After I stopped playing CS, I was looking for a truly realistic shooter. I saw a lot of positive reviews for Insurgency: Sandstorm, and in my opinion, they are absolutely justified. The game is incredibly realistic and, at least for me, much more challenging than CS. It often happens to me that I don't even see the enemy and I am instantly dead the second I run out. I definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a realistic shooter, and I believe you will be thrilled with it.
I'm an Insurgency veteran, having played it since its first release as a Half-Life 2 mod in 2007. I have also played the "second" title, which was released in 2014 as a standalone game on the newer Source engine. Insurgency is a tactical-based first person shooter that offers you a big amount of weapons, attachments, and character customization. The focus is primarily infantry, and so are the maps designed. Unlike the older titles, you have limited vehicle usage in this title (drivable technical car with a mounted machine gun on the back), and you can call in different air support like the Apache, Black Hawk, and A-10 airstrike. Every title that was released was also an improvement over the prior title. This title is still alive and kickin, matchmaking is pretty fast, it takes me max. 5 seconds to get into a match. You have hardcore realism gameplay, with no lifebar, no hitmarker, and every bullet can be deadly, unlike in games like Call of Duty and Battlefield. However, what I'm criticizing and what the previous insurgency titles (both from 2007 and 2014) did better are the map design and the factions. In the previous titles, there were many more urban maps, with great lighting and outskirts areas. Take a look at the Revolt map. You felt like it was a true Iraqi/Afghan area. There were Iraqi flags, Saddam Hussein graffiti, and Iraqi propaganda posters around the map, with Mercedes cars and different types of U.S. Vehicles placed around the maps. The second thing are the factions: While in the very first title, you have USA vs Iraqi insurgents with their respective uniforms, in this title you have more common factions, Security vs Insurgents. So are the uniforms, which is a bit problematic. While it's great that you can customize your character (and you have ALOT of options), you have no more clear uniform identity. This means: You can make your security character look either like a common PMC or almost like an insurgent, and your insurgent character can be customized to look similar to a PMC. On the battlefield, it's confusing. I had to look twice, which sometimes killed me, and sometimes when I didn't look twice during battle, i killed a teammate. However, I recommend this game over Call of Duty. It provides you realism and fun experience without the need to buy dozens of DLCs, unlike other shooters provided by AAA developers & publishers. Pro: + Graphics are still awesome. + Hardcore & Realism Gameplay + Unreal Engine 4 + Huge Amount of Weapons + Modsupport + Custom Maps + Character & Weapon Customizations + Middle East-themed Insurgency + Great Sound Design + Runs smooth on older systems (my gaming laptop with GTX 1080 Mobile runs this game in FHD Max. Settings with Stable 120 FPS) Cons: - I don't like the map design on most maps, missing details like Saddam graffiti, Iraqi propaganda for realism purposes, and mostly civilian and emergency vehicles placed around the maps - Less Urbanwarfare - Too generic factions bringing confusing uniforms for characters - Also, no more focus on Iraqi/Afghan scenario.
Gameplay is fine, but one of the worst communities I've ever seen. From slurs, to bad team play, it's not even clever humor just a bunch of wannabe keyboard warriors. You can hear the soy in their voices as they scream in rage. I wish their moms would've loved them enough for them not to be terrible people. Anyway, it's fun to pop in and listen from time to time, but it does eventually ruin the experience that you can never communicate and work as a team.
单人游戏模式是不是被抛弃的没人爱的小可怜。New World Interactive,you fool
Bought this game for its PvE modes, 100% satisfied with the result. Sometimes it feels tactical and coordinated, sometimes it's just a bunch of weirdos with questionable environmental awareness trying to overcome the AI. Weapons are nice to shoot, ttk is perfect, nokia ringtone is scary. I'm deadpan serious. If you hear one but unable to identify the source you might as well be already dead x.x DRONES! This game has FPVs and bombers as the variation of air support for Insurgents. Not as something directly controllable but just a sound makes you look either for cover or at the sky, if you aren't busy protecting your life from other threats lol, respawns happen upon objective capture, successful defence, or destruction of a weapons cache. You don't wanna sit there even for few minutes losing precious time you could've spent shooting hostiles and doing said objective! Games take anything from about 10 to 35 minutes heavily depending on gamemode, team's perfomance and presence or absence of protection phases once yall captured the point. If everyone dies at same time and doesn't complete objective the mission is failed and yall start over. (It's simple and repetative but quite fun, especially once you learn maps) A bit about customization. You get slots for different classes with (mostly) unique to them weapons and a system of points that you can spend on your gear. You also have lot of stuff to customize your apperance with, like half of them are unlockable by playing the game, other half is from DLCs. There's also slots for unique classes and they are limited, rifleman being a standard one. You able to customize or completely remove your armor, webbing&backpack, gas mask OR night vision goggles, grenades&explosives, primary and secondary weapons slots. Weapons have a bunch of attachments. You get machineguns, assault&sniper rifles, shotguns, pistols. Loadouts can be saved, pretty much infinite slots for them too. There is also a singular sample of a driving and shooting technical that you or your team can ocasionally capture and bring to the point and spray everything that moves with its unlimited ammunition. I really enjoy taking machinegunner and my beloved M250 with its 100 6.8x51 armor piercing rounds that will ruin anyone's day if they're on recieving end and make mine a bit better. Definitely recommending this ♥♥♥♥
Insurgency Sandstorm is one of those rare games that never gets old. I bought it expecting a tactical shooter, but it ended up becoming one of my most played FPS games. The co op mode alone is worth buying the game for. Playing with friends against AI is always fun and every match feels different. Some rounds go smoothly while others turn into complete chaos when enemies start pushing from every direction. It creates a lot of memorable moments and teamwork actually matters. The gunplay is honestly some of the best I have experienced in any shooter. Weapons feel powerful, realistic, and satisfying to use. The sound design is amazing too. Every gun sounds distinct and firefights feel intense because a few shots can change everything. The graphics still look great even years after release. Maps are detailed, lighting looks good, and the weapon models are excellent. The game still feels modern and has aged really well. One thing I really appreciate is that the developers continue supporting the game with updates, new content, and improvements. There is always something to come back for, whether it is a new map, cosmetics, weapons, or just trying different loadouts and playstyles. This is one of those games you can play every day and not get bored. It is realistic without being a hardcore military simulator, making it easy to jump into while still rewarding skill and teamwork. If you enjoy tactical shooters and want a game with great co op, amazing gunplay, and tons of replayability, Insurgency Sandstorm is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended.
Quiero un DLC en el que el personaje que controlas vuelve a su casa y se retira con honores pero con la mente fragmentada por el estrés postraumático y las constantes pesadillas que le transportan, durante sus sueños, a las tantas batallas que ha tenido que espectar
Is fun but takes a lot of walking. Is very fun. But takes a lot of walkings.
After nearly 300 hours of gameplay (I have 50+ on console), I can confidently say I love this game and do recommend it. This is coming from someone with little to no experience in first person shooters, as I've really only played Sandstorm and Ready Or Not (which isn't PvP). For that reason I can't fairly compare Sandstorm to other FPS titles. However, with a respectable amount of experience under my belt, I believe I'm qualified to speak on Sandstorm as a game. When I was thinking about buying Sandstorm a few years ago, the most appealing characteristic of it, for me, was how "simple" it was. I don't mean "simple" as in the mechanics or gameplay, as there is certainly a learning curve that is tough to get through, especially for someone like me who didn't grow up playing FPS's. I mean "simple" as in there is very little "stuff" on your screen. Pretty much all you need to see is your gun, teammates/enemies, the environment around you, and the objective. I never got into FPS games mainly due to the amount of audio-visual stimulation and amount things you need to keep track of. But Sandstorm hooked me because of the roller coaster of action that usually takes place. Most of the time in-game is spent in low to moderate action. This is exactly where I like it to be most of the time. But don't get me wrong, when sh!t goes wild, it is absolute chaos. Panic and fear can set in real quick in this game, especially when you are the last alive. One of my favorite fire support options is the Insurgent's "rocket barrage," which is just absolute chaos to be on the receiving end of. It's loud as all hell, your screen shakes everywhere making obtaining a sight picture worthless, and you feel like you are actually on the receiving end of steel rain. My point is, Sandstorm is a gritty, no-frills take on first person shooters. The maps are dull, the guns feel real, and the objective is simple: Stay alive, and play the damn objective. If you can stick to those two rules, then the rest will come with time. The other characteristic that roped me in to this god-forsaken game was the attention to detail and (general) commitment to realism. 12 Gauge Buckshot doesn't become a squirt gun after 5 yards. Blasting a .50 cal over and over will cause "temporary" tinnitus (not service-related of course). You can't eat 6 rounds of .556 or .762 and keep going like nothing happened. You can't sprint at Olympic speeds with 100 pounds of gear. And the one that really got me was the M16 rifles. The 3-round burst on the M16 is controlled by a cam inside the fire control group. If the game only offered standard 30 round magazines (which is 10 full bursts for the slow ones in the back), then modeling it's function wouldn't matter. But if you use an entire 35 or 50 round mag (numbers that are NOT multiples of three), then the fresh mag you put in won't fire off three rounds because the cam won't be in the right position. Other games might model this, I don't know, but when I found this out it only gave me more reason to love this game. Is this game excellent? HA! Absolutely not. Not even close. The biggest issue this game faces is the lack of time and care the Devs put in. Sandstorm doesn't bombard you with microtransactions and in-game purchases (another reason I like it), and you can spend no extra money besides 30 bucks up-front and have a full experience. The problem is, this is not a money-making strategy, especially in modern times when AAA companies want to suck every last penny out of you. Sandstorm is and will always be rough around the edges, buggy, unrefined, slow to find a server, and have few current players. And that's fine. Sandstorm doesn't try to be anything it isn't, and most players except it for what it is. And yes, finding servers for many of the game modes is hard, but the silver lining is that this game feels like a much more tight-knit community than most other games. I regularly see names that I recognize in the games that I play, and most people are chill. There are of course many a-holes, in fact just recently I was team killed off rip for wearing a red baseball hat. The guy called me a N@zi fck and left. I was clueless as to what happened, then someone in the chat kindly explained that he interpreted the red hat as a MAGA hat. I was wearing it because it matched my glasses. Anyway, to make a long review short, this game shines when it's good and sucks when it sucks. You should play it.
They removed half the gamemodes and the as val is still ♥♥♥♥♥♥
