Game is trash tbh. Wouldn't recommend buying it.
despite everything, this game will have a bright future, im certain
Game was okay when it first came out. Fell off of it and decided to wait until season 2 came out. Started season 2 late. General thoughts so far. Pros: Gun play feels great and responsive. The art of this game is truly amazing. I will give props to Bungie on that. Cons: No new maps. Any idea they come up with (example PVE) they are essentially just testing it out with the public, but it just feels like its too late. Last season was the duo modes that they tested. It feels like they had a general idea for this game but didn't flesh all of the mechanics out that a looter shooter should have. Matchmaking is horrendous. Because the game is so dead, it can take you an average of 5-10 minutes to find a match and if you die, you get to sit in that queue all over again. I'd rather just play Tarkov than the ♥♥♥♥ and ball torture that is this game.
Marathon has all the ingredients for a great extraction shooter, but it never comes together into something worth sticking with. The gunplay is solid, and the visuals are excellent, but that's where most of the praise ends. Matches quickly start to feel repetitive, progression is slow, and the risk-versus-reward balance rarely feels satisfying. Too often it feels like you're spending 20 minutes gathering gear just to lose everything in an encounter that wasn't fun or fair. The biggest issue is that the game lacks its own identity. It borrows ideas from other extraction shooters but doesn't improve on them, leaving it feeling like a watered-down version of games that already do the genre better. Team balance, matchmaking, and the overall pacing all need serious work. I wanted to like it, but after dozens of hours I realized I was playing out of hope that the next update would fix things instead of actually having fun. Maybe it'll be worth revisiting after major changes, but in its current state, I'd save your money and your time.
Cool visuals, bad game
garbage
ttk is waaaay too fast for an extraction shooter like this. It'd be great for like, an arcade shooter, something where one death doesnt mean sitting through several loading screens to try again, but it does not work here.
Despite all the hate its still a good Bungie game
mega ass
