Great game but needs a patch to work.
You're gonna have to install a fix to make it actually work, but for a game this good at this price, I think that's worth it.

They sure don't make games like this anymore. I felt incredibly nostalgic playing this game. I heard they are doing remasters and i kept saying clips of people playing this online. So i just had to come back to it after so many years. The instrumental music score of the Max Payne theme evoked the inner child within me the moment i heard it again. One of the main wonderful selling points of this game has to be it's storyboard narrative storytelling. Instead of a cut scene, you get photographs with printed narrative like a comic strip and voice acting. The combination of the wonderful voice acting by James McCaffrey (RIP) the film noir narrative, the gritty backdrop, the brual opening and the wonderful story telling by Sam Lake make this game everything what it is. A fantastic game that focuses heavily on story telling and straps you in for a wild ride. Anybody that hasn't played this before will probably be charmed by this classic. Download the fix referenced in the forum if the game doesn't work. I had to download it to get the game to run properly. The game freezes on the odd occasion for me, i probably could have tweaked around a bit more with the patch, but it was playable enough for my liking.
