Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Aug 23 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This remake is very faithful to the original puzzle design, although it brings its own spin on the artistic aspect. Some of the Ages feel quite different, and I love how Seletinic and Stoneship look. Whether you're a new or returning player, it's worth taking a new trip to Myst. The original FMVs are still there as an option. Best of all, the additional Rime Age has not only been included, but redesigned and expanded with additional puzzles and story! Also check out the Riven Remake released in 2024, which also features new addition to the Myst universe. If you've like the way Outer Wilds weaves its story and puzzles together, you'll want to see how Riven was built and improved upon Myst. Only drawback for me: there is no available way yet to map controls to non-QWERTY keyboard layouts. It requires switching layout in the system settings. I would love if the game detected international layouts, or allowed me to manually remap controls!
Myst delivers exceptional visual modernization, featuring high-quality visuals and dynamic lighting that significantly improve upon the original and RealMyst versions while keeping the series' iconic aesthetic intact. This stunning presentation supports compelling world-building, where distinct Ages like the Mechanical, Stone Ship, Channelwood, Selenitic, and Rhyme environments feel well-realized through detailed journals and environmental storytelling. The narrative stakes are further elevated by engaging branching endings, providing multiple conclusions that offer a great incentive for thorough exploration of the island's secrets. The core gameplay loop thrives on tactile and creative puzzle design, ensuring that solving mechanical challenges like the gear rotation in the Mechanical Age or complex telescope navigation provides a rewarding sense of intellectual discovery. Progressing through these challenges is aided by a strategic in-game photo mode, allowing you to take pictures of clues and notebooks to eliminate the need for physical note-taking. The journey also introduces streamlined page gathering by letting you carry both the red and blue book pages at once, a massive quality-of-life improvement that pairs beautifully with immersive audio cues like the directional pings and cowbells used to solve the Selenitic Age maze. However, this legendary adventure remake still faces a few notable hurdles stemming from its archaic traversal design and vague interaction parameters. The gameplay suffers from onerous backtracking requirements, meaning that much of your time is spent enduring slow travel between distant levers, switches, and elevators. This pacing issue is compounded by tedious elevator animations, as manually having to shut the elevator doors before they can even be operated adds completely unnecessary friction to your exploration in vertically focused areas like Channelwood. The user experience introduces minor headaches through frustratingly vague interaction logic, where critical hidden ladders or specific buttons on mechanisms blend too perfectly into the detailed environment and are easily overlooked. You will also encounter clunky camera and movement controls during fine-tuned segments like the tower rotation, as using a mouse or controller for precise rotation can feel backward or overly sensitive. This control friction is worsened by an inconsistent generator pacing in the Stone Ship and Rhyme Ages, where power limits can feel punishingly short and often cut out before a puzzle can be fully understood. The challenge can occasionally peak during opaque puzzle difficulty spikes, showcasing obtuse logic during the lens refraction puzzle or when calculating the specific voltage requirements for the rocket. Finally, the presentation is marred by illegible stylized handwriting in certain journals, specifically within the Rhyme Age. The cursive script is exceptionally difficult to read against the paper textures, which frequently leads to unnecessary frustration and missed clues. Overall Myst is a remarkably gorgeous, intellectually stimulating, and atmospheric puzzle classic that excels through its modern graphical overhaul, creative audio challenges, and fantastic quality-of-life updates. While the mysterious island exploration is occasionally held back by tedious backtracking loops, sensitive rotation controls, sudden puzzle difficulty spikes, and hard-to-read journal text, the brilliant environmental storytelling and rewarding mechanical logic ensure it stands as a triumphant and highly satisfying definitive version of a gaming masterpiece.

Didn't know anything about this game. Got sucked in; I can't really put my finger on why, just that I always wanted to reach the next step. It's atmospheric and you feel you are there. The VR part is a bit clunky. The textures are a bit rubbish. It's not optimised. But you put the shortfalls behind you because you think you know how to solve the current puzzle and give all your focus to that. I'm in my 50's and like games like The Room VR, so that'll give you some context. That said, my 11 year old son watched it on the monitor, then insisted he play in the headset. He never normally plays my games, not Alyx, he didn't even like Batman. This game caught his interest. Myst differs from The Room VR in that you are not following a track, you are dropped on an island and are free to go where you want and investigate whatever you want. At first nothing makes sense, but slowly you start to see how some things could possibly link together. The game rewards you by opening up.
Wonderful remake of the original Myst game. Much better graphics and the puzzles while true to the original are refined to play better and are much more fun I think. Overall much better and worth every penny,
A review? Seriously, it's MYST!!! :)
LIke visiting my childhood with better visuals!!!!
Intensely disappointing. I bought Myst expecting to be able to play Myst. Then one day, I didn't get Myst. I got a badly acted, bland, lifeless remake that couldn't even mange to remake it right. If you want to play Myst, don't buy Myst. Buy Myst Masterpiece Edition, apparently. Which is now what this used to be.
Wo sollte man überhaupt anfangen? Wem also trauen?
Myst (USA, 2021) is the remaster/remake of Myst (USA, 1993) by its own developers. It's always tricky to judge this type of work, because should the main criteria be how well it stands on its own, or how faithful it is to the original? I had mixed feelings about Myst as a kid when I played it back in the day: it's a fantastic idea, and it was very innovative at the time. But the puzzles were easy as ♥♥♥♥ and the game very short. In retrospect I just see it as the stepping stone that got us to what was next; it timidly walked so others could run. The remake is the same: great concept, very easy puzzles, only a few hours to finish it. Measured as a recreation of the original it is very satisfactory, as far as remakes go it is definitely a good one. It's the same game, with vastly improved graphics and controls, and a bonus level at the end that acts as an epilogue that neatly ties the story together, as well as a preface to our mysterious protagonist's next destination: Riven. Not that much else to say about it really. Since it's not a trailblazer anymore, the game of Myst itself has become pretty forgettable, I've seen indie games on Xbox Live Arcade with the same amount of depth and content. Myst is to first person 3D puzzle games what Space Invaders was to shooting games or OutRun to racing: a new beginning, a breath of fresh air, a glimpse of the possibilities of the future... but a pretty weak experience nevertheless. Almost a glorified tech demo, a proof-of-concept. Despite all of this, I recommend the remake to pretty much everyone: the ones who played it before will get a nostalgia kick out of it, the ones who didn't will get to discover an absolute classic. Probably should get it on sale, though.
