Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Aug 24 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Occupy Mars is a technical, open-world sandbox, survival game about Mars colonization inspired by the most promising technologies and companies that are working towards the goal of humanity becoming a multi-planet species.
Explore different regions of Mars while searching for valuable resources, discover mining sites, and find the best place to build a city. Remember that you need to find a relatively leveled area with good access to underground water in a place where temperatures don't drop too much during the night.

Build and upgrade your base, craft equipment, mine resources, produce water, oxygen and food, explore an open world, and repair complex machinery in a technical survival sandbox.

Manage your energy production and build your electricity grid. Make sure that there is enough water, oxygen, power, and food to survive.

Fix broken parts using realistic electronic components and tools. Learn the basics soldering, using hot air, measurement tools, and all the details necessary to fix your equipment.

Upgrade your vehicles and equipment in your garage. Organize your workshop and modify your rover. Change crane hydraulics, operate the robotic arm, dig for valuable resources, build mining rigs, and more...

Build greenhouses, oxygen tanks, fuel generators, connect all the pipes and cables, and remember about proper cable management. Grow your own food.

Experience an open-world sandbox game with a realistic day/night cycle and overcome real challenges that colonists face. Build solar arrays and batteries for energy storage, upgrade them, and find the optimal way to power your colony.

Occupying Mars is not always easy. Sometimes things will explode, break or not go exactly as planned. Learn to cope with "Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly.” Sometimes you have to really act quickly before you run out of air, food, or energy.

...but most importantly HAVE FUN on Mars!

I had been enjoying this game off and on for more than a year, however the 1.0 release just ruined it. The newly added Chemistry branch of the tech tree adds nothing of value, and only throws in more hoops to jump through for an already ill-conceived tech tree system. Not only do you have to earn points in each the (now) 5 tech tree branches, but progress up the tech trees were hamstringed by having to go out and find tablets in the ruins of other bases. These tablets would provide a random set of options to choose 1 to unlock. Often times, the choices offered would not be for the one thing that I desperately needed to unlock, but for technologies well beyond that low level tech that I needed just to get a foothold and start building up my base. The tech tree also wasn't very well thought out. For example, you can 3D print 'Electronics' from the start, with just some aluminum and silicon ores, yet 'circuit boards' are much further down the tech tree, but often needed, even early game. It seems like 'circuit boards' should be an earlier stage item than 'electronics', because what the heck are 'electronics' made up of, if not circuit boards? There are only 5 types of ores to mine in the game, and formed the basis of all components (at least prior to the 1.0 update and addition of Chemistry); aluminum, calcium, iron, and silicon. Prior to the chemistry update, I had been willing to give this a pass, because I thought that it was a small indy project, and I could see the justification for keeping it simple. However, for all the time that was spent implementing the Chemisty update, they would have done better to improve the basics. In the real world, aluminum is not a particularly good conductor for electronics. They would have done better to add copper as a needed resource for electrical components. Silicon, while definitely useful for electronics and synthetic rubbers and the like, is also used in the game for planting soil, which isn't realistic. You are going to grow anything in sand. Again, I had been willing to give it a pass, but instead of doing this worthless chemistry update, they could have added some other elements or a process for mixing planting soil. Calcium is abundant in the game, but not used for much of anything other than cement. However, cement is easily obtainable by dismantling the abandoned bases you'll be out scavenging. Even though the game is set at least a hundred years in the future, fuses are still used for some reason. Even though fuses have been outdated technology in buildings since the 1970s. The electrical distribution system is also never really explained. You'll be going along, building your base, and then suddenly get a burnout. You replace the fuse, and it immediately burns out again. There's no explanation of "you can only have so much energy connected from this input/junction" or anyway to know how much electricity is being drawn and when it's too much. There's a system for repairing damaged circuit boards, but it's never explained how to do it, and after more than 300 hours of gameplay, I was never able to figure it out. I would always end up just saving damaged circuit boards to through into the ore crusher when I unlocked it, to salvage their base materials. Yeah, this 1.0 release has just left me utterly disappointed, and things I had been willing to overlook are no longer getting a pass from me, if this is what they're going to waste their time implementing.

Very good game, lets you play like you like and dosent force you to follow a path
Having a multiplayer mode is great, but why isn't there a local LAN option? Every night, the server connection keeps dropping, and we experience a lot of bugs due to data desync during co-op play. For example: 1. On my screen, there is power; on the other player’s screen, there isn’t. 2. When I pick up a cable my teammate dropped, I get launched into space immediately, my character gets stuck indefinitely, and respawning doesn’t help. 3. Because of teammate lag, I couldn’t pick up ore on the ground—the ore just disappeared inexplicably. 4. The save system is especially frustrating. The next day, when trying to load our multiplayer save, it failed to load—after the loading bar finished, it said "network disconnected, please reconnect the client." I tried reloading the old multiplayer save 10 times without success, but starting a new save worked fine. 5. After building the heavy Mars rover and installing power cells and oxygen tanks, a bug occurred where the oxygen tank glowed intensely and clipped through the model. I could see the highlight from 300 meters away. After connecting the charging cable and oxygen pipe, I went to check the next day—the vehicle's ports were misaligned, and it showed no oxygen or power input. 6. While playing with my friend, severe lag and data desync happened: on my screen the dump truck was activated, but on his screen it wasn’t. This is really frustrating. I was quite looking forward to this game—I've been playing since the testing phase—and I really hope these bugs can be properly optimized.
