Легендарная игра из начала нулевых. Даже сейчас играется весьма бодро. Если бы не технические проблемы, связанные с возрастом игры, было бы вообще прекрасно. Пришлось потанцевать с бубном, чтобы удалось без проблем запускать на современной системе. Ждем ремастер.

Having played it at launch and a few times between then and now, I can definitely say that the (grand)dad of third-person shooters and brainchild of Sam Lake still holds up and gets more awesome as I get older (technical issues on modern systems and general bitrot notwithstanding). The controls are [i]tight[/i], the story is engaging and graphics are pretty great for the photorealistic era of early 2000s. The only thing going against the game is that it’s not Max Payne 2, which is as good as a sequel can get (just don’t make the mistake of playing the games out of order, because you might end up thinking that the third installment is anything but an embarrassment). Here’s to hoping for a good remake, but it can never be the same without James McCaffrey. Rest in peace, my dawg.

To play this game, I had to install some mods to make it run properly. Putting that aside, the game is a classic and for an old title, it has positive aspects that you don't usually find in modern games. Being an old game, it also has some downsides. The one I found to be the worst is the repetitive gameplay, consisting mainly of running and shooting for 8–9 hours. There are also moments when the game focuses on the story as well, but these are few and brief
