I can't believe that it took me so long to find this game. + The plot and design of Megaton Musashi W is a love letter to 70's, 80's, and 90's mecha anime. The Mazinger, Voltes V, and Getter Robo collabs aren't on accident. + The difficulty curve is as difficult as you want to make it. + A deep level of customization that is still accessible to beginners and casual players. The main points of customization are robot parts, motherboards, and pilot skills. + New game plus. - Level 5's marketing team needs to do a better job. This game should have been on everyone's radar.

Great customization, Great loot, cool gameplay that is basic but fun, and a cool story that will keep you interested

It's probably a game for endless looting and gear chasing, but this game's story mode is a terrible way to experience the game. The gameplay in the story mode is so mind numbingly boring, cutscenes constantly interrupt the gameplay, and you'll be spending the majority of the time watching cutscenes before you get 10 seconds to actually play. The story itself had some promise, but there's too many plotholes, too many characters that add little to the plot, and too many turns in the story that it gives most bad mecha stories a run for their money. I stuck it through the end to watch the train wreck, but it did not feel worth it. Sad, cause the game has decent production values, and the amount of animated cutscenes they have is impressive, but it baffles me how so much time can be spend on the production, and the plot turns out worse even by children's Saturday morning cartoon standards. If you want a loot game in the same vein as PSO, this might be an okay game to try, but otherwise, stay clear of this game.

I wish there was a neutral option because when the game actually remembers that it's neither a visual novel or an anime and lets you play the gameplay is pretty good, not amazing, but still fun enough to want to continue engaging with. I should make it clear that I haven't watched a second of the show this game is based on nor do I particularly care about that side of things My issue is the game starts off with several minutes of anime scenes, not the worst thing, kinda cozy in its own way, then you get to play ONE tutorial fight that takes maybe 2-3 minutes at most, followed by (assuming you allow the voice acting to complete for each text box) approximately ONE AND A HALF ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HOURS OF VISUAL NOVEL SLOP INTERRUPTED BY THE OCCASIONAL ANIME SCENE BEFORE YOU GET TO PLAY THE GAME AGAIN. I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the town is fake, the donut planet, whatever the ♥♥♥♥ else they painstakingly shotgunned me in the face with for over an hour I just want to play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ robot game, this game straight up reverse Shinji'd me, all I wanted to do was get in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ robot and the game straight up forgot that was a thing for well over an hour. So BE WARNED, if you're gonna play this game and you're at all unsure about the gameplay you'll need to spam like a demon through all of that BS before you get a real chance to see if you like the game, making your refund window particularly slim. That and if you want to play with friends you've gotta slog through that crap first. Thankfully I like the game when it lets me play it but I fear there will be many more hours of visual novel nonsense between myself and that. As a side note, the art direction for the visual novel side of things feels like it was made by an AI, the art is disgustingly offputting, faces just look downright wrong, body proportions are weird as hell for many characters and everything moves in a way that I can't accept was ever touched by human hands, AI or not its visually vile for large portions because of that which is a shame because the anime scenes are quite nice and arguably a strong point for the story side of the game. Ultimately this game is truly hard to reccommend to anyone but hyper autist superfans of whatever anime this is based on because of this and even then I can't say if they'd like it because I'm not one of them nor do I know anyone who's even heard of this series. There is still a decent game buried under a mountain of slop in here though for those who are big stompy robot fans though.

This is a great game. 1st and 2nd half of the game the story is soo good.. until 3rd (El Zaid) then the story goes downhill... But it is not bad at all. Combat is great until end game content. Its soo hard it just make u wanna scream. The bosses is even harder than dark soul. But mann the combat really make u feel like a boss. Freaking recommend Update: The end game is harsh but fulfilling when completed.. this game is a blast! Hope more people played this game. Need more people playing this game online. Btw the epic login... Just create an account and login.. it is annoying but once logged in it never request to relogin again. And epic always giveaway free games. Win win Oh another thing played this game fully on steam deck.. no issue whatsoever. 60 fps buttery smooth. No setting to tweak at all

アニメ未視聴、前作未プレイです。自分はダンボール戦機が青春ゲームでした。ふとsteamを見ると、LEVEL5がロボットゲーを出しているということで、当時の思い出を少しでも思い出そうと期待し購入しました。結論から言うと、ゲーム自体はそこそこおもしろかったです。ですがところどころで、ん？？と感じるところが多々ありました。ストーリーを省略しているところがあったり、後半はほぼアニメを見ていたりと、ゲームなのかよくわからない場面はありました。体感で会話と戦闘の比率は8:2です。しかし後半になるにつれて、ストーリー展開はかなりアツくなっていたため、その点は高評価です。戦闘は楽しく、特にボス戦はなかなかワクワクしました。ですが、正直今回のロボット（ムサシ）よりもLBXの方が自分は見た目がすごくタイプです。（笑）、クリアした後はやはり達成感があったのでさすがLEVEL5でした。改めてダンボール戦機が如何に神ゲーであったかを知ることができたので、ぜひリメイクを㍶で出してほしいです、、
