I've really enjoyed this! The game feels really impactful, the writing is very moving, and even in short scenes, you learn so much about characters, and see their motivations. I think this is a beautiful game that everyone should play at some point, expecially anyone who has dealt with grief. The protagonist has a really human struggle, between building their passion, and spending more time with the loved ones that surround them, so I kinda had to replay it and see the other route(s). The art is phenomenal, loved seeing portraits of the friends, and the way the monster is shown is truly something ethereal & magical! The music is so well done! I did cry playing the game and I think I will cry replaying it soon! I really reccommend this game, much love!!
Cried for most of it
This game perfectly captures the feeling of losing someone you loved so dearly that it's impossible to just "Move on" the way so many others insist. It portrays the growing concerns of friends, though it makes one mistake when it awards you the achievement "No Matter How You Howl". Creating something in the name of love and care for a loved one is not an inherent act of despair and self-destruction. And the completion of that creation is not, nor was it ever meant, to replace that person. Nor does everyone require therapy to see that. I will admit; This game grazed a wound I've been carrying for a decade. I'm 25 now, and I'm learning to grow around the vacancy left behind a loss of my own. Not akin to the one in the game, yet a loss regardless. Vivienne... I pushed her away because I couldn't handle the longing I felt for her, and the distance we'd have to close in order to connect. I did that out of survival, yet I regret it. However, I'm not consumed by it and not once have I gotten therapy or truly useful "Self Help" slop. I say this because I believe that the narrative requires some expansion. Beyond that, I think the "Friend Group" was annoying despite being necessary. I've pushed away all but one person in my life. Again, not from self-destructive desires. They just stopped fitting into my life. Moreover, their presences all reminded me of things that made me want to be truly destructive. Leaving them behind was, too, survival. I love this, and I love how it hurt me. Even if it wasn't completely accurate to what I needed to be hurt with. Thank you.
very beautiful
Paupoune - Indies Together
I have always wanted to make a monster.
Was not expecting to cry while playing this. Very beautiful
Short story. Very well done. Made me tear up. Grief is a ♥♥♥♥♥ man
