Was a fantastic concept until they put it on the backburner for Conan Exiles Remastered... dafuq? Waste of money at full price in its current state. I would only get this on sale, and with the understanding that this is likely now a dead game with mechanics that will never be finished. Such a disappointment.
really wanted to give this game a try cause i like the genre and the game's aesthetic, but i cannot recommend it in this state. so unoptimized that it has huge frame drops (from 80 to 10 fps) even in character customization and crashes way too frequently, sometimes even 10 mins from spawning back in from last crash.
* I only play solo *. There is a LOT of content here and a LOT of interesting things to do. Sure, the artwork is bit of a mixed bag and the new development is a bit irregular but honestly if you get past the slight jankiness you can have quite a bit of fun, especially, if you enjoy the setting and aesthetics. Just don't expect a AAA experience. Honestly, you can definitely get your moneys worth especially on sale. There's a main voice acted storyline, NPC quests, environmental puzzles, horde fights, super-sized boss fights with unique mechanics, customizable biome worlds, large maps with their own storylines, dungeon crawling, base building, resource gathering, customizable crafted armor and weapons. There are a lot of cool weapons beyond your basic survival genre offerings and are modifiable. The magic system is meaningful and useful. You can get and equip an NPC helper. The umbrella flight system really fun and the verticality of the content is really interesting and meaningful. The card system allows you to modify the game world biomes in substantial and really unique ways and gives a HUGE amount of replayability. The crafting system is interesting and really meaningful, using different materials yields different stats and effects. The worlds are large and there's a lot of enemy variety. FYI, I have had no problems with crashing or other stability problems. It is early access though. As of July 2026 this game is NOT ABANDONED, its not breakneck development speed but the updates have been substantial and gameplay related which I would not say about many other EA titles I own. Update: One thing for those deciding or on the fence. Take notice that most "Not Recommend" have very low (under 10) hours. Those with more hours are almost universally "Recommend". Because of the way the game works, I can 100% tell you those with less than 10-20 hours haven't even unlocked the first portal to another world or finished a boss dungeon. If you haven't gotten that far you have no idea what the game is about or how deep the gameplay really is. This is more of a "slow burn" progression game where you really have to put in some time. Its both the game's greatest strength and possibly its greatest weakness because it caters to those with patience and maybe too slow for for those growing up in the "Instant Action" era of gaming.
This game is really good and its got a lot of fun ideas in it, but the developers have put development on hold while they work on other projects (Conan Exiles). They have said they will return to it at some point, but anyone who plays early access survival games knows this routine - we have no idea if that will happen or not so I'd say wait untli they put out something stating that they are back to work on the game. They also haven't made this clear to people unless you go to their youtube channel and watch a video - which further makes it a bit suspect. As I said - there's a lot to love here, and the foundation they have is very playable... but I don't think you should support the development unless they start to be a little more up front about things at least, and ideally give us some sort of timeline for when work will return and so on. Relegating an update as important as "we have stopped working on this game for now" to a youtube video that you have to watch, rather than updating more clearly and making it very obvious to potential buyers feels very slimey to me.
Great science fantasy! Best crafting & combat I've ever seen in a survival game, and I've played at least 3 for over 1000 hours each. I especially loved the cooking mechanics!
This game is sick, I love how in depth the item crafting is with the different effects depending on what you make it out of. The movement and combat feel very good, among the best in any survival game. Decent follower system. I definitely hope the devs come back in full force to work on this! I will say that the multiplayer needs a lot of work though, from what I can tell, you have to be in the same realm as the people you are playing with, have to be in a party, have to share loot and followers, etc. It seems lame to have to play offline if you want to hop around different realms without being forced to stay with your party.
Very sad what happened with this game as it had such potential but the dev's have seemingly abandoned this. Updates are few and far between with little to no communication. Had such good bones to grow from had they stuck with it. I would avoid this and spend your money elsewhere.
abandonware
Game is getting no more updates and is abandoned... R.I.P. gaming industry..
Love this game, really creative and plays smooth. I haven't come across any bugs during my gameplay. I would suggest a few things; be able to have more than one respite, be able to access your storage from other realms in all realms, and be able to equip your recruited npc with better equipment.
