You have to play all the classics at least once in your life and this game is one of them. You'll need patches to get this game working properly on newer systems, here is a link. A really fun third person shooter with a great Neo-Detective themed story. Max Payne is an interesting character with an actually tragic backstory. The story is simple but entertaining and I honestly like it more than the second games story. If I had to complain about anything it's some missions feeling a little dragged out and it feeling like a less refined version of the second game but that's for obvious reasons. No real complains. 8.5/10 game for me

They were all dead. The final gunshot was an exclamation mark on everything that had led to this point. I released my finger from the trigger, and it was over.
Good third person shooter with a pretty decent story, accompanied by a fun slow down time mechanic that makes gunfights feel unique. Only con is the fact that you need to mod this game with an audio fix and a frame lock patch in order to make this port of the game even playable. STOP putting games on the store that require mods to run! Please!
The coolest game ever made. A noir detective hellbent on delivering justice for his dead wife, framed for the murder of his friend Alex Balder during a mafia crime operation. Max is dragged deeper into the Valkyr case, related in the death of his wife, as his rampage against the mafia draws out the source of the Valkyr drug epidemic that took his wife three years before. Mafia operations, the strange drug Valkyr, the Aesir Corporation, and a shadow cabal act as Payne's Ragnarok. All of this is brought to you by some of the best narration from the late James McCaffrey, and his icon visage from Sam Lake, and displayed by comic panels over cutscenes. This game was the genesis of bullet time in video games, the combat is fast and loose, it's an ageless classic. Dare I say, it is a masterpiece. If you have never played it, pick it up, download the small patch, and get ready to experience one of the hardest games you'll never want to put down.
