I played this game all the way through with hopes and they have been dashed. I have never been more frustrated with a puzzle game in my life. It can't decide if it is an escape room game or a puzzle box style game and there is never a clear through line for what you need to start with or go to next. Even with hints until you get the last one none really give you enough information to solve on your own. Overall the puzzles just are basic and not fun or easy but they road block you or put the answer in an obscure place so you struggle. Overall just play something else if you want to play something like the room.
You are probably here to check whether this game is like "The Room". The answer is: "somewhat like The Room". Many mechanics are similar. It is inferior to "The Room" though. My biggest criticism is this: The puzzles do not connect very well. You basically need to be clicking/hovering around all kinds of items just to see whether your cursor change or something happens. Some of them geniunely have no hints either and just clicking around edges of some picture just in case is quite boring. You need to handle all of the puzzles to progress anyway, so a tiny piece of unconnected puzzle like this frequently blocks you from progressing, which is frustrating and tedious. Related to that is the camera movement. There are multiple sections where you need to move to a certain view and they are easy to miss because you need to be clicking a really small section of the screen for the game to do that. You also cannot freely move your camera around 360 degrees to check various items or puzzle pieces when you are focusing on them and I feel like that's frustrating as well. What made me stop playing though was a bug where a piece of tower that was apparently supposed to rise did not after solving an another puzzle. This was a bug and I wasted 15 minutes checking around the room to see what I've missed. It showed up correctly after a reload. Afterwards, I threw the towel. You might still get enjoyment out of this game, but you have been warned.
eh, for 2 bucks it's fun enough but felt like more of a big game of find the thing you haven't clicked on yet vs a true puzzle game.
Most of the puzzles were elementry, The puzzles are mostly the same idea behind them. You try to fix one thing but that alters another. The main issue is in the early chapters you would solve a puzzle and it would open something on the other side of the room without a clear indictation that it would happen. I didn't hear or see anything for most of them, It expects you to go back and forth between rooms which is time consuming because it has to do an animation everytime you go to the other room. Most of my playtime in this game isn't actually solving the puzzles, it's trying to find the revealed item or moving around the "map".
Spoiler: (Doesn't contain the solution) I wouldn't say the 8th chapters puzzle is difficult, It is just another case of lack of explanation. You have to start up a boiler contraption, you are shown 3 columbs that look like a combination lock and below those there are 3 more combintation locks of sorts. I knew what to do from the start you use a mangifying glass to count how many of each shape are inside some fluid but then you have to go back down to the combination lock and have the numbers in each columb add up to the number of each type of shape there was in the fluid. The Issue, THEY DON'T CLEARLY STATE WHICH SHAPE GOES INTO EACH COLUMB. I spent probably an 20 minutes just looking around for an indicator of which shape corresponds to each columb, I found one of the shapes on the side of one of the fluid resevoirs, but neither of the other tanks had one. Even If they did that doesn't tell you which tank corresponds to each columb. This is the only puzzle I struggled with and once again, It's not because it's hard, It's because they don't give you required information. But hey, maybe I'm blind.
I got it on sale for basically $3 after tax. According to steam I played it for 6.6 hours According to the game I beat it in 4 hours 30 minutes. I would not buy it for the original price of $25, and I won't be buying the next game.
Very frustrating and irritating, I know how to solve the puzzle but the game doesn't allow for a solution unless it's pin point accuracy, the controls are also terrible, tried adjusting the sensitivity in the options but it does nothing, clicking on an object is delayed, moving objects around is sluggish and the puzzles are just plain boring, I got it in the sale so I won't be refunding it but I also won't be playing it to completion.
TLDR, definitely worth it on sale. it's no more frustrating than any other puzzle game. it's definitely a "the room"-like, but it's an extremely decent one (if not a good one lol). if you liked the room/puzzle games in general, you'll probably like this one. the other reviews stating that it's hard to tell what to do next are accurate in that sometimes it'll take a minute to figure that out, but i only ever got badly stuck once, and it was because of a bug that caused an inventory item to disappear. the in-game hints should be PLENTY helpful if you are a seasoned puzzle game player; if i was ever stuck, i never needed to google what to do, and i usually only needed one or two of the hints. plus there's no achievement for foregoing the hints, so just use them.
Amazing puzzle game. It reminds me of the room games except the movement is a bit worse but other than that I really enjoyed this game.
It's not so much hard as it is just plain tedious. Shortly after the start levels, most of the time you're just left to try bunch of random combinations without any kinds of hints on what the solution might be. This means most of the time after you have solved a non logical puzzle, you're greeted with a new non-logical puzzle right after it. So this is just rinse and repeating trying random combinations in various different puzzles and that is not very pleasant after awhile. Good example of well done point&click game series is The Room franchise. They offer challenge, are always fair and have logic in them so that youre not left out to try figure the solution from one of worlds many possibilities.
The puzzles are interesting and not too easy so it makes it nice to play. The way of moving around is a little bit anoying but despite that I liked it.
