I played many many hours, and there were things I loved, but the things that irritated me just kept piling up. * Quests given at beginning you can't do till after you beat the boss. Why not just wait? * Can't finish Kingdom without doing a super hard Dream Door that requires way more grinding then I want to do at this point. The Kingdom was my favorite part. I had a lot of fun building it, but have zero desire to grind or buy the DLCs to help grind easier. * Bad, bad, bad story writing. * Chests that generally give junk * The annoying skirmish mechanics * A game about bringing all the races/lands together, but besides Evan, the player characters are all human
Nnk2's gameplay loops are boring and lack refinement, bouncing back and forth between too easy and extremely frustrating due to how poorly and shallowly the action RPG mechanics are implemented. Enemy difficulty scaling is equally poor, and the variety leaves much to be desired. The story is both generic, and confounding. Characters are unremarkable - not that the game has any intention of letting you learn all that much about them. The NPCs are shallow, and the plot twists are either predictable or fly completely in the face of previous information without ever fully justifying themselves, making them feel like complete ass-pulls. I mean, it's bad. It's really bad. I could go into specifics of the nonsensical, completely unrevised/unedited writing, but I don't want to include spoilers or to even think about this game any longer. It's exhausting. Save yourself the time and money.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Jul 23 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Pretty good game. Kept me entertained for 80+ hrs building up my kingdom and trying to clear that ever re-filling quest list. Pros Lots of quests to get on with Kingdom building is quite fun Enjoyed the world Nice graphics style Cons Too many repeatitive fetch quests Combat too similar + repetitive Quest text too slow to cycle through Thousands of shallow quests
Ni No Kuni II trades some of the original’s charm for a lighter, action-focused RPG experience. It’s beautiful, packed with systems, and easy to sink time into, even if the combat plays things very safe. Not exceptional, but a cozy, colorful JRPG that’s fun if you temper expectations.
love this game, its a classic
i liked the fast paced battle. the story also good. but i miss the pet in Ni No Kuni 1
I really love this game, ghibli reference
Good ♥♥♥♥. Not your usual linear JRPG
