I think this game is great. The sound design, the atmosphere, the gradual improvement with every run. I mostly play solos and am far from reaching the endgame. I do not understand most of the hate and i genuinely recommend people stay away from online comments and opinions. I have noticed that trying to understand people's opinion on the game lowers my enjoyment enormously. While playing for myself i literally don't mind and just try to get better and grind. There has not been a game or shooter that has gotten me to listen to every noise to try to dare new stuff and got me engrossed like playing this game. But there was one thing that irked me a lot. The optimisation. I had a ryzen 5 5600k with a 7800xt and it was struggling to run this game, which led me to hours of optimizing settings what finally left me with something fluid and playable but is an enormous filter I think for pc players. I am ussing a UWQHD monitor though. It left me feeling quezzy and prompted me to spend an enourous amount of money, rather impulisvely, to upgrade my setup just I can have a better experience. To the ryzen 7 9800x3d, which made it far more playable and i also upgraded to a 9070xt, but i am still waiting for the delivery and most likely will result in a marginal upgrade relative to the cpu difference. For people with a similar setup. I am playing with most settings on medium, with chromatic abberattion, motion blur and ui refresh on low or off and texture detail, character distance and antistropic filtering on max/high. Frame cap on 110, vsync off, freesync on. Frame generation off, anti lag 2 on. FSR on quality. On the driver side of things only fsr upscaling upgrade on and image sharpening on 60%. This leaves me on a comfortable average cpu/gpu util of 80% with lower temps and noise, but good visuals and smooth performance. This took me HOURS to get to and shouldn't be the case. Nonetheless I give the game a 9/10 if it weren't for it being hard to run. P.S. I read a review stating that the gunplay and visuals are great, but the gameplay experience sucks, because it's mostly spend on dead time (menu's, sneaking through a building, being afraid to shoot.) As a solo player I can concur that experience. However where whe differ is how it feels for me. After a while the menu's aren't a problem anymore after you learn it. It is true that I have spent a lot time being afraid of encounters, of shooting, of feeling frustrated by not being able to find people and contest fights with runners or ai and therefore felt left out. I understand this is also a big barrier. But a part of me enjoyed the feeling of being afraid, which forced me to focus. The frustration that forced me to face my fear and adapt. Trying to make noise, daring to put myself in a vulnerable position. Feeling forced to make a play I don't feel comfortable with either to be able to extract or complete a contract. It is this experience that is exhilerating for me. Seeing that I can perform better and be more comfortable after trying things that scare me. I hope more people give it the time of day
this is a phenomenal game with great depth of lore, plus an incredible atmosphere/feel. The art style looks weird until you're in it. I think they're trying to make you feel unfamiliar with what you're looking at while still being able to recognize it, because you don't even own your body and can't identify with it and so the same is true for the everything else around you. The gunplay is great, the abilities are useful and change gameplay dramatically, The maps look great, the only problem I have is it's a little difficult to run without frame gen and with DLSS: DLAA, and everything at medium or low I get 60 frames.
this game is a battle royale larping as an extraction shooter. it's season zero apex legends but i get to bring the peacekeeper and wingman every game
A truly incredible fps experience. Top tier gameplay with an intriguing narrative and a striking art style. Certainly some areas to improve, like new player onboarding and some balance issues but I trust this team to deliver. Bungie have something special in Marathon and I'm so excited to see where this game goes.
goood and fun liek arc raiders but beeter
Great game. Favorite game!
i am an old head (halo/destiny/marathon), and I hafta say, this game is the shizznit! the gunplay alone is the tits. if you like tits, you'll love this game...
