About

Uncover the origins of organized crime in Mafia: The Old Country, a gritty mob story set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily. Fight to survive as Enzo Favara and prove your worth to the Family in this immersive third-person action-adventure set during a dangerous, unforgiving era.
Enzo will do anything for a better life. After a brutal childhood of forced labor, he's ready to risk everything to become a man of honor in the Torrisi crime family.
His oath to the Mafia, with all the power, temptation, and hardship it entails, is a burning reminder of this simple truth:
Family Takes Sacrifice.
This thrilling narrative is brought to life by stunning visuals, cinematic storytelling, and the authentic realism that the critically acclaimed Mafia series is known for. Enzo's story unfolds in a time when skill with a stiletto blade was a deadly asset, a lupara sawed-off shotgun was a go-to firearm, murderous vendettas raged for decades, and mafiosi patrolled their protection rackets on foot, horseback, or behind the wheel of turn-of-the-century motorcars.

The rough-hewn beauty of Sicily's rugged countryside is a stark contrast to the grime of urban alleyways—but the treachery and violence of this gangland run just as deep. Rival families and their ruthless leaders wage unending turf wars in the shadows, hidden from the public eye. Trust is a fleeting rarity, and loyalties are worth killing for.

You're the antihero of this thrilling 1900s story, living out every tense moment of Enzo's descent into Sicily’s clandestine criminal underworld. Come face-to-face with a cast of unpredictable allies and cutthroat enemies in this classic crime drama, rich in period-authentic details that will immerse you in this treacherous Mediterranean setting.

Engage in life-or-death combat, be it up close with a blade or from afar with a variety of firearms. Ambush enemies for vicious stealth takedowns, or slice them up in close-quarters duels. If you prefer firearms, wield period-authentic handguns, rifles, and shotguns to overcome any odds and doggedly eliminate the Don's enemies.

Traverse a wide range of Sicilian environments, from underground crypts and crumbling ruins to bountiful vineyards and ornate opera houses. To reach your next target or make a hurried getaway, you'll need to gallop on horseback across cobbled streets and open fields, or speed down dirt roads in authentic turn-of-the-century automobiles.

PEAK
Good game. Good story, pretty simple gameplay overall. Satisfying.

English / Anglais Disappointed... Storyline is about only 10h... in playing in silent mode (splinter cell)... It's an uncharted game with 3x less time of playing. Buy this game only when he's under 20€-15€. I only vote positively as the game is graphically beautiful and deserved to be bought only for this reason. Under full comments of negatives points : Scenario : Boring and nothing of as impactful as other MAFIA games. There were much more interesting storylines, especially considering the region in which the story takes place. Guns/armory : absolutely ridiculous... not balanced at all, play with the shotgun is more powerfull than using a rifle, WTF dude ?! Numbers of gun is restricted to a minimum, there is more interesting guns from that time who can be integrate in the universe. Gameplay : I prefer MAFIA III with a free world to explore. The "free circulation" mode is useless... Made the game in a storyline as Uncharted is a good idea but please becareful to the life time of the story... Map : A lot of parts of the map is uselless and not used in the story like sea side and the cost. Why creating a beautiful map/games without using it ?! Or using it by asking players to buy DLC out of prices ?! Conclusion : I feel like this game is unfinished in terms of its story, needing funding to stay alive. You can sense a marketing strategy to keep the game going through DLC. The problem is, I have absolutely no desire to buy DLC after playing through the story. The DLC for Mafia III was worthwhile. With this game, I don't see how anyone could be anything but disappointed by any additional content when you consider how little the story itself holds.

What a game! Hangar 13 went back to the roots of the original Mafia and delivered a tightly focused, chapter-by-chapter narrative experience with an optional standalone Free Ride mode for exploration. The story is the absolute star here. You play as Enzo Favara, starting as a young sulphur miner trapped in brutal conditions before clawing your way up through the ranks of the Torrisi crime family—eventually becoming the Don’s right-hand man. It’s an emotional, character-driven tale of loyalty, betrayal, and ambition, all rooted in the stunning early 1900s Sicilian countryside. The writing, voice acting, and atmospheric detail (especially the Sicilian dub) make it incredibly immersive. I didn’t expect this game to hit this hard—I genuinely feel bad for waiting so long to dive in. Gameplay-wise, it’s solid but very traditional. The gunplay and cover system work exactly as you’d expect from the series: reliable, weighty, and cinematic during key moments, but nothing revolutionary. Driving classic 1900s-era cars feels authentic (and occasionally chaotic), and the addition of horseback riding is a brilliant touch that fits the rural Sicilian setting perfectly. Stealth sections are competent—nothing groundbreaking, but I ran into zero major frustrations. The standout feature is the knife-duel mechanic. It’s tense, personal, and surprisingly deep: slash, thrust, parry, dodge, break guards, and deliver brutal finishers. It gives certain confrontations (especially boss fights) a real cinematic, old-school duel vibe that elevates the whole experience. The narrative pacing is superb. I was never bored—always on the edge of my seat, eager to see what happened next. The world itself is beautifully realized, full of environmental storytelling and period detail that makes 1900s Sicily feel alive, even if the open world is more of a detailed backdrop than a fully interactive sandbox. The only real issue I encountered was technical: playing with DLAA caused crashes on my setup (even though my RTX 4070 Ti Super could handle the extra load). Switching to Quality DLSS resolved it completely, and the visual difference wasn’t noticeable enough to ruin immersion. Hopefully patches continue to improve stability. In short: Mafia: The Old Country is a fantastic return to form for the series. If you loved the story-focused approach of the first two games, this one delivers in spades. It may not reinvent the wheel with gameplay, but the narrative, setting, characters, and atmosphere more than make up for it. Highly recommended—especially at a sale price. I can’t wait for more chapters or DLC. Story/Narrative — 10/10 Graphics — 10/10 Gameplay — 7/10 Atmosphere — 10/10 Sound Design — 9/10 Overall: 9.2
