Legends of Dionysos. Gives me major Fate vibes. (Pre-installed Windows game from back in the day.) Pros: Beautiful music. Character creation. Side scrolling is a nice feature, the background art is aesthetically pleasing. Cons: Recommends playing with a controller for the best experience on PC... Some of the quest text has missing or poor punctuation. Moderate motion sickness when moving. Not very fluid movements between the character, foreground, and background. Overall it's a nostalgic side-scrolling action RPG where reaction time certainly matters. It has some amazing potential, I just feel that it needs some fine tuning. Will update my review when I've played the game more.
Great Game! I'ts insane that this is a solo project.
Those damn Ice Golems! Controllers advised. It's simply for slaying some foes the oldschool way.
Its a fun retro game which transports me back into the golden age of gaming. The crisp control and the seemless class switching makes the game so good. I love to evolve different tacticts between the classes. Overall its a lovely game which also hase been made by one person, which is amazing!
Legends of Dionysos is a 2,5D Action RPG that combines RPG elements with fast paced gameplay and hordes of enemies! While playing the game, I found out that I love side scrolling game XD (Feels like Elsword). Minmaxing your character while level up and grind the loot. While the art style still seems lacking, I can feel the dev passion for the game. I go to the right side and slay some boss like the king and the orc (I forgot the name of the first and second horde boss). While playing, I found out that the game is optimized for controller since the mouse & keyboard feels janky af. Since there is no noticeable different between the two unnamed race except from their face and their leg stance, I don't think there is a need for a second race. Focus on the character development of one race and get to the second or third race later. I think the character-building option should be provided while the character wearing minimum equipment. Can't really see any difference with all that armor. Clarity wise, Having the quality and difficulty in setting can be controlled using a slider is a bad move, it would do better if you use normal button choose. And if you use a controller, there is a slight bug in character creation that I would explain later. Sometime the text is bigger than textbox (this is annoying for people with ADHD). And after you get inside the game, there is no direction except that you feel like you need to rescue elinpai (her whereabout is unknown). Balance wise, I would list what I feel all the weapon and the skill that need rebalancing below. Sword & Shield: - Dash slash -> Need bigger area for back attack - Heal -> Too OP. I don't feel like you need any potion at all - Health upgrade -> Too good if heal doesn't get rebalancing - Shield stun -> feels useless since the range is too small and the effect is too little Great sword: - Dash slash -> Need bigger area for back attack - Slash wave -> Jumps and charge time is too long and not useful in combat - Power buff -> Feels lacking, either need upgrade or need rework (like range add) Bow: - Normal attack -> Arrow isn't visible to naked eye - Charged Arrow -> Why is charged arrow slower than the normal attack? - Tumble -> I don't see the use of this if it's not stunning the enemy - Movement buff -> It's better to change this to dodge buff Staff: - Flamethrower -> Cool. Here are some of the notable things I find. Bug: - There is a bug that make user can't sell item since the vendor backpack is full. (Why even be a shop viable to selling if you can't sell anything without buying anything?) For this, maybe adding a separate sheet for selling would help. - If it's horde game, enemy shouldn't spawn near the player. - There is a bug that if you open a portal near the shop, the portal would be unusable. Make the player unusable to use portal scroll near NPC can prevent this. Inconvenience: - Mouse & Keyboard mode is annoying. - I don't see any difference while doing character creations. - There is no direction on what to do after tutorial dreams. Admittedly I didn't play for long. If the combat looked like slop/jank to you then playing this will likely validate your assumption, as it did mine.
Schönes Spiel. Die Steuerung mit der Tastatur ist ganz schnell gelernt. Macht Laune.
Nice, kleines feines Indiespiel für Zwischendurch.
Great game, improved a lot since I first played the demo!
Das Spiel ist sehr gelungen. Ich finde es gut, dass die Steuerung ganz unkompliziert ist und trotzdem recht viele Möglichkeiten bieten. 10 EUR ist es auf jeden Fall wert.
