its not a bad game, its that there's not a lot of people that want to stick around for it given the stigma it has out of bungie's overall issues. ignoring that though, I'd say its at least worth a shot if you actually like extraction shooters, given it got me to to play it despite me disliking the genre prior
its good
Finde das Game gut kann aber auch sehr frustig sein:)
I've been a gamer who's primarily played FPS and PvP games my entire life. I've played just about every major shooter you can think of, from Doom, Quake, and GoldenEye to Halo, Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, Valorant, Apex, and all the other big names in the genre. I enjoy arena shooters, tac shooters, battle royales, and extraction games. I wouldn't say I'm an extraction game expert, but I've put time into Tarkov and ARC Raiders, so I'm not completely new to the genre. I love Marathon. It's absolutely mind-boggling to me that it isn't more popular. Are there things that could be better? Of course. Every game has flaws. But I don't think it deserves the hate campaign that's been perpetuated by people who either haven't played it or barely gave it a chance. I also think the game's difficulty is a little overblown. It might be rough for more casual players at first, but it's really not that bad once you spend some time learning it. There's something about Marathon that just clicks for me. It feels familiar enough that you can jump in and understand what it's trying to do, but different enough that it doesn't feel like another copy of something else. Every run feels tense, and every fight matters. The graphics and art style are incredible. The game has its own identity instead of trying to look like everything else. The environments, colors, and overall presentation stand out in a way that makes the world memorable. It's a nice change of pace since most PvP games these days favor bright maps, vibrant colors, and constant daylight for better visibility. Marathon has plenty of vibrant colors too, but it isn't afraid to mix in darker environments, different weather effects, and night maps while still keeping visibility surprisingly good. The gunplay is where the game really shines. Every weapon feels good to use, movement feels smooth, and the PvP is some of the most fun I've had in years. Winning fights is satisfying because it feels like you earned it, and when I lose, I usually know what I could have done better instead of feeling like the game cheated me. The maps are another highlight for me. They're well designed, full of variety, and rewarding to learn. Outpost and Cryo Archive are especially fun because of their layouts, verticality, and environmental puzzles. It's also incredibly addictive. It's one of those games where you finish a run and immediately want to queue for another. I know some people are disappointed that Marathon doesn't have more PvE content or a dedicated PvE mode, but that honestly doesn't bother me. I prefer the game to lean heavily into PvP. I've been playing competitive shooters for a long time, and Marathon is easily one of my favorite PvP experiences of the last ten years. I know it won't be for everyone, but I think a lot of people are missing out because they're listening to the internet instead of trying it for themselves.
People should give it a chance, not bad at all

way better than the internet led me to believe. Love the art style, sound design, gunplay, and music. I'm not gonna lie and say the player count is looking good. That being said, I'm not one for online sweat infested extraction shooters yet this one got my attention. I'll enjoy it for as long as we have it. I'd recommend it either way.
Very great Extraction-Shooter. Visually fantastic and gameplay wise even more. Dont hear to the haters Bungie reaaally cooked with this one, I hope some day the people get it and the playercounts get high.
Prepare to lose your skin to Arachne
only extraction shooter i care about. best art team ever?
