6.9/10 - Finished after 50 hours, not worth the time. There is fun to be found in the combat and especially in the interactions between mercenaries, I often caught myself smiling at those. The problem is that the game becomes repetitive very quickly. Once you’ve established an effective combat strategy, every encounter turns into the same routine you keep repeating until the end. A major issue is how shallow both combat and equipment systems are. On the equipment side, there’s no convenient way to compare weapons, and weapon customization is limited to a small pool of attachments. On the combat side, leveling up mercenaries offers only a narrow selection of perks, which further reduces build variety. Enemy variety is also lacking. For most of the game, you fight the same basic goons, with only a slight shift in the mid-game when some units wearing heavy armor and throwing explosives appear. Overall, there simply isn’t enough depth or variety to justify a 50-hour playthrough. The length feels artificially inflated by repetition rather than meaningful content.

Sure, not as good as Jagged Alliance 2, but still a good game.
An excellent continuation of the Jagged Alliance series. It’s nowhere near as large-scale as the second game, but it’s far better than all the previous attempts to revive the franchise. The developers managed to preserve the atmosphere and the characters. However, the character designs feel a bit overly cartoonish at times — I would have preferred slightly more realistic portraits. Definitely full marks for the modern and well-placed humor. The music is fantastic and fits the atmosphere perfectly. The main storyline is fairly short, but the game has plenty of standalone side missions. I’d like to see a sequel with a larger map and expanded levels.
This is my first Jagged Alliance game ever...so I kinda went in blind. Heard some friends enjoying it. Started 1st play through without mods - it's very rough. Great way to understand the game, right before you add all the mods. You don't get a lot of resources so I felt timid about trying new mods on wpns. The game's experience changes exponentially with mods! I have like 20+, mostly focused around quality of life. I'd say focus on the most popular mods for sure. The entire play-through feels very much like an 80's-90's action hero vibe and most of the characters have unique interactions with other characters which makes it feel more alive and really humorous :). Strong recommendation: try using the 'Auto-Resolve' feature as much as you can - otherwise you'll have a lot of mundane fights that don't really add value to the game. There are a lot of side characters that you can recruit that have the funniest lines. Oh, I forgot about the talent trees! It's not super extensive, but adds decent buffs to your character. Anyway, would recommend: 9.5/10
I hate this game sometimes. But dang it, I respect it. I found myself making thermal scopes for dust storms, actually being forced to adapt. Not many games do this. You win this round, devs.
One of the best turn based tactics games I have played in a while. The writing is super cheesy but in a good way. I had a really good time with it. 9/10.
