Voice acting in visual novels isn’t usually my thing, and it honestly made me hesitant, but it grew on me almost immediately. The cast’s performances really shine with Ms Meadows reminding me of my late grandma, and it didn’t take long before I found myself pulled in by the delivery and emotion behind each word of each character. This has one of the most charming art styles for it's 'simplicity', One highlight that pop into mind would be how memories were portrayed as scribbles, Almost like shattered fragments from old age or snapshots of a child perspective. It almost gives the story/memories a sense of fragility and nostalgia that works beautifully with the how the themes were portrayed. There are also so many lovely nods to women’s empowerment and obscure characters that may have been forgotten to me; the kind of figures I feel who might otherwise have been forgotten by many honestly. The way they’re woven into the narrative feels respectful and meaningful rather than heavy-handed, and it adds another layer of richness to the writing that is sooooo cute and wholesome Ms. Meadows quickly became a standout for me. Despite everything she’s done and accomplished, it’s the spark of an old friend acting as her catalyst that brings so much weight to her story. It’s a reminder of how even the strongest, And most self-sufficient people can still be touched or even broken down by a mere human connection and that kinda broke me What also impressed me most is how much depth the game manages to pack into it's very short playtime. Each character felt layered and complex without dragging on; the doctor being one of my favourite characters as well, each story almost intertwining in ways that I feel like will leave me thinking about them for a looooong time This was sooo heartfelt, memorable, and far richer than I thought, It left a bittersweet taste in the end, like tea! :)

Wholesome, educational, bittersweet story about tea, life, and growing old. It left me a lot to ponder about. A short and fulfilling game. I look forward to playing it again, to see the other endings!

A beautiful, heartwarming and thought-provoking experience. I got this game for the sweet granny and the cozy tea serving gameplay but stayed for the moving story and all the cool new bits and pieces of knowledge the game provided. I learned a lot about tea, philosophy, journalism, added a couple of books to my To Be Read list and got to debate the nature and necessity of suffering and ponder my personal interpretation of all that. This game gave me a lot of food for thought. I loved that every character had something to add to the overall story and a lesson for me to learn. Games that make me think are my favorite but the particular strength of this one is that it also makes you feel. I thought Ending 1 was heartbreaking enough but then the other two (especially Ending 2!) came for my heart. Tears were shed, lost older relatives were missed, important people were remembered. But a lot of smiles and positive emotions were had as well. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and enriching experience with some lovely voice acting and wonderful storytelling.

Why did a game about running a tea shop make me cry?

As someone who loves tea and the cozy charm of English-style tea shops, this game immediately caught my attention. I really connected with Matilda’s wisdom and the way each story and character felt unique,there’s a lovely sense of diversity that made the world feel alive. Matilda’s illness hit me on a personal level; the game beautifully captured the quiet loneliness and confusion that often come at night before sleep. It’s rare for a game to evoke that kind of emotional depth, and it really stayed with me. What I didn’t love as much was the replaying part I wanted to see all the multiple endings, but going through the same steps again got a bit repetitive. Maybe adding extra interactive props or different choices that slightly change the flow would’ve made that experience smoother. Sips and Sonnets is heartfelt, reflective, and quietly powerful a game that lingers like a cup of tea you didn’t want to finish too soon

this might be one of the best visual novel game i have ever tried if u are looking for a chill game dont go further story,art and music all of these are sides of the game has been well made has a slight technical issues but they are negligible overall the is a must try if u are in the mood for a good story and in a chill mood

Chill game, fully voice acted which is cool

A visual novel about an old lady running a tea shop, and of the stories of the people that visits her tea shop. The story is very engaging and informational at times, like how you can learn about tea and also a little about the cultures of tea in different parts of the world. The themes of the stories can get very deep, emotional and philosophical, but I think that's what makes this game good. The overall feel of the game is cozy melancholic for me, and it makes me think about things that I've never thought of before [spoiler] there are a lot of themes I like in the game, one of them is where Ms. Meadows says about looking in the mirror but discovering a stranger staring back at you[/spoiler] I also like the poems in the game, all of the poems are very good, and you can also sort of craft your own poem (well you just sort of pick which word goes where and you can chose the themes and not really make your own but still!) The art style is comforting to look at, and the voice over is amazing, though the voices are too low for me that I had to max the volume on my PC in order to hear the voices clearly Overall the game may take around 2-3 hours to finish, but it depends on your reading speed, maybe you can finish in like 1 hour if you just read fast and didn't really listen to the voices. There are 3 different endings you can get depending on your choices so replayability is there [spoiler]the ending where Ms. Meadows lost her memories is super sad, and also the part where she discovers that she forgot about her friend's passing SOBS[/spoiler] One slightly negative thing about the game is that there is no option to skip, so if you're trying for achievements it will take some time to go through the game again Otherwise this is a very good game, and I'd recommend it even if it's not on sale. 10/10!

A sweet lovely little game. As I am close to the main character's age, I felt a sort of connection. This game is perfect to play as a wind-down for the end of the day or at night before going to bed.
