also kind of tired of the random weather.. its beautifull and nice BUT again you need to go and look for food all the time and when there is bad weather now and then you have to stay in your base. And basicly there is nothing to do in the base in the early game, just sit and wait or sleep. its annoying. I think the above need to be adjusted so the game start become better, and also the speed of the game might need to be adjusted so that days get longer and night passes faster. Just saying we need to be able to setup a small starter base faster than today and get food production going faster.. I dont mind going exploring or salvage stuff, i just dont like to starve to death its a bit unfair and to hard of a game start.
