Boomer arena FPS that literally just takes place in a single arena. The game as a whole feels cheap, it's monotonous and I didn't even make it pass the 12th round so you can only imagine what feels like having to progress to the end. Maybe it's a skill issue but the enemies are really hard to defeat and thus I didn't make it far as I previously mentioned.
I know the dev gets a lot of hate and I don't like to trash cheap games usually but this game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad. the movement is terrible, the weapons and enemies are either ripped from devil daggers or feel incredibly lazy and uninspired. This game is steaming ♥♥♥♥, don't bother. and a note to devs everywhere: STOP FORCE CAPPING YOUR GAMES AT 60FPS
Try to Survive !
Demon Pit is an arena survival game totally inspired by Doom ! The arena game is quite interesting but copies Doom a lot in the designs of enemies, sounds etc You will be able to access a lot of weapons (like a Doom) and you will have to survive as much as possible in front of waves of enemies and the arena which changes quite often, while staying in the same place... It's the only thing in this game but it's quite decent ! The gameplay is convincing even unfortunately it still has a few things to say such as the imprecision of certain weapons or the rather slow movement at times for no reasons, weird to control at the first time... As a general rule, the game remains a good stress reliever with a classification that is unfortunately quite underdeveloped (you cannot see the 1st players if you are ranked in the last ones for example) The fact that I don't recommend this game is not for its gameplay and its level design but for its price. The game is quite simple and interesting but too expensive for what it is !
🏆 For the Achievements 🏆
The achievements are quite Skills depending ! You will have to succeed in surviving 60 waves in 1 time, which is not that easy ! https://youtu.be/2ZlHeD6S47Q Arena combat with enemies that are very much bullet sponges is far less enjoyable that weaker more frequent spawn sets.
This was really close to being a good game but just isn't there. The art/animations/environment are all nicely done, as are the OST and sound effects. There's some decent enemy variety and the guns feel satisfying enough to use. There's only one arena but it changes with each wave of enemies. The biggest issue is that it isn't randomized at all. Every time you play, the waves are in the exact same order. You receive the weapons in the same order, the arena changes the same way, and the enemies spawn the same. For a game emphasizing replayability with highscores this kills it. By just my fourth time dying, I already was getting tired of doing it all over again. The movement is lacking. Running around and using the "teleport" mechanic were good, but jumping is terrible. You have this tiny little hop that is essentially useless. On wave 14/15, the ammo pickups are placed in a spot where you need to jump and it becomes very noticeable how bad it is. For full price, I'd say it's probably not worth it and there isn't enough content to justify it. On sale for -85%, it can provide a decent hour of entertainment or be a short time killer. Thus, this is only a positive review for it on sale.
Demon Pit is a simplistic first person wave survival arena shooter and dumbed down ripoff of Quake/DooM. You're in a low poly arena and shoot waves of enemies pretty much ripped off from DooM, pick up weapons and see how many waves you can survive. So basically DooM but with all the level design and progression ripped out of it. I'm wondering who sat down and thought, "Well, games like DooM, Quake, DooM eternal are fun, but what gamers really want is a dumbed down version of those with worse graphics". Oh wait, I know who, the developers of Demon Pit. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Demon Pit has an overly optimistic price of around $9 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. Quake and DooM are also free to play, and deeper and higher quality than this game.
so bad...
It's not really all that enjoyable, especially due to the low framerate (on my 4070, mind you), barely readable visuals (too much red) and just "meh" controls. The music is cool, though.
