⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠿⠿⢛⣋⣙⣋⣩⣭⣭⣭⣭⣍⣉⡛⠻⢿⣿⣿⣿⣿ ⣿⣿⣿⠟⣋⣥⣴⣾⣿⣿⣿⡆⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡿⠟⠛⠗⢦⡙⢿⣿⣿ ⣿⡟⡡⠾⠛⠻⢿⣿⣿⣿⡿⠃⣿⡿⣿⠿⠛⠉⠠⠴⢶⡜⣦⡀⡈⢿⣿ ⡿⢀⣰⡏⣼⠋⠁⢲⡌⢤⣠⣾⣷⡄⢄⠠⡶⣾⡀⠀⣸⡷⢸⡷⢹⠈⣿ ⡇⢘⢿⣇⢻⣤⣠⡼⢃⣤⣾⣿⣿⣿⢌⣷⣅⡘⠻⠿⢛⣡⣿⠀⣾⢠⣿ ⣷⠸⣮⣿⣷⣨⣥⣶⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡟⢁⡼⠃⣼⣿ ⡟⠛⠛⠛⣿⠛⠛⢻⡟⠛⠛⢿⡟⠛⠛⡿⢻⡿⠛⡛⢻⣿⠛⡟⠛⠛⢿ ⡇⢸⣿⠀⣿⠀⠛⢻⡇⠸⠃⢸⡇⠛⢛⡇⠘⠃⢼⣷⡀⠃⣰⡇⠸⠇⢸ ⡇⢸⣿⠀⣿⠀⠛⢻⡇⢰⣿⣿⡇⠛⠛⣇⢸⣧⠈⣟⠃⣠⣿⡇⢰⣾⣿ ⣿⣿⣿⠘⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⢋⣿⠙⣷⢸⣷⠀⣿⣿⣿ ⣿⣿⣿⡇⢻⣿⣿⣿⡿⠿⢿⣿⣿⣿⠟⠋⣡⡈⠻⣇⢹⣿⣿⢠⣿⣿⣿ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⠘⣿⣿⣿⣿⣯⣽⣉⣿⣟⣛⠷⠙⢿⣷⣌⠀⢿⡇⣼⣿⣿⣿ ⣿⣿⣿⡿⢀⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣶⣤⡙⢿⢗⣀⣁⠈⢻⣿⣿ ⣿⡿⢋⣴⣿⣎⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣦⡉⣯⣿⣷⠆⠙⢿ ⣏⠀⠈⠧⠡⠉⠙⢿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠃⠉⢉⣁⣀⣀⣾
Another of the great Logistical games, this one has it's share of challenges. You will have to work your way out of the starting area, and there are a few logistical challenges to overcome beyond that. In between, you will have to time your delieveries and make the most of your cash to be successful. 10/10
This is a copy of my review for the original game. Most of my time is going into that one. For now. There are few things new buyers should be aware of: [olist][*]This game is not in any shape or form similar to Transport Tycoon. You won't be optimizing routes, building long-lasting production chains, planning complex routes for dozens upon dozens vehicles, etc, etc. Instead you will be managing up to 15 not-so-smart trucks making sure they can fulfill demands of each and every town you find. Which can get a bit hectic. [*]This game is for patient people. You probably won't experience the real difficulty it can throw at you for a while (and by that I mean many hours of preparation and unlocking every tool the game can offer you) [*]Many reviews mention "having to overcome UI", well, it got much better. And it keeps improving. In all honesty, being late to the party, I haven't had much trouble with figuring it out. [*]This is not an achievement spam game. Each and any of the achievements require work. Sure, some are extremely easy, but some others are very hard.[/olist] As for the game itself, it's the most addicting purchase I made in years. After playing for few hours I just bought everything that was available at the moment, because I knew I'll play it eventually. It might not be for everyone, probably far from it, but it's a great game if you can see its charm.
LOGistICAL: Japan, developed and published by Sacada, is a sprawling logistics puzzle experience that disguises its depth behind a deceptively straightforward premise. Rather than presenting itself as a traditional management simulator filled with flashy visuals or guided objectives, it focuses almost entirely on the intricacies of supply chains across a detailed map of Japan. The result is a game that feels less like a business simulation and more like an enormous, interconnected puzzle where every action contributes to a larger web of dependencies. The central goal is simple on paper: deliver the required goods to each town until its demands are satisfied. In practice, however, this objective unfolds into a highly complex system where resources must be sourced, processed, and transported across vast distances. Many goods cannot be obtained directly and instead require multiple stages of production, each relying on other materials that must also be delivered from different locations. This creates a layered structure where solving one problem often introduces several new ones, pushing players to think several steps ahead at all times. It is a game that rewards planning and punishes short-term thinking, as inefficient routes or poorly managed resources can quickly slow progress across the entire map. What makes the experience particularly compelling is its scale. With hundreds of towns scattered across the landscape, each presenting its own requirements, the game offers an immense amount of content. Some areas can be completed with relatively simple deliveries, acting as entry points for understanding the mechanics, while others demand careful coordination between multiple industries and transport routes. The sense of progression does not come from unlocking abilities or advancing a storyline, but from mastering increasingly complex logistical challenges. Over time, players begin to see patterns in the system, learning how to streamline operations and optimize their networks in ways that were not immediately obvious at the start. The gameplay revolves around managing a fleet of vehicles, constructing and upgrading industries, and maintaining the infrastructure needed to keep goods flowing. Decisions about which trucks to use, which routes to prioritize, and when to invest in repairs or upgrades all play a crucial role in overall efficiency. Larger vehicles offer greater capacity but are limited by road conditions, while smaller ones provide flexibility at the cost of throughput. This constant balancing act adds a strategic layer that keeps the game engaging, as players must adapt their approach based on the terrain and the specific demands of each region. One of the defining characteristics of LOGistICAL: Japan is its open-ended structure. Players are not forced into a linear progression and can choose which areas to tackle and in what order. This freedom allows for creative problem-solving, as there are often multiple ways to approach a challenge. At the same time, it can be overwhelming, particularly for those unfamiliar with this type of gameplay. The game offers little in the way of handholding, expecting players to learn through experimentation and gradually build their understanding of the system. This makes the early hours feel daunting, but it also contributes to the sense of accomplishment that comes from overcoming its challenges. Visually, the game takes a functional approach that prioritizes information over presentation. The map is detailed enough to reflect real-world geography, but the interface is dense and utilitarian, focusing on clarity rather than aesthetic appeal. This design choice suits the game’s emphasis on strategy, as it ensures that players can easily track resources, routes, and objectives. However, it may also make the game less inviting to those who prefer more visually engaging experiences, as there is little in the way of graphical flair or dynamic presentation. The pacing is deliberately slow, encouraging careful planning rather than quick decision-making. Progress can take time, as even small improvements to a supply chain may require multiple adjustments and a significant investment of resources. Completing the entire map is a long-term endeavor that demands patience and persistence, making the game more of a commitment than a casual pastime. For players who enjoy deep, methodical gameplay, this slow pace can be incredibly satisfying, but it may feel tedious for those looking for immediate feedback or faster progression. Ultimately, LOGistICAL: Japan stands out as a highly focused and deeply engaging puzzle experience that rewards thoughtful planning and strategic thinking. It does not attempt to appeal to a broad audience, instead embracing its complexity and offering a challenge that is both demanding and rewarding. While its steep learning curve, minimal presentation, and deliberate pacing may limit its accessibility, those who invest the time to understand its systems will find a rich and absorbing experience that offers countless hours of problem-solving. Rating: 7/10
Start slow but pretty nice country. Personally I'd prefer to turn off japanese letters in town names (they're also in english so fear not).
