gameplay is better than expected although it might be because ive never played anything with this gameplay loop,
Mouse P.I. For Hire is an absolute delight. The gameplay is frenetic and well balanced leading to some fun fps melees and some very interesting and challenging boss battles. The voice acting is top notch. The writing is fantastic and humorous. The art style is adorable and grotesque in a cute way. Not to mention the homage to old Hollywood. This is just all around a wonderful experience and one that I would recommend to anyone that is willing to listen to me.
Accion directa, sin mucha vuelta. Como los viejos clásicos..! Compralo, no seas maluco..!
Fun casual playing game. Love the "cheesy" jokes.
really fun!

Even better than I was hoping. Things I love: - The gameplay. The combat is fast paced and exciting, evoking the chaos of Bioshock or Doom's battles, with just as many weapons and environmental hazards as those games (with a much lower production budget, I'm sure) - The humor. So many touches made me genuinely laugh or smile throughout, like the tailpicking and the writing is often genuinely smart. - The voice acting. Troy Baker did it again, and the guy who plays Cornelius Stilton is super talented too. And the brain. And Tammy and Wanda and the Magician and... - The level designs. They lend themselves very well to the fast pace of the game, and there's a lot of variety between each of them. - The boss battles. Memorable, chaotic, clever, and fun. - The art style. At first I didn't love the Paper Mario style, having 2D sticker looking characters in a 3D first person environment, but I really came to appreciate how they hand-animated most characters from 5 angles (front, 1/4 profile, half profile, 3/4 profile, and back), and I realized the 3D environments felt very very ToonTown from Disneyland, which juxtaposed nicely with some of the grim or creepy levels. Some cons: - Enemy variety. You're basically fighting the same three or four enemies throughout each level, just with different outfits. - A couple moments where it's very obscure what you're supposed to do next, in a poor level design way, not a clever riddle kind of way. - The baseball mini-game isn't my favorite... and having to win 30 games to 100% the game is excessive. - The story isn't changing the world. A little cliche, a little predictable, but such is the homage they're going for. Not many other gripes though. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun 12 hours or so.
