don't bother with the DLC

NNK2 is simply amazing game, the higgledies are super strong and cute companions, a nice mechanic to the game. Since its very different for the first installment, NNK2 is set some long years after the events of the first one, overall NNK2 is an awesome jrpg. I would love to see a 3rd game of the franchise, exploring more lore even before Oliver the main protagonist of the first game.
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is a charming and beautifully crafted JRPG that blends traditional storytelling with modern gameplay mechanics. The art style, inspired by Studio Ghibli, brings the world of Evermore to life with vibrant colors and whimsical character design. The story follows Evan, a young king forced to rebuild his kingdom after a coup. While the plot may feel predictable at times, it’s heartfelt and full of warmth. The English voice acting is solid, and the music—composed by Joe Hisaishi—is absolutely stunning. Combat is fast-paced and fluid, with real-time battles replacing the turn-based system from the first game. It may be a bit simplistic for hardcore RPG fans, but it’s still engaging and fun. The kingdom-building mechanic adds a unique layer to the game, giving you a satisfying sense of progression and control. Overall, this is a magical adventure that’s hard not to love. If you enjoy JRPGs, light strategy, and heartfelt stories, Ni no Kuni II is definitely worth your time. Rating: 8.5/10
