About
Learning Factory is a relaxing automation game, which lets you concentrate on the most important task in the Universe: making cats happy again.
You're a humble genius scientist who gets invited to become the chief engineer at an abandoned Factory on Mars, designed to produce and sell exquisite goods for cats. It was conceived to learn everything about cats and make them happy, but it is desolated now, and cats are leaving Factory Stores unhappy and empty-pawed.

Now you have a chance to continue the research and development of goods that feline hearts long for! Simply follow these steps on your way to a scientific breakthrough:
Renovate an abandoned factory on Mars
Design and automate production chains
Produce and sell exquisite goods to cats
Collect and analyze data with Machine Learning
Scale and make the factory more efficient
Make cats happy!
Rebuild the ancient Monument
Establish Catopia in the feline society!
Sales at the Factory Stores generate tons of data which is later analyzed by real-life machine learning in order to unlock the in-depth nature of the feline mind.
But hey: no pressure! In this fail-safe environment, the key to success is to keep trying and stay curious. Experiment, optimize, automate - and keep creating a giant cat-catering factory on Mars. Eventually you will find the key to a better future for humans and cats (and also maybe dogs, dogs are kinda ok, too)!
The game is backed up with real Machine Learning, links to handpicked educational videos, and an in-game wiki to be used as learning material.

Прекрасный менеджмент: добывайте ресурсы, производите товар и продавайте его котикам. Когда доведёте всё до автоматизма, можно смотреть, как капают вам денежки.
I really don't know exactly how to review this game. If you Have Experience with factory games and are looking for a challenge then this game is something to look into. Especially for the Price, $15 For the level of complexity in this game has is an insane deal. However, The complexity is where I have difficulty. I have played some factory games but I would probably need at least another many thousand hours in factory games to fully complete a spread sheet of numbers for this game, ...... It is not a bad factory game, I have played a Lot worse, and the price is amazing. The amount of headache I went through trying to get to the endgame was just too much for me and I basically started playing the game for an hour or two each day, then stopping and clearing my head with something else. ...... So Early Game is not that bad. You have a line of cats and you have a store. At most you have like 3 or 4 different types of cat to Juggle into different stores. Each cat requests maybe 3 or 4 different items max. Then as you progress suddenly you have 8 different cats to Juggle and they each can order somewhere between 10 or 14 different items, not to mention some cats can randomly choose to "Upgrade" (become another cat from the list of 8 different cats) once they reach the store. It does tell you which cat will upgrade to what other type of cat, however, is there a way to make them "Upgrade" before they reach the store? I don't know. My Brain melted trying to separate all the cats into different stores with all the items they could request also separated per store. Also i would be nice if could pause the graph and hover you mouse over a spot to get numbers. I ended up tearing down my factory line and setting it up again like 4 times trying to makes space to cram everything into the proper store. Not to mention that the list of items each cat will buy from your store is hard to figure out until they start buying stuff and you hear "A NEW ITEM WAS REQUESTED AT THE STORE!!!!" Then you have the Legendary Cats, I have no clue what causes them to arrive, I encountered 19 and there are 34 in total. These Legendary cats randomly get spit into the line of cats at some point and will request a very special items. If you don't have your factory set up so that you can catch these Legendary Cats and set them aside to tend to them later then too bad, they get sent away once they reach your store and realize you don't have their item. ...... I wish there was a way to know every single item a cat could buy before they buy it, i wish i knew what triggered the legendary cats, I wish the list of items requested per cat was a little smaller, I wish the graphs had a few more legibility features, and Most importantly I wish I could trigger a cat upgrading to a different cat instead of having them upgrade once they reached the store. ...... Now some Complaints that are not about the cats. I think there is somethings about the research tree that make no sense. Worst example I can remember was the concrete flooring being all the way at the end of the research tree and it mainly is used for filling in the underground lava and water pools and at that point in the game you probably already have enough bridges built over all the underground stuff that I saw no reason to bother with concrete flooring. The UI is a total Mess at times, Like 35% of the screen can be cover with "Dr Katz Requests" "Event Notifications" "New CV Received" ...... Overall, Not a terrible Factory game. it gives your some decent tools to build with but learning how to use those tools effectively can require a lot of time and headaches. By far the thing that drove me nuts the most was the cat "Upgrade" system and the amount of items a cat could order.
I got this in a bundle, although it's worth the base Steam price. It's a solid factory optimisation and logistics sim, which offers a bit of head scratching but isn't overly complex and has no fail states. You have to be somewhat self motivated to improve and optimise the factory as you could just let the game idle and unlock pretty much everything, but assuming you engage, the core loop is enjoyable and addictive. The game offers up some real world info as you unlock new factory features, so there is an 'educational game' angle, but this isn't anything to write home about. It is presented nicely enough, and most things work as intended, however there are some framerate drops and fiddly controls on Steam Deck. In summary, some minor sticking points, but a well made and enjoyable relaxing optimisation game.
It's playable. It's an interesting spin on this genre. I think it starts of way too quickly and piles way too many features on top of the player. It took me very long to figure out some of the early stuff that I managed to skip "thanks" to that. The machine learning is something I don't understand the point of at all, and it makes the game kinda random and it's difficult to figure out what I'm doing wrong to make the cats unhappy. It feels like it was a core idea to the game, but then it fell flat on its' face and was just left in. The UI probably doesn't help. It's the worst UI I saw in a game that wasn't just a cash grab. Can we give it a game award for this? It's so bad there would be a new kind of mental illness if more people played this game. Also, what is the point of having a character? It doesn't add anything and it just substracts. You bump into everything and get slowed by everything and even with the upgrades it doesn't feel good moving around. In satisfactory, the character is really well connrected to the story, and playing a 3D game with just a camera would be dissorienting. In factorio, you can die and shoot. But for example shapez was doing fine without a playable character. In this game the story is nonsensical and it just feels like we have it because factorio did it. As a last point, it seems to have a lot of educational stuff? I don't think there's much to learn. It couldn't even teach me how to play the game, how am I supposed to learn anything else from it. I know some basics of how machine learning works, but the UI didn't allow me any of my basic knowledge to what is happening, so in the end I probably unlearned a few things. And why teach what a fish is, in a game like this? It could work if we we're hundreds of years post apocalypse, but as of writing this, we're not. This is a game where I really struggle with the steam review system. Would I recommend this game? No. But is it so bad I want people to stay away from it? Also no.
This game is awsome! If one day someone asks what benefit does a game have I will show them Learning Factory! This game is full of calculations and logical matters! Great gameplay, educational purpose, feature rich, and also real life uses are the good points of this game. I love the dev team and played both games they released so far and asked for the new game playtest access also! Supported till the end! RECOMMENDED
Отличная игра, всем рекомендую! Нет врагов и давления, можно оставить и отлучиться. Получаю удовольствие от создания производства мотков пряжи и картонных коробок))
Великий котозавод
10/10 Factory building and automation game. Believe it or not, I'm enjoying it more than Factorio. I can't believe I didn't discover this game sooner. It has SO MANY quality of life and it clearly shows it's been made with lots of love!
Factorio with cats. No enemies, only cat(?) customers that you want to sell your goods for and satisfy them. There are some Machine learning component that the game tries to teach you (This area needs some improvement in my opinion). Is it well optimized? To a point yes, but expect fps drops in late game. Do I recommend it? Yeah it's quite fun.
