Great game. Fun if you like the rubberhose style and shooters. Very rewarding game to 100%, but be weary of some achievement bugs.
Like most, I think this game definitely on the longer side for what it is. Some of the the levels could have been edited down and some could have just been scrapped for a tighter experience. That being said, this is a great game and I recommend it.
lots of fun
This game was the ♥♥♥♥, you are a mouse/ detective in a noir setting... Some people say too much noir, i think you cant have too much Noir. 10/10
Review after game completed on Hard difficulty, found a good number of secrets The Quick and Dirty Version: 9 / 10 - The creators really did a good job making it feel period-accurate. It kept me interested in the game world until the very end. I died a lot and there were some frustrating moments (mostly because I was playing on Hard), but I was able to power through after a handful of attempts. Recommended if you want an FPS with a good story and good world building. Story/Worldbuilding/Music/Voice Acting: I feel like the devs more or less nailed it with this one. I wasn't bothered by the cheese references and language Mechanics: I feel like everything flowed smoothly for the most part. The gimmicks introduces generally don't get in the way much. Double Jump was pretty useful and you get it in the first level after the intro. There were a few places where it was miss this platform and instant death. The upgrades and cash all did what they were supposed to. Gun Play: While every gun in the game felt like it belonged, some of the weapons I think could have used a bit more ammo or damage/effectiveness. This meant a large majority of my play through was spent juggling between the shotgun, the tommy gun, and the devarnisher depending on the enemies present. Most of the other weapons were situational use at best and I never really had enough ammo for them to be useful overall, I mainly saved them for tough enemy waves or boss fights. Enemies: While everything fit thematically, I do feel like this is a little bit of a weak spot. This game could probably have used a little more enemy variety types to mix up combat rather than just re-skinning the same enemies in different areas. By Level 6, you've pretty much seen every standard enemy in the game Bosses: Most of the bosses took me a few tries to beat. Thematically it more or less fit right in. I could have done without the boss that chucks dynamite to destroy the floor and drop you into an insta-kill pit. The first robot boss is more a nuisance due to lack of weapons and mainly having to shoot the explosive minions or trying to stun it. Level design / Secrets: Everything was for the most part put together pretty well. I probably found around 66% of all the secrets in the game. Most of the time the secrets I found weren't that hard to spot or required a little sniffing around off the beaten path. Thankfully there's a dedicated path finding button - so if you ever get stuck on where to go next, you can get back on track in no time. Overall, it's an easy recommend from me. I hope the dev team goes on to make more good stuff like this.
