I had a lot of fun with this game. You play as a female detective who has been dubbed "Miss Holmes" as a tribute to her investigative skills. Sherlock Holmes (and Moriarty, of course) are actual people living in Victorian London and its environs - the story opens with a newspaper article on the disappearance and possible death of the two arch-rivals. Pros: - lovely art and scenery - variety of both HO scenes and puzzles (varying difficulty levels; not hard) - pleasant voice acting for protagonist - bonus chapter is entertaining, although slightly short and not much plot (being generous) - collectibles and morphing items are neither too easy, nor too difficult to see/find - interactive map showing actions etc. - overall very relaxing, pleasant feel (I have a bias for Victorian and other historical settings, though) Cons: - no re-use of items (you will find, use, and toss away all sorts of screwdrivers and so on) - heavily dependent on "find the special shape" in order to unlock containers - Sir Baskerville's accent is highly suspect (lol) - most of the puzzles are on the easy side (but variety and occasional challenge make up for it) There are in-game achievements, but no Steam achievements or trading cards. Full price on Steam is probably too high, but Big Fish games do go on sale, and are often available in collections - at a discount, this game is worth adding to your HOPA collection.
Genre
Ein Hidden Object Adventure
Story

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
Ms. Holmes : The Monster of the Baskervilles est un très bon Hidden…
i hate-play this game with a passion i would like to play WITHOUT a cutscene stopping me every 10 seconds finished a puzzle? cutscene open a location? LONG cutscene hidden object solved? cutscene and puzzles arent terribly long, so you just get BOMBARDED with cutscenes before and after cutscene there is some amount of time when you cant click on anything it REALLY takes you out of the game also nearly 80% of the puzzles are just "find correctly shaped amulet" and game being meta about it doesnt make it better i recommend playing this while incredibly high
Good graphics, nice story. Puzzles not very easy so you spend a relax time solve the game. I ejoy it.
A good hidden object and puzzle game. The Ms Holmes character and Baskerville setting is fun. Main game is quite short, so I would recommend purchase when discounted.
A good HOP. Good story. Likeable protagonist. Wide range of puzzles although some were a little easy. I really enjoyed this Big Fish game. I find the Big Fish games are better than the newer Artifex Mundi games.
Ms. Holmes: The Monster of the Baskervilles Collector's Edition is a polished and atmospheric hidden-object puzzle adventure that blends classic detective fiction with gothic mystery and light supernatural intrigue. Developed by Elephant Games and published by BFG Entertainment, this Collector’s Edition entry reimagines the spirit of Conan Doyle’s famous Baskerville legend through the lens of a modern investigative heroine, offering a story that feels familiar yet distinct. It is firmly rooted in the traditions of the HOPA genre, but its strong narrative framing, detailed environments, and generous bonus content give it a sense of confidence and completeness that will resonate with fans of story-driven puzzle games. The narrative centers on a new wave of terror haunting the Baskerville estate, where rumors of a monstrous creature once again grip the surrounding moorlands. Rather than retelling the original Holmes story, the game uses it as a thematic foundation, building an original mystery that blends rational deduction with unsettling folklore. As Ms. Holmes, players are tasked with untangling layers of deception, fear, and hidden motives, gradually discovering that not everything is as it seems. The writing strikes a careful balance between suspense and clarity, ensuring that the mystery unfolds in a steady, engaging manner without overwhelming players with exposition. Gameplay follows the well-established hidden-object adventure structure, alternating between exploration, item collection, and a wide variety of puzzles. Hidden-object scenes are richly illustrated and densely packed, encouraging careful observation while avoiding excessive clutter that could lead to frustration. The object hunts are complemented by logic puzzles, mechanical contraptions, and pattern-based challenges that test different problem-solving skills. These mini-games vary in complexity, and optional hints or skips ensure that the experience remains approachable for players of all skill levels. The Collector’s Edition enhances this structure by allowing puzzles and scenes to be replayed independently, adding value for completionists and puzzle enthusiasts. Visually, the game excels at creating a moody, gothic atmosphere appropriate to its setting. Manor halls, fog-shrouded moors, shadowy forests, and candlelit interiors are rendered with detailed hand-painted artwork that brings the world to life. Subtle animations—flickering lights, drifting mist, and moving shadows—add depth without distracting from gameplay. The audio design reinforces the tension, with a restrained but effective soundtrack and ambient effects that heighten suspense during key moments. Voice acting and sound cues are used sparingly but effectively, supporting immersion without dominating the experience. The pacing of the adventure is one of its strengths. Early sections focus on investigation and world-building, allowing players to become familiar with characters and locations, while later chapters introduce more complex puzzles and narrative twists. The Collector’s Edition includes a bonus chapter that extends the story beyond the main conclusion, offering additional insight and challenges that feel meaningful rather than tacked on. Collectibles, morphing objects, and hidden puzzle pieces scattered throughout the game encourage thorough exploration and reward attentive players with extra content and achievements. While the game largely succeeds within its genre, it does not radically innovate. Veteran HOPA players may recognize familiar puzzle types and structural patterns, and some sections follow conventions that feel comfortable rather than surprising. However, this familiarity is often a strength rather than a weakness, as the game delivers exactly what its audience expects: a coherent mystery, satisfying puzzles, and a strong sense of atmosphere. The difficulty curve is well judged, rarely spiking abruptly or dragging unnecessarily, which helps maintain momentum from beginning to end. Overall, Ms. Holmes: The Monster of the Baskervilles Collector’s Edition is a refined and engaging hidden-object adventure that stands out through its storytelling and presentation rather than mechanical novelty. It offers a rich, self-contained mystery supported by high-quality artwork, varied puzzles, and generous bonus features. For fans of detective fiction, gothic mysteries, and classic point-and-click puzzle games, it delivers a rewarding experience that respects genre traditions while presenting a compelling, character-driven investigation. Rating: 7/10
A few too many "correctly shapes amulets", but the graphic quality is the right mix of artistic that looks good, but doesn't make the HOGs unnecessarily difficult. Story and characters is better than most, and has several unique puzzles. Also, the collectible being bobble-heads is pretty fun. Good length bonus chapter, as HOGs go.
