Very dissapointing, usually I enjoy puzzle games. Maybe people like it for some nostalgic reason, seems not worth more than a couple of euros. Graphics for a remake on Unreal Engine is a joke, looks very bad, like someone made it over a couple of weekends. Sound/Music are bad and annoying. Random stutters on Linux, graphics settings seems not to impact that.
You open a book, and suddenly you're stranded on a mysterious island with no instructions, no hints, no hand-holding. Just you, the environment, and a series of increasingly clever puzzles to solve. The old-school approach is both its biggest strength and a potential barrier for newcomers. But if you're willing to embrace it, the satisfaction of cracking each puzzle on your own is hard to match. The story, while not the main focus, is surprisingly deep and worth following. A randomized mode also gives the game some replay value. On the downside, controller support feels a bit clunky, and some CGI sequences don't seem able to keep up with the graphics improvements of this reamke. A slow, thoughtful, and rewarding experience, just don't expect anyone to tell you what to do. Recommended.
MAKES BRAIN GO BRRRR (IN A GOOD WAY)
Best version of Myst I've played. (I only really played realMyst: Masterpiece Edition, but I've looked at Myst: Masterpiece Edition to see what it's about as well.) I'd say it's very accessible and much easier than a lot of other Cyan games (Obduction being the worst offender). The only real thing I didn't like about it was that there's no definitive ending.
Sure, the guy at the end says, "Good job, now go and explore," but I think it should just cut to hard ending at and go to credits at some point.
Intensely disappointing. I bought Myst expecting to be able to play Myst. Then one day, I didn't get Myst. I got a badly acted, bland, lifeless remake that couldn't even mange to remake it right. If you want to play Myst, don't buy Myst. Buy Myst Masterpiece Edition, apparently. Which is now what this used to be.
amazing looking remaster, can't wait to dig in. shoutout to cyan for creating art
Remake of a great, great game
This is the 2nd best version of Myst and Myst is Myst so thumbs up.
1993년의 충격을 담아낼 순 없었지만 여전히 흥미로운 퍼즐 어드벤처
A classic puzzle game! I mostly play more modern puzzle games that were inspired by the myst series, so for me, the puzzles were fairly simple and short due to framillirity with the genera. They were all very fun either way! I would reccomend this game and the others in it series. Especially if you like looking back at the evolution of games and puzzle games as well as how games are remade for modern times.
