ainda bem que não sou solteira. que ódio que passei com a Jackie me dando ghosting. se um dia eu for solteira novamente, vou ser pro resto da minha vida depois desse jogo!!!!!
somehow i got gaslighted, ghosted and pulled into a pyramid scheme within 45 minutes of gameplay. 10/10 this is just like the real experience of dating apps.
Tender: Creature Comforts is a dating game where you play as a human who is on a dating app called Tender after a prior relationship recently ended. On this app, you can swipe left or right, like most dating apps we have in the real world while discovering and chatting with various alien (and non-alien) looking individuals. The gameplay consists of you simply looking through various profiles and swiping left or right. If you get a match, then you're able to chat with them with a selection of responses based on how you would react (or would want them to hear if you're into doing that). If you get past the virtual chatting portion, then you will go on actual dates with the person. If the date turns out well, then you have a chance at a second date, which will end the game. If it doesn't work out, well, you start this process all over again. Due to the gameplay, this game doesn't really have a story but has a ton of small different scenarios with each individual you can talk with. There are some genuine characters on here, as well, with the dating app classics like people swiping right on you and then instantly unmatching once you say something or sex bots. The writing is well done, and every person you interact with feels like the type of person you would actually come across on an actual dating app. However, I still have some issues with this game despite liking it. Due to this being an indie game, I think there are a lot of promising features that weren't able to be realized. One of the most disappointing things is that you don't see any visuals for your dates, and you are instead going on each date via a text-based interface. It functions exactly the same as the virtual chatting portion, but in this case, you just need to visually imagine what's going on rather than seeing it. Another disappointing portion of the game is that the number of people you can actually go on dates with is quite low, and your matches tend to repeat after swiping for a bit. There are plenty of people to talk to, but a lot of the options don't even have the ability for you to date them. I'm also not a fan of needing to do relationships I don't really care for in order to unlock certain achievements (ex. poly relationships or hooking up with someone who obviously doesn't really care about you), as I felt pretty uncomfortable with certain scenarios. Thankfully, all of the aforementioned issues are mostly minor gripes, as I found the majority of the game to be fairly enjoyable. This game doesn't overstay its welcome, and it provides you with the right amount of enjoyment with good time value for the cost. I recommend giving this game a try if you like the game's concept! (P.S. Time to tell my girlfriend I just finished playing a game that is basically a simulation of Tinder xddd)
i'm seemingly a masochist for this little subgenre of game. Tender: Creature Comforts is a visual novel, sure, but it's more than that. It's an expression of modern age dating, of mindless swiping and accounts built with no identity, colliding against the identity you're putting out there. It's of unrealistic standards, in both who'd swipe on you, and who you should be swiping on. But more than that, it's of fallibility; in how the people you match with are broken, or just not ready to commit. From singular dates, to singular words, you are never fulfilled at the start regardless of who you look for, in suffocation or too much space. But for those who you can continue with, you watch their flowers bloom, like cacti flowers in the desert, that past their prickly roots and rough upbringing, there is something that can be loved without pain. There are no genders, you go off of names and how people assign themselves. Most people look radically different, in species, tones and how they act. It's a cool way of expressing the different people you'd meet without locking you into gender choices, or our own personal vanities. Tender: Creature Comforts feels like it was designed to deliver a message and convey it with a range of emotions, and it does so successfully. I'd recommend going into this as blind as you can, with just you and yourself company, to experience both the loneliness, and then the warmth of finding whoever it is, who's right for you.
Dating Depression
Have you ever wanted to experience the stress and disappointment of dating apps, except none of the people you're talking to are real? Well now you can! All jokes aside, this game is a weird one. It's a visual novel style game, a genre of game that I've recently fallen in love with, but with the interface of a cell phone and dating app. You swipe left or right to match or ignore other profiles, and try to get 10 dates before you're removed from the dating site (And the world you're on, apparently). The art design is very basic and straight forward, and that's okay. The dates you get to have are backed by a calming track, and actually set the mood pretty well overall. The characters artwork is goofy in an endearing sort of way. It's a pretty pleasing game to look at, and the interactions with the UI feel pretty good. Where lies the issue I have with this game? Well, here's the thing. Many people have made similar comments like this, but this game is sort of eerie in how close it can feel to an actual dating app. The kinds of crazies, lack of responses and overall weirdnesses you've encountered on dating apps is here. If you get invested in story like I do, this can and will likely bother you and make you anxious. Feelings like this can be good in a game, like when story is involved. But in Tender, these feelings are put on the player in all the wrong reasons. I came back to this game very recently, having put roughly six hours in about a year or so ago. I went to play it, and had a date with a character who disappeared on me. It bothered me a bit, and I began to research the 100 percent walkthrough of this game. Here is what I came to, and ultimately what made me decide to quit the game. There are over 150 characters in the game. Over half of them (70+) will never match to you, and of the ones that do, about half of those (40ish) have a first date. That sounds like a decent number for sure, but think of it this way. Many characters exist as placeholders to give the illusion of options. A large chunk of the ones that match you just waste your time and don't have a dating option. So there are a minimum of about 40 first dates in the game. How many of those lead to a second date, and the possibility of an ending to the game? 6. That means 34 of the first dates will ghost/unmatch/friendzone you afterward. And you don't have an easy way of knowing who they are. Prepare to be disappointed, a lot. There are legitimately nice characters written in this game that will flat out lie or leave after date number one, and that's pretty harsh. You might be reading my review thinking "Who cares? Why should I be bothered by any of this? So what if the majority of characters don't have a date, or leave after the first one?" Let me put it this way. We already live in a world where connection and forming relationships is so challenging, and people are incredibly far away from each other in terms of love and empathy. Why would you want to subject yourself to that in a game? Honestly. I don't have every ending to this game, I only have two of them and I am aware of the rest. But of the two endings I do have, I didn't get that feeling of "This was worth the journey". Quite the opposite. If anything, this game is a representation of the dating atmosphere we deal with in modern culture. I think it's best to just know that, and not purchase this game. It's not worth the 10 dollar price to experience this depressing reality.
if you ever get nostalgic of dating apps and feeling the emptiness of missed connections, get this game. Oh, and monster boinking (unless you go for
your in-game ex
)
This game made me feel bad about myself, and I'll never download a dating app IRL. I love it. Ahah, oops, didn't read the "Toxic Relationship"-warning.
The game had an interesting concept but does not last. It's basically a simulation of real dating apps and it's done well in that regard. It's not a 'dating sim' in the traditional sense - quite the opposite actually. it's real life dating which means you are never getting to date the person. Main problems: - It's mrketed as 'monster dating' but the aliens behave exactly like human and there's nothing monster like about them except for the profile pictures. The stories are mundane and boring. - The character stories are too short and bland and not expanded the all. The ones with ending are a little longer but not much better. the designs were shallow, passable at best. The short dates were much worse. It's boring. - The endings weren't fleshed out at all - extremely boring and short. - No freedom in expressing self at all. Dialog options are extremely limited. Can't play this game for more than 90 mins. It's cute, but it felt like a demo. Not worth money imo it's more like the quality of a free project on itch.io
I had my hopes high because I really like dating sims, but this was just not a good experience, the game gives you several options as replies but none of them really give you the chance to be yourself or try to get to know the other person, you get unmatched cause you cant reply with nice things and when you finally get a date, the other person ghosts you or finds whatever reason they dont want to see you again, if this is what dating is like, I'm glad I never downloaded any dating apps in real life
