Writing this before I've finished the game. So, when Ittle Dew 2 came out it had a mostly positive rating. The devs worked hard to make a better game and dubbed it Ittle Dew 2+. I haven't looked into all of the changes they made from the release version, but I will say this. The plus version is pretty good. I might change my opinion later. So onto the review. Ittle Dew 2 is a bit strange in that they changed the design from Ittle Dew 1. Ittle Dew 1 felt like a perfectly designed puzzle game with some really bad combat. You could complete the game in any order, but I'd guess most people took the same path in 1. Ittle dew 2 goes crazy and gives you complete freedom to complete the dungeons in any order. Everything is open from the start. Along with this, the devs decided to limit backtracking. This means the devs have needed to simplify a lot of puzzles. This means the pacing of the overworld exploration feels fast, smooth and fun. Secrets and puzzles around every corner that you can always solve. I will add more to this review as I finish the game. I recommend you play both Ittle Dew 1 and 2. 1 feels more like a puzzle game with zelda gameplay whereas 2 feels more like a zelda game. Good stuff. Some other reviewers have pointed out that the dodge roll is unforgiving and needed for puzzle. I think mqybe it's a tiny bit too short, but it's very usable. Failing a dodge roll is okay. Respawns are fast. I can see myself changing the review to negative if the later dungeons become too difficult. There are shortcuts in dungeond and you can pick up items in multiple locations. This means there are some challenge runs like in the first game.

In my opinion the Ittle Dew series is the best Zelda clones out there. With the first Ittle Dew, while you can take your time with it, it feels like it is geared more towards speed running; Ittle Dew 2 feels more like the Zelda games of the past, just more puzzle-based and with definitely more intricate puzzles. Going from the Ittle Dew to its sequel, you can definitely see the difference in everything, from the graphics to the vast amount of weapons and items within the game, to the fluidity of the game play.
Story: 6
It doesn't have the best story, but the little bit that it does have is cute. It's just nothing to write home about.
Gameplay: 10
Now this is where the game shines, with some of the best thought-provoking puzzles I have seen in gaming, and a very good amount of weapons, items, and collectibles to find.
Controls: 10
Personally, I think the controls are perfect and, whenever you make a mistake, it really feels like it was your own fault.
Graphics: 8
Obviously, it's not going to be as graphically appealing as the big AAA games, but for an indie game, the graphics are nicely done.
Sound: 8
I just love the sound in indie games and this one is no different. I personally love the hard rock instrumental score in the later dungeons.
Replayability: 6
Compared to the first game, this is the only area it doesn't shine in, and that is because the original game had leader boards and was geared more for speed running.
Difficulty: 7.5
The difficulty of the game really depends on the player, because most of the game's difficulty comes from its puzzles, as most of them, you really have to think on your own to figure them out as they really can be very intricate.
Overall Rating: 7.9
Good game; I recommend it! The switch to an open world full of secrets with the same style as the top down zelda games was good, and it remained engaging to the end, though it was soured by lackluster rewards. I don't mind the lore, but the lock picks were always a disappointing find. Unlike the first, the focus of the second is on the combat rather than the puzzles, and it is really demanding on that regard. The combat heavily relies on I-frame rolls to avoid the majority of attacks, this is especially true for the bosses, which are a hit and roll type of fights rather than using a specific item to do damage or reveal weakness. I don't dislike this switch, but I wasn't in the mood for heavy combat game during release so this switch made me drop the game at that time. As for preference, I prefer the first, since I felt the gameplay was more creative and unique, compared to hit and roll found in the second, which is more replayable if but is less unique, especially in current year. 2+ update added to the game an additional content called the dream world, and an easy mode. I haven't tried the easy mode, but I believe it was made to allow people to play the game without the having to replay the harder bosses 20 times each. The dream world was the opposite to the entirety of the second game, where the emphasis was switched back to the puzzles, which I found to be very enjoyable and made me leave the game with a more positive note than I had previously.
Fun and actually difficult puzzles in the later game! Overworld was quite confusing at times and I wish the quick travel option would work a bit differently. Overall a great and funny experience!
Overall it's a 👍 if you've got the itch for a Zelda but want something more light-hearted. It's charming and the puzzles and exploration are fun, and it's a much bigger game than the first one. While the original Ittle Dew can be 100% completed in an afternoon, this one took me a good 10+ hours. However there seems to be more of an emphasis on combat this time and it's kind of crap. It's the type of combat where you'll just be tanking through a bunch of cheap shots and hoping that the enemies die before you do. It's not fun, and while it usually isn't SUPER challenging, a couple of the optional boss fights are just total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I wouldn't say it's annoying enough to ruin the game but it's definitely a mark against it. Also, much like the first game, the gamepad support is a bit crusty, so you might have to mess with Steam input a bit if you don't intend to play on keyboard.
Zelda-like game with a lot of (sometimes quite difficult) riddles and fights. You can turn the gameplay on easy mode which makes the boss fights easier. Over all I enjoyed it quite a lot, even though I needed the walkthrough for some of the harder puzzles.
A beautiful game similar to the 2D games in the series: (The Legend Of Zelda). I recommend this game.
Una buena continuación de su antecesor, más fácil en general pero con su dificultad al luchar con los jefes de turno, una dificultad que puede aumentar según lo manco que seas.. para pasar una tarde tonta te da de sobra.
