About

Project Castaway is survival crafting title set in the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Hunt, gather, fell trees and embark on expeditions to traverse the ocean - discovering desert islands laden with unique resources.

Embark on the life of a true castaway - stranded on a deserted island, with just yourself for company. Scavenge or hunt for food, traverse from island to island and be carefully construct rafts & shelters for when the night comes - it can get awfully cold on these islands...

Being stranded has some upsides, at least. Explore beautiful Pacific landscapes. Swim through shimmering blue water to stand upon golden sands as waves crash against your feet. When the weather turns, take cover under palm trees as the rain pelts the ocean - and listen to the thunder crash overhead.

Use the natural materials surrounding you to construct a base - the key to your survival. Hunt animals, fell trees and scavenge ruined ships as you build your way to safety.

You best keep your wits about you - it can get lonely on these islands, and castaways have been known to lose their minds... Keep on top of your sanity and ensure that you're sleeping well - lest unnatural apparitions appear before you, seeking to take your life.

I read the negative comments saying that you should play Green hell instead, that this game is bad, etc... However, I decided to buy it anyway! Let me tell you this: Project Castaway is one awesome survival game, yes it has similarities to green hell; so if you like green hell, you are going to love Project Castaway too! The survival in Project Castaway is easy in comparison to green hell, even though the survival mechanics are similar. The building mechanics in project castaway are better because you can move around your placed items and change them from one place to another. Project castaway is for people who love the island survival theme; Green hell is for people who love the jungle survival theme. Project Castaway has better graphics, better building mechanics and better book guide! Project Castaway is for all those who got bored of playing green hell. If you have survived the jungle in green hell, then give this game a chance and survive now on a tropical island! Don't listen to the bad reviews! If you do, then you are going to miss the opportunity of playing an awesome survival game taking place on an island!
do NOT waste your time buying/playing or installing this trash tier game... it is a clone of a billion other games and fails to get one single game mechanic right despite being a very generic clone of far better games... do not buy... 0 out of 10
EXTREAMLY GLITCHY ! Tried playing with a friend but it will not let him use furnace, campfires. Stuff disapears through the floor, cooling body tempatures is nearly impossible.
If this is the Final version and there are no other updates then it's a hard no if anyone asks me if they should buy this game. Too buggy and building mechanism is a nightmare to line up. There are a lot of games like this that are better. This one has better graphics but falls short in many other areas
i would not recommend the game until they fix all the bugs like it freezes and cant save the game and they fix it to where you can find the sticky notes and be able to help your friends in co-op
อย่าหาเล่นเกมนี้ จนกว่าเกมจะปล่อยเป็นเกมตัวเต็มเพราะบัคเยอะมากทั้ง single player และ muti player
Greetings, Canada. Say, was it really necessary to paint that rred flag on the second island ? It will be great if you remove that s in next patch.. and add Ukrainian language.. and game itself is 6/10. Add more visible content, and game will be great.. more ships wreck... wish more islands... more scubadiving with flippers (why the entering in water have a pink color?).. more variations of rain and weather.. need the sounds of ocean and waves, winds and ambient.. i turn off the music.. and have some freez issue with coop... i saw you adding pages in book, but wishing more. Also think about VR.. I will subscribe, and will wait news about updates. Good luck. And remove that f flag
I dont get it. This game even crashes when starting up. The amount of glitches ( items dissapearing) is insane. This game feels like a teenager tried to recreate Stranded Deep in his spare time and stopped half way. I restarted 3 times thus getting x hrs of gameplay. Frustrating game
If you like Green Hell, than you'll probably like this game. Feels kind of like playing Stranded Deep with Green Hell gameplay. Game is perfect by any means and still needs some work. The biggest issue for me is that the inventory management is terrible. The inventory space is limited, which I normally wouldn't mind, but this is made much worse by the fact that items often times won't stack properly resulting in multiple partial stacks, which uses extra inventory slots. Only way to fix this is to consolidate items by either manually dragging and dropping items in your back pack one at a time to the desired slot or on the ground to pick up again, or for storage chest, swapping items back and forth to start a fresh stack. It's surprising that such a basic inventory mechanic is implemented so poorly and even more surprising that it's hasn't been patched and quite frankly it makes the game feel like it's still not finished. Either way, despite this, it hasn't been a deal breaker for me. I'm still enjoying the game and would still recommend it in hopes that they'll eventually fix this.
Fun game! Suggestions: Don't make us find the airplane (on lighthouse island) before being able to find the pilot's notes. Allow a toggle button option for running. When hovering over items in chests, show the name of the item (backpack too). Allow us to save game without laying down on a bed. If we could just hover over bed to save. Almost impossible to navigate through the Journal when on the boat...jumps around. Have some kind of backdrop on the backpack - it's really hard to see things in it. Shard Container - you can put many types in, but you can't choose which ones to take out. The "Next" does appear to do anything.
