DO NOT BUY Game is fun but it has wide spread constant crashing issues. Its all over the forums, videos, reddit ect. Nothing that was suggested works for me so far. They have not fixed it so I would avoid for now.
It took them more than two decades but they finally did it and gave us a proper sequel worthy of the name. They definitely captured the charm of JA2. Sir-Tech would be proud. I honestly had low expectations given how lackluster their Omerta game was but i was pleasantly surprised just how good this turned out to be. Especially the combat. As an X-COM fan too. This hits all the rights spots in terms of the combat system. I never tire of blowing up groups of enemies into chunks of meat with Barry and his trusty kaboom charges. From the presentation to the gameplay to the voice work and terrific soundtrack. They did their homework and it shows. All it's missing is a Sci-Fi mode.
I really wish I could give this game a positive review. The AP and aiming systems are really nice and far superior to the XCOM movement and action system, the overall setting and environments are cool, and the writing and voice acting is good and funny at times. However, stealth is completely broken. Enemies detect something they shouldn't from across the map, enemies notice things in the complete opposite direction of where they are looking, stealth takedowns just don't activate sometimes and your merc stands in front of the enemy doing nothing, the "Lightning Reactions" perk, enemies sometimes get lobotomised and walk straight through your squad without noticing anything... It goes on and on. When trying to do stealth in this game, be prepared to constantly quicksave and reload when some nonsensical bullcrap happens. Oh yeah, and the load times are really long too. The mod editor is a nice idea, but extremely confusing and hard to use. The internal game variables that you can access are just magic strings with absolutely no context about what they contain, and Lua being a dynamically-typed language doesn't help. I don't understand how you're supposed to write Lua code scripts when there is zero useful documentation for accessing internal game variables.
Half CRPG like Wasteland 2+3. Half tactical strategy game like XCOM 1/2. Yeah, it's as good as it sounds. Actually, better. I'm maybe halfway through, and I'm already excited about my next playthrough. Can't wait to see how a different (and very reactive) set of mercs respond to everything, alongside all the exciting tactical implications of mixing up my builds. Now, 1-2 weeks later I',ess enthused. Combat remoges the death of fhaacters fir all of us to oplay. tw all want to poayl. but that[s the tproblem,. epople acan play and people hpapy,r ighjt>
A solid turn-based tactical game with interesting strategy and RPG elements that can keep you busy and entertained for many, many hours. Fun, funny characters whose interactions with each other and the environment bring amusement to a well-built and immersive world. The soundtrack is great and the score is one of the better ones that I've ever heard in any game. Replayability is somewhat limited. The maps are not procedurally generated so they'll be the same every time but employing different mercs and making different choices can marginally affect outcomes. Fans of X-Com and other turn based tactical games will feel right at home. Get it! It's worth your time and money.
This is the first game bearing the Jagged Alliance name since JA2 that has actually delivered a JA experience and it's a damn good one.
Nice!
Really good game one of the best I have played. The mods make the game even better it is worth the 45 dollars
I liked the game up until yesterday when the multiplayer dropped out. I can't recommend it until I can actually play my game with my brother again.
