Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 10 → 4.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

easily my favorite game of all time. a beautiful story, gorgeous artstyle, and a perfectly immersive soundtrack. of course it has it's flaws, but my biggest issue is that there isn't more of it! absolutely, without a doubt, 110% worth playing.
"I Was a Teenage Exocolonist". Great title, isn't it? So we're doing a great exoplanet simulation game like Terraforming Mars? Nope, this is a "more-book-than-game" cringefest where the developers relate their interest in the sexual diversity of teenagers. The science-fiction backdrop is an afterthought and in many ways irrelevant to the "plot" of teenagers/children having romantic relationships across the gender spectrum. This is a Nintendo Switch ported "narrative" (clicking through endless cringey, borderline creepy romance stuff) "game", married to a clunky stat-juggling card battler. Designed primarily for kids (I think) using Nintendo Switches, not PC gamers, so this shouldn't be confused with a PC game. In a lot of ways this feels even more like it might as well be a mobile app. It's hard to describe this as a game, the focus is more like that of an e-book/visual novel, there's only minor, shallow and uninteresting gameplay elements. The crux of this is to push some very low quality, badly done fan-fiction tier writing, where we see once more a developer fail to understand the importance of "Show, don't tell", and for whatever reason, weren't able to convey their narrative through gameplay, giving us endless lines of badly written e-book text instead. My gaming rig is not a kindle. And, of course, the writing is terrible... pure, refined, high school anime club dropout cringe. Yes, it's LGBTQIA+ friendly, and there's nothing wrong with that (nobody hated Baldurs Gate 3 just because you had broad and diverse romantic choices), but the cringey writing is so badly done, hamfisted and awkward, you're likely to throw up. There's a basic rule of narrative, and that is, if the broadness of your character demographic IS your narrative, then you have no narrative. That largely holds true for this, the focus is purely on the author's fascination with the sexual diversity of children (ugh, creepy) and the rest of the backing plot is just nonsensical garbage. Now, there is a game here, despite all the godawful cringe e-book stuff, and it's bad, very bad. It's a basic card battler where unlock cards by experiencing memories of other people (I did tell you the writing is bad, right). There's exploration elements and tedious, annoying, and badly done stat juggling with far too many stats that you'll have zero care factor for. The exploration and card battling is just pure tedium... and that comes as a relief as you can escape from the stomach churningly awful e-book cringe. You're doing all of that just to juggle the stats around, and your reward for doing that is... yep, more cringe writing. Ugh. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. Because this is designed for handheld/portable gaming appliances, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the low power handheld gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the mobile game developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for low power handhelds forces upon a game. While this might run well on a Steam Deck, we must remember the vast majority of gamers here are gaming on PC. The graphics aren't great. The graphics are mostly 2D "baby's first Wacom tablet" illustrations plastered on a low poly environment, basic billboarding stuff. Fine and probably considered "amazing" on the Nintendo Switch, this looks incredibly lacklustre when compared to contemporary PC games, which this is not (yet here we are on Steam, for contemporary PC games). That will understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just point and click stuff like a browser/Flash game. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. Those technical issues put this game beneath what is expected from a contemporary, professionally developed PC game. Let's talk about pricing and the actual value this has for gamers. Is this game one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? I Was a Teenage Exocolonist has the cash grab price of $25 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Twenty five bucks for a Nintendo Switch e-book about gender diversity in children. There is no god. For comparison, the $25 asking price for this game could get you games like "Day-Z", "Rimworld" or "Crusader Kings III". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. There's enough defects and quality problems with this game that it's really impossible to recommend to gamers. If you like badly written e-books, you can get those on slash fiction sites on the web. If you like good e-books you can get them at Project Gutenberg. If you want decent card battlers/deckbuilders, try Slay the Spire, Hearthstone or Magic: Arena.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I am so glad I got this on a whim - a game that is both gentle and thoughtful, at times fun and at times getting me to think. I loved the writing, the characters, and the overall gameplay loop. I only wish, as another review mentioned, that the walking around was a bit less of a chore. An overall fantastic experience that moved me more than I could ever have imagined.
Every time I play a game that is even kind of emotional I always come back to remembering playing this game over and over. And it reminds me how much I love this game, and how much it frustrates me that there's nothing else that quite scratches the same itch. The story is phenomenal, the writing I love, the gameplay is engaging and entertaining. And I can't say much beyond this without getting into spoiler territory. But if you want a story-rich game that will absolutely tear your heart to pieces and make you feel good about it. Do yourself a favour and play this.
ONE IMPORTANT THING: This game has triggers that are not listed in its trigger warnings. It involves child abuse by trusted(ish) adults that happens because the kids parents aren't there, and the community that is supposed to be raising the kids repeatedly turns a blind eye to the abuse. This happens with at least two different children in the game. The game doesn't label it as abuse, because... both of the kids ask for it. It is also possible for the player to engage in a romantic relationship with one of the abusive adults, but you can't confront them about it (as far as I've found). You also can't stop the abuse of the children at an early age, you can only mitigate the damage later on with significant effort. With one character, the only way to save them from harm (that I've found) is to date them. Developers: Just because a child says they are okay with the abuse, or actively seeks out the company of the abusive adult, doesn't mean the abuse is okay or should be treated as a positive relationship. Full stop. Though I do appreciate there being the comparison of being able to (as a child) flirt with a functional healthy adult and have them shut you down as they should, to greater highlight the differences between good and bad adults. That being said, in general, this is a good game if you like card games, especially emotionally complex ones where no one is happy, no one believes children if they say anything at all, there is no such thing as real love (for the player), poly people are basic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or literal dogs, trad-relationships are physically abusive or soul mates (but not for you), and a ultra-liberal group child rearing leads to abuse and neglect for kids without parents. This game is a hardcore WTF, especially because it presents under the thin guise of a happy yay lib culture blanket of fake comfort only to bash you against the shores of grooming, abuse, death, suicide, and cruelty to animals then casually tosses you in the river of inescapable rejection.
I was really excited as this game was seemingly right up my alley. Strategy plus Dating Sim is one of my favorite combos. The art is absolutely gorgeous but the writing and gameplay are where this game truly suffers. The characters and story take a back seat to heavy-handed social and political commentary. Not in a way that these topics are used to explore the characters and choices but just stated, usually with little context. Player agency feels like an afterthought. The choices I made rarely felt like they mattered to the events taking place. And the gameplay itself was repetitive and exploration felt more like a chore than an exciting experience. I'm just overall disappointed. It might be the right game for the right person but as for me I regret buying this game and can't in good conscience recommend it.
I give it a 3/10. If you prefer super easy mini-game like parts, it may be an 8/10 for you. The game is supposedly a strategic deck building card game and a visual novel. Sadly it is mastering neither. I love strategic card games, but this one had me tire out of its gameplay after less than 2 hours of active play. The story and most characters didn't grasp me. Like one character died, but while I felt other characters being sad, I had no connection to that person, as we had way too little dialogue between eachother. (which may depend on early choices? idk.) So, I cared about one character only so far. The game would have been better as a pure visual novel. No tedious walk around and repetitive card game attached. The visuals are very pretty though, 10/10 on that.
