Amazing fun and stupidly funny. The writing had me chuckling quite often and the gameplay wasn't the hardest but sometimes it definitely pushed ya. Stylistically it is genuinely beautiful I had everything turned up to the max so it sounded and looked about as good as it could've (including film grain and audio muffling and whatnot). One thing I found in particular that was amazing was the worldbuilding. It somehow felt extremely natural as the world was built around you while none of the characters really info dumped it allowed you to truly learn of the characters and the setting without feeling like you were exposition dumped. It almost feels like you are in a sequel to a different game looking at easter eggs for a previous title but in the best ways possible. If you are a fan of cheesy (ha ha) writing a not too in depth story but great all the same and extremely well done sprite work and designs and it genuinely dripping with charm (as well as really good voice work) I would highly recommend picking it up.
too little cheese, 0/10
I had fun playing MOUSE: P.I. for the most part but I'm sad to report I never finished it. I did get bored toward the end and one of the bosses wasn't worth enduring. I felt like I'd done my time with it. As most people seem to agree, it's a nice looking game with some nifty animations and the shooting is sincerely fun (I love the acid gun and it's death animation). If you're not particularly bothered about cheese related ramblings, I would recommend skipping most of the dialogue. I never found it had any real benefit apart from some leads to side quests. The evidence you'll gather during main quests and side quests will automatically link up all the clues on the board when you visit your office, so there's no real challenge there. You can simply skim through and carry on mindlessly killing rodents. Perhaps the aforementioned is just to give the player a break from all the bam bam and it's not a negative really, just never interested me. Overall, a good experience which should of been shorter with less cheesy dialogue.
a lot of cheese
