About

When an alarming anomalous signal was detected from the moon of Keres-2b, astronomers were eager to explore immediately. You were created for this purpose - a fully autonomous rover named HOPE.
Collect data from the sites of interest, uncover the source of the Signal, and complete your mission. There may be a chance for mankind just yet.

Take up the role of a hastily constructed rover - drive across rocky terrain to take grainy photos and record crackly signals, and conserve battery power to survive.
Traverse an eerie, desolate landscape - the moon of Keres-2b is a lonely, quiet place, but it's not without its dangers.
A short horror game lasting roughly an hour.

very cool concept for a short horror experience.
A short but sweet horror game with interesting mechanics.
Got lost
This is where I died
Some eerie concepts but not much to chew on or any connective tissue.
I wanted to like this game, because the premise is super interesting - there's so much you can do with a lonely moon rover photographing creepy space rocks. But the execution just does not hold up. Controls are ROUGH, and it may be by design, piloting a moon rover isn't *easy* exactly, but the turning just felt abysmal and had me careening into cliffs and off of craters several times. The only real "punishment" is getting sent back to the last sunlight checkpoint, which isn't awful, but some of the anomaly locations are VERY far from these points so you lose a lot of time if you crash. The atmosphere was good and creepy, for the most part, but my frustration with the controls unfortunately shattered any buildup attempted. A couple peeks of an alien, some anomalous structures, some weird sounds, all good stuff but nothing incredibly scary. This is going to sound unfair. I love this whole game genre of "isolated and lost trying to find anomalies while the scares ramp up to absurdity", but the concept deserves iteration, not imitation. While only being relatively an hour-or-shorter, Moonrot is just Iron Lung but Again. It doesn't bring anything new to the concept outside of being in space instead of underwater. It needed something more to make it stand out better. Not terrible, but not amazing. I would like to see more and better from the developer, for sure, as like I said, there's some interesting stuff here!
Can't really recommend this. What little story there is isn't interesting, gameplay is monotonous and frustrating at times, no real payoff.
Horror is best when laced with the unknown and dripping with unease. I have found that both of those things are found in spades on empty moons (or, I suppose, appropriately small planetoids in general).
A fun and spooky slow burn horror game that's worth the price. If you like Iron Lung but want it in space, this is your meal ticket. Pick this one up now and stop waiting around. It's worth it.
