Marathon

As someone who doesn't particularly enjoy battle royale and extraction shooter games, Marathon just hits different. The gameplay, visuals, mechanics, and lore all come together to make something that is a lot of fun to play whether solo or with friends.

I write this review after putting a little over 1500 Hours into this game. This is a sick ass First-Person-Hero-Looter-Extraction-Shooter! Endless hours of fun & addictive gameplay. Solid game mechanics, really responsive, & rewarding gunplay, with a bit of unique hero abilities' element to mix up the engagements. Bungie Marathon Dev Team is constantly working on improving existing & adding new game modes to try and accommodate a variety of the gamer base. The graphical fidelity, environmental ambience, & lightning is top-notch. The current end game map, Cryo Archives, is a very punishing & engagingly good designed map. If you & your squad has what it takes to complete the in-game task to get to the final Vault, waiting at the end is a nice big Secret Boss & Loot Room for your team & you. Like all games, this game is not perfect and does have some annoyances and issues but I believe in time it can be fixed. Joy, Happiness, Pain, Suffering, Betrayal, Frustration, Triumph, and much much more, come and experience Marathon & become the Runner you are meant to be.

Love the adrenaline, die lots, but somehow its super fun!

This game is awesome. I was intrigued by the art style and look of Marathon since it came out. I never got it due to the divisive news i heard though, plus I never played any Halo/Bungie games or even extraction shooters. I dont even play online multiplayer games (aside from Elden Ring Nightreign) especially with PVP. I still remained interested tho and wanted to try it and im so glad i did, and furthermore that i stuck with it through the steep learning curve. Dont let the controversy and reputation of the game prevent you from trying it if you are interested.

Unironically kind of a banger game. The aesthetic is absolutely on point and the game itself just feels very solid to play.
