About

Uncover the origins of organized crime in Mafia: The Old Country, a gritty mob story set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily. Fight to survive as Enzo Favara and prove your worth to the Family in this immersive third-person action-adventure set during a dangerous, unforgiving era.
Enzo will do anything for a better life. After a brutal childhood of forced labor, he's ready to risk everything to become a man of honor in the Torrisi crime family.
His oath to the Mafia, with all the power, temptation, and hardship it entails, is a burning reminder of this simple truth:
Family Takes Sacrifice.
This thrilling narrative is brought to life by stunning visuals, cinematic storytelling, and the authentic realism that the critically acclaimed Mafia series is known for. Enzo's story unfolds in a time when skill with a stiletto blade was a deadly asset, a lupara sawed-off shotgun was a go-to firearm, murderous vendettas raged for decades, and mafiosi patrolled their protection rackets on foot, horseback, or behind the wheel of turn-of-the-century motorcars.

The rough-hewn beauty of Sicily's rugged countryside is a stark contrast to the grime of urban alleyways—but the treachery and violence of this gangland run just as deep. Rival families and their ruthless leaders wage unending turf wars in the shadows, hidden from the public eye. Trust is a fleeting rarity, and loyalties are worth killing for.

You're the antihero of this thrilling 1900s story, living out every tense moment of Enzo's descent into Sicily’s clandestine criminal underworld. Come face-to-face with a cast of unpredictable allies and cutthroat enemies in this classic crime drama, rich in period-authentic details that will immerse you in this treacherous Mediterranean setting.

Engage in life-or-death combat, be it up close with a blade or from afar with a variety of firearms. Ambush enemies for vicious stealth takedowns, or slice them up in close-quarters duels. If you prefer firearms, wield period-authentic handguns, rifles, and shotguns to overcome any odds and doggedly eliminate the Don's enemies.

Traverse a wide range of Sicilian environments, from underground crypts and crumbling ruins to bountiful vineyards and ornate opera houses. To reach your next target or make a hurried getaway, you'll need to gallop on horseback across cobbled streets and open fields, or speed down dirt roads in authentic turn-of-the-century automobiles.

Buen mafia.
*deep sigh* So I loved the original 2 Mafia games... I really wanted to like this one, but after reading the first reviews I waited for a sale and I still feel betrayed. While the graphics and presentation are fine, the gunplay serviceable and the car-rides quite okay, the rest of the game is, sadly, mid at best. The horse-rides are stupid and feel clunky. The knive-fights are atrocious and repeated way too often. But by far the worst is the writing of the characters, story and especially the ending. Everything feels rushed, clicheed (which would be okay, its an hommage to classic Mafia-stories, if the characters had any depth to them) and plain stupid.
"Oh, the house is burning down, I should totally ignore that and catch the daughter of my boss, to get her to her room, which is probably also burning to the ground right now.
Sadly, I cant recommend this game to anyone
gameplay normale, niente di eccezionale, ma da siciliano non posso fare altro che fare i complimenti al team per il doppiaggio in siciliano, complimenti veramente! rende il gioco molto più immersivo.
4.5/10 runs pretty poorly even with frame generation and DLSS on a high end system. at 4K it was running at below 40 FPS during the very beginning, over the course of the game at 1440p there were still parts with about 60 FPS with FG enabled. all the cutscenes are rendered natively without frame generation at a much lower but stable FPS, causing very short but heavy lags transitioning from frame generated gameplay at 80-120 FPS to each and every cutscene that plays at way lower framerates. classic difficulty is way too easy, gameplay isnt really fun at all, driving feels horrible when taking turns, shooting with anything that isnt a shotgun (preferably the pump action - the GOAT) doesnt feel intuitive, mechanics are not fleshed out and feel unfinished and overall the game does not feel polished or optimized. this game is the opposite of mafia 3. in which its not focused on gameplay while neglecting cutscenes and story, but neglecting gameplay while only consisting of walking sequences, cutscenes and the occassional shooting, stealth or driving sequence. the rest of the game (about 80% of playtime) you are watching a cutscene, following an NPC, talking to an NPC, or slowly walking or driving/riding moderately fast to your next destination. theres absolutely nothing happening story wise for a good 9 out of 14 chapters. in addition to that its hard to put into words how much of this game was recycled from mafia remake. i would personally say that it goes beyond just inspiration. also the fact that the knife fight mechanic is incredibly overused throughout this game and the fights are neither challenging nor fun in the slightest. theres a good 9-10 knife fights acting as boss fights and they are genuienly tiring and hilarious whenever they appear because you are stripped of all your weapons, every single person always carries a knife at all points for some reason and every single conflict is always solved through one of these. the story itself is pretty mid, the characters didnt interest me a lot besides a very few of them, the music is really good and
hearing the mafia 2 OST at the start of the last chapter genuienly gave me goosebumps
. however the ending left me disappointed, yearning for more of a resolution and annoyed at how drawn out and poorly written and directed it was. definitely not worth it unless you are a die-hard fan of the series and definitely not for 35€ (during a sale, mind you).
nice story
I think Mafia 1 and 2 are masterpieces, but I was incredibly disappointed with 3. Pretty much everything about it, I thought the story itself sucked, the gameplay sucked, the setting sucked (who gives a single f about the Dixie Mafia? I have no interest in Dixie anything.) and I was just very worried about the direction of the franchise. I got Mafia TOC on a pretty good discount so I didn't pay full price, but I think I paid a few dollars for the first three so I didn't mind spending a bit on this one because the franchise deserves success. These developers care about their world and their stories and it shows. My initial thoughts after finishing the story; A return to the Mafia stories that I love! It feels like a Mafia game even though this is the only UE title in the series, the others all had a proprietary engine that set it apart from all other games. It's almost like L.A. Noire-esque in that I bet we look back in ten years time and it won't look great, but right now it's on the cusp of being next gen. The game is gorgeous although performance is not great yet. There was a time my 4080S was running it at under 30 fps in 4k so I had to turn settings down. The cars are so cool!!!! The time period, the location, the people, the clothing and down to every pebble on the road, it's beautiful. Some say it's a bit empty, but I guess this is how I imagine the world in that age and that area. Imagining life during this time is so wild to me because it was absolutely a time between times, a period of incredible change that is fascinating to see how people viewed various topics such as automobiles, cameras, drugs, and so much more. I am not sure why this game has gotten some hatred because it doesn't deserve it. It was a bit short, absolutely. I think that for the price and length of the game, the upcoming DLC probably should be free, but once again.... I still feel like I owe the devs a few bucks for the enjoyment I've gotten from their games. If you love the Mafia games like I do, you are going to love this as well. But get it on sale because if I had spent $60 on this I would not be nearly as satisfied with the amount of content for the price.
Overall I rate this game 6/10. The story is fantastic with tropes and throwbacks to the originals. The environmental storytelling is also very good and the simulation driving mechanic with the shifting of gears is very fun. Unfortunately this is as good as it gets, the gameplay is mediocre with basic stealth and gunplay mechanics, a limited upgrade system and a less than basic interactable world. The knife gameplay mechanic is OK, however you can only use it in boss encounters. Overall it's sad to see the regression of such a flushed out franchise. I think Mafia 3's world was heading in the right direction, it just needed more time and to building upon what the franchise had already done. It doesn't need to do everything it just needs to do it well. At $50 AUD and $35 USD it's a good pick up.
WHAT A GAME. WHAT A MOVIE. I have finished over 23 games in the last 4 years and my goodness. this game and Ghosts of Tsushima are my all time GOATs story wise. Numerous times i was in awe traversing the Italian countryside. the story had my jaw dropped at a bunch of points. the gun play was fantastic. the graphics were fantastic. the writing was fantastic. THAT ENDING, my goodness. GUTWRENCHING. not going to spoil anything but i did not expect it AT ALL. i have played all 4 games now in the mafia series. this one is my favorite BY A LONG SHOT. story was so good but not too long. there was never a monotonous grind. if anything, i rushed through the game because i wanted to know so badly what was coming next. i just finished the game & my emotions are all over the place, as is the case when one watches a moving piece of art. the game is linear - (new free ride update probably makes the countryside more open and open to exploration). i loved that. i got to focus on the story and not on figuring out where i was half the time. 10/10 Game. Enjoy.
