I really wanted to love Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny. I have a soft spot for these lighthearted, family-friendly takes on dungeon crawlers, games like Cat Quest that manage to blend accessibility and charm with fun gameplay. Sadly, this one just isn’t fun. Visually, it’s not bad at all. The art style captures the colorful, cartoonish feel of the original Nickelodeon shows quite well, and the voice acting and sound design are good. But the moment you start playing, it becomes clear that everything revolves around a combat system with no real depth or weight. Character progression feels almost pointless too. There are a few abilities to unlock for each character, and some of them are mildly entertaining to use, but there’s no real sense of growth or challenge. The game is incredibly easy, to the point where even children will probably get bored. And no, “it’s for kids” isn’t an excuse; we’ve seen plenty of games aimed at younger players that still manage to be engaging and rewarding. It’s a shame, because there’s potential here, but as it stands, Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny is colorful, loud, and utterly dull. Hard to recommend.
I find myself indifferent with this game. hopefully nickelodeon expands on the idea, just finished the game. There's no post game content, max level is 40, gear drops felt uninspired. toward the end of the game i found myself avoiding any combat i didn't feel was necessary. Skill rotations were alright but lacked depth, story wasn't terrible though very childish, I'd say this game would be great for an introduction to action games for a child, not really enough there for me to bother ever playing it again
Highlights- - Good roster of 9 playable character, all have really fitting and also fun to use skills and attacks. - Dialogue is fully voiced, there's a number of well animated cut scenes, definitely the best Nicktoons game story - Lots of attention to detail when it comes to each Nicktoon and the series they are from. - Boss battles are AWESOME and each one is very distinct from the other in their own ways, they can also be VERY challenging. - Each level has a randomised challenge section which can be chaotic and quite difficult. - Levels look beautiful, and while opinions vary on the 2D character models, I really like them personally. - The NPCs are great and it's always exciting when a new one shows up Low points- - Puzzles are minimal to non-existent. Definitely my biggest gripe I feel like with every character having elemental effects in their attacks and even matching power-ups and potions being accessible to everyone - having even simple puzzles that would need to be solved via the use of projectiles, an elemental effect or invisibility has a lot of potential and would add variety to the levels. But mostly you just get very simple switch puzzles on very rare occasions. - Levels are mostly just breaking debris, dodging floor traps and fighting swarms of enemies which can be VERY fun in short bursts, but pretty repetitive and a bit underwhelming if you're hoping to play through each level after the next. - The levels can be pretty samey and easy if you play co-op and/or always equipped the best loot. (On the other hand, I also found it somewhat more challenging when not doing that, but overall the game's difficulty balance does need some work) - With one or two exceptions side quests are mostly just fetch quests. - This is far more polished than I typically expect from a game mill title, but there are still bugs (although it does look as though they are planning bug fixes). I did not encounter very many personally, and certainly none that I would consider game breaking, however. Overall: This game is AMAZING if you are a nicktoons fan who just wants something newer/better than the old Nicktoons games (Unite, Volcano Island, Toybots, Globs of Doom, etc). If you have no experience in Diablo or Path of Exile (Like me), you may still enjoy this. If you are looking for Diablo or Path of Exile level depth though, this is going to be very light, but it may be a good introduction to the genre to anybody wanting to test the waters.
This game is really awesome. Yeah it's stupid easy and very obviously directed towards children in terms of difficulty and story telling but It's just a beautiful thing to hear these characters interact with one another. I remember Timmy Turner and Jimmy Neutron met once in in the fairly odd parents but this is a real treat for big time fans. Even though the dialogue is pretty basic, it still puts a smile on my face every time I hear the characters interact. This game, however, is NOT worth $49.99. This is $20 game at MOST. I really wish this game had a higher budget and was taken more seriously by Nickelodeon (cuz what modern kid is gonna know most of these characters and play for them let's be real) but it is still an enjoyable game if you play purely with the characters and nostalgia in mind.
Constant studdering even when over 60 fps. Can't recommend in this state

A very much casual game; which I expected, have played every demon/dark soul's too (elden ring wz almost 2 ez; except that one boss that heals every gdam time they hit you, even when you blocked them, and has an attack that can pull like 10 hits in one succession and still heal from every hit.. fiopadsnfangnxnbvcmpods;ifnaoip, Still, this game could use a hard mode I think (from what I see so far and I've only started, but others have stated it is mostly ez fun. I think full price may have been a bit steep for something like this of course. -FINished Game- it really is like a souls like game versus me thinking it would be more actual turn based combat. I think yes, bugs are here and there (nothing that couldn't be worked around), and quests feel a bit grindy too, but overall I think they did pretty good here. I think the final boss though was a bit too painful in terms of thier long window of invincibility (Idk what boss they think can be invincible for so long even with ranged weapons). Apart from that everything else is mostly smooth. Also, where is new game+, that would probably be broken but no real start from beginning with everything unlocked sadly.
