Fun and sometimes challenging tower defense!
Fun game to play. I've really enjoyed playing it - still do. Some levels are hard (you need to think ahead) game strategy is good. But I will say that is not game for "everyday" - why? Because it's relatively easy when you get hang for it. It's quite addictive and nerve braking "just on behalf that thinking and understanding what myth be next move of enemy". So, I could say that I finish a game in a 1-2d because it is addictive - but once you finish its relatively easy next time. Over all experience 5/10.

Super fun tower defense game! I love it! Have been waiting for this port to non-vr because although I have played games in VR, I'd like to sit back and relax and smoke a cigar while playing tower defense. The camera needs to be addressed though. Here is my suggestion: At the beginning of the level (before starting), move the camera smoothly from [the default starting position right now] to a nice overview position in the level, where you can see all the tower-points and the path. This will give the user the nice starting view (like in VR), but its nice if you dont have to manually move the cam to get some overview. At the completion of the level (after ending), move the camera automatically smoothly from [where-ever the player left it] to a nice position where you can see the level and the fireworks. So the player can enjoy his/her victory even more, without having to manually move the cam to see the fireworks.
Finally a good alternative to Tower Wars, pitty they never followed up on that one Does get a bit annoying with the layouts blocking weaponry's view and little kitties no selling damage. Once you get rocketry that's pretty much all you need it seems, and no point upgrading them. For the price it's well worth it, i played for nearly 3hrs straight on the first play through and wasn't getting annoyed until level 6/15 as the layout and having to defend 2 points at once is hard to get started. Having played Pro's Cheap Fun concept Kitties make kitty noise and where various hilarious costumes :P Graphics are nice Easy to learn and it's not too repetitive Kitty AI isn't completely stupid, it runs outside of line of sites in some cases and doesn't always come to and from the same directions each replay Cons The AI for the turrets can be aggrivating, ignoring kitties right in line of site or trying to fire through walls Layouts of maps can be annoying Selling weaponry you only get 50% of cost back Scouts cats are very annoying, they seem to no sell damage at times There is a story but it seem abstract
Great tower defense game. Like it should be. Ever wanted to blow up kitties in cardboard, styrofoam pantzer? The only thing which is inconvenient for me, is that I can't play in full HD (anymore?) It's always in 1600x920 even if I select 1920x1080 . Game on :) I luv this game!
Everything needed for a good game except the ability to see the playing field. Not much fun if you can't rotate the field of view.
No. It is NOT your imagination. That look 'is' disdain. They 'are' watching you. Soon... Kitty-tastic! Really well polished!
I am a fan of all things Tower Defence, but I just can't get into this game. Have tried a number of times, but my eyes just start to glaze!! PS This despite the fact I have seven cats
Kittypocalypse is a VR centric tower defense game rendered in 3D and with an unusual comedy premise, the waves of enemies you have to fight off are space cats. The premise is kind of amusing but they don't go anywhere with it. It's almost like a co-incidence that the enemies are cats rather than any story centric purpose, so that's a wasted opportunity. This does work as a game, however, more or less. 4K resolution support, a few graphics tweaks, a reasonable looking engine and decent enough art assets. Kittypocalypse is certainly not the worst TD on Steam, to the point it's almost, but not quite, recommendable. What broke the deal for me was the lack of polish, especially with crucial aspects of the gameplay. The towers are buggy, and they sometimes completely ignore cats running by them, opting to sit still and not shoot at all, instead. I think if there's one thing that a TD game must get right, it's going to have to be "having the towers shoot the baddies". There's no "maybe" options in Steam, but Kittypocalypse deserves one. It's not bad, but it's not great either and the $10 USD price tag coupled with the deficiencies pushes this just millimetres out of reach of a thumbs up.
