About

The Cold is Just the Beginning.
A scientific expedition to the desolate Zhokhov Island is completely disrupted while abnormal magnetic anomalies occur. Among the team is Anna, a young geophysicist with a clouded past and a sharp mind. When disaster strikes and the crew becomes trapped in a long-forgotten Soviet military base beneath the permafrost, Anna must fight to survive and uncover the truth hidden beneath the ice.
But something else is buried here.
As she searches for a way out, Anna is haunted by surreal visions, grotesque figures, and distorted echoes of a twisted past. The deeper she goes, the more she feels drawn to this place, as if it strangely welcomes her back.
The cold may be deadly, but what lies beneath is far more chilling.

Classic Survival Horror, Reimagined
Kriophobia is a return to the roots of third-person psychological horror, where story, survival, and atmosphere are core. Inspired by genre classics like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Rule of Rose and Haunting Ground, this is a slow-burning, symbol-rich experience where every shadow matters and every step forward reveals more than it should.
Evade or confront, your choice. Combat is tense, creatures are unforgiving, and often best avoided entirely.
Survive the elements. Resources are limited, the cold is lethal, and every decision counts.
Explore a broken legacy. Navigate the ruins of Cold War obsession and personal trauma through exploration, puzzles, and atmospheric storytelling.
Experience striking visuals. A unique art style blending comic book ink with painterly textures, brought to life through hand-crafted static camera angles.
Hear the haunting echoes. An eerie Slavic-inspired soundtrack immerses you in dread and loneliness as Anna's fractured history unfolds.
Some places should stay buried. Some memories should not.

Unique, Nostalgic and Beautifull. Kriophobia is Great! The game reminds the classics of Resident Evil/Silent Hill , so don't expect a game that hold your hand, you need to be smart, pay attention to your surroundings and take care of your inventory. The Game is very well crafted with a beautifull HQ Comics like art. Some animations are kinda stiff here and there but nothing that compromise your experience. I really missed the voice dub in the game, i think this could really make the characters feel more alive. But dont let this fool you, Kriophobia offers a solid experience and enough content to explore. Is very unique with strong identity and a good nostalgia effect.
Wait, I think I'm going the wrong way. Better turn around. Game wants me to go to sensors. I see sensor, I try to walk to sensor, game no let me go to sensor. Me big dumb apparently for wanting walk to sensor. Map even shows a line to sensor. Game too smart for me, apparently. I tried walking straight to the next sensor, can't. I tried following the dirt paths, can't. I tried quitting the game, I could! Edit: The game gives you a map of all the sensors, tells you "Let's start with the first one, then come back." You're supposed to come back, they give you a radio, and then you can actually go calibrate the sensors. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ backtracking in the first 30 min? For no good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason? The dialogue was already needlessly wordy. I already got my objective. Just let me play the video game. Give me the map, give me the radio, in a single cutscene, and let me play the game. Actually, nevermind, I don't want to.
10/10 silent hill experience
Had to leave a review because of how beautiful this game is. I love the old school feel, mixed with truly frightening moments. If you like horror games, this is a must play. Just make sure to keep some hand warmers on you :P
A chilling love letter to classic survival horror! I've only played for about an hour, but I'm already hooked and intrigued. The cold atmosphere creates a genuine sense of dread right from the start. It gives off strong Resident Evil vibes—it feels like a stylized PS2 Classic but with the polish of modern graphics and smooth movement. I really appreciate the survival mechanics here. Resources are scarce and the limited inventory forces you to make tough choices, making the use of the storage chest and save points crucial. If you're looking for that nostalgic survival horror feeling, I highly recommend this!
Maybe not as spectacular as "Alone in the Dark" (2024), but a good oldschool as "Alone in the Dark" (1992) survival horror in 3D with fixed cameras in abandoned soviet secret bunker setting.
Its okay for a indie game made by a small studio in Brazil, and gladly they finally got some dialogue in there. But the gameplay is lacking and the story isn't really there to make it that worthwhile playing. If you think you're a niche gamer and still wanna go for it, then don't let anyone stop you. (Just realized I spent 11 bucks on this, I can't say it was that worth it.
Pretty much Alan Wake without the need for Batteries. The Puzzles are cool, the combat is basic but servicable and the story is great. Final fight really got me in the feels
