Laserlife is a twin stick rhythm game where each 'level' is a memory fragment of a dead astronaut, which is pretty metal. The graphics and sound are really good, and you'll only spend 2, maybe 3 hours total on the game. There's three 'memories', which are broken up into four 'levels'. Each level contains 3 continuous 'phases', and in each one you control a pair of laserbeams mapped to your control sticks. Phase one you hit the shoulder buttons on your gamepad to 'collect' memory fragments, phase 2 where you simply move the sticks to pass through targets, and phase 3 which is simply avoid-the-hazards. Phases 2 and 3 are incredibly fun and addicting. Phase 1 is absolutely, mind-numbingly awful. The 'fragments' you need to collect come at you at oblique angles, and give no real promise to where exactly you need your lasers to be to grab them. Imagine if say guitar hero twisted the board to make it look like button1 was actually button3. It's annoying and I found myself frustrated until i got to the far better Phase 2. It doesn't help phase 1's visuals are always the same for four levels at a time(just with different note layouts). Otherwise the game is fun and unique and good for a quick play, but lack of replayability might warrant waiting for a sale.
시체에서 기억 뽑아내는 게임 떨어지는 노트를 받아치는 게 아니라 좀 특이한 리듬게임이었는데.. 배경이 화려하고 좋다
Really cool.
I really liked this game a lot. I got this game for free off Intel Gaming Access and it was in a selection of a few games. I got to choose three and this one was my last choice but I didn't realize how good of a choice it was. This is a smaller game but don't let that discourage you from trying it. This is made by a smaller studio and you can see that through the credits. The amount of work put into this game though is amazing. The story of the game is reliving the moments and memories from a dead astronaught. I wish there was more a background story in like a extras area of the game that would be really cool. This game is extremely well optimized and I mean this as a compliment, this game could run on a toaster. By default the settings were low on my labtop. I have a 1650ti and I was able to run the game at 120fps 1080p with no frame drops while playing the game. The menu screen is 60fps while in game i think is 120 but that is the display refresh rate for my labtop. The music was really good to for this game and I enjoyed it. I don't know if there is a sound track for it but that would be cool. It would also be cool if there was a split screen co-op but given that this was made by a small studio that would be a big undertaking. I would totally recommend this game to anyone who like games with music, beatsaber, or both. This is a really good game to test your reflexes too. Put it on hard and you have a challenge. The only people I would not recommend this game for is people who have seizure issues with lights. My older brother has issues but thankfully this was on my labtop and not the tv. This game requires controller and you will need one. Even if you could use mouse and keyboard it would be extemely difficult. Too bad there isn't any VR for this game. Great job to the developers for making this game! Hope this review was helpful and have fun!
A chilled out rhythm game with interesting visuals and some nice tunes that I wish I could recommend but cannot. I finished the game on the medium difficulty and it was fun until it wasn't. The fun lies in hitting the notes on the beat but that only lasts until the controls let you down and you don't know where your thumbs should be pointing to pick up those notes. I played with a xbone controller and maybe with a different controller this game would be much more fun but as it stands it feels more like tech demo for a different controller and not a game that works out of the box properly. Want to recommend but sadly cannot.
evil, but memorably different
I don't know about this one. The levels seem too long, and if you're trying to get a high score/collect memory particles, you NEED TO FOCUS through the somewhat meh rhythm. If you plan to take a break after beating a level, it seems that you're not allowed to and have to start from the entire start. You can't enter that checkpoint from the menu. From what I've played, you'll need to constantly be holding the thumbsticks out, which gets uncomfortable pretty quickly. This will mostly depend on what type of controller you use, but I assume it will not feel great regardless of controller. Eh
Main gripe with this is the visuals. They use a bunch of random objects that don't fit with the trance theme. It just breaks the immersion. As if instead of paying someone to create assets that fit the theme, they chose to use random assets they had. Imagine this, you get at the end of a run and a big brown teddy bear pops up. They could of at least applied a filter to those object. And all the assets could of used more polish honestly, it looks cheap. Game is also very short. Gameplay and music are good. I recommend Rez instead.
An experimental rhythm game, and an interesting one at that. The music, though, is a bit lacking...
Spectacular visuals, great music and controller breaking action. The story actually has depth which is surprising for what is ostensibly a rhythm game. Good for controller/screen tracking training. Play it with a friend so you can get a decent look at the pretty whilst they're having their turn.
