Don't mess with Rick (90s Beat 'em Up)
Step into the golden era of the arcade brawler. Kicked out of his own mob family, Rick is on a bloody quest for revenge across four grueling stages. This isn't just button-mashing; master a deep combat system featuring combos, clinches, parries, and counterattacks. Fill your super meter to unleash screen-clearing special moves as you fight through replicant ninjas, rabid dogs, and massive bosses.
Crescent Moon (Sci-Fi Shoot 'em Up)
A fast, frantic, horizontal bullet hell. The cosmic tyrant Trixion is invading, and you are the only defense. Memorize environmental traps, collect and swap between five distinct weapon types, and utilize support pods to survive. Built for high-score chasers: master the "No-Miss" multiplier system and dodge your way to the top of the leaderboards.
Heist of the Ninja (83' stealth arcade)
Experience classic single-screen arcade tension! Play as Koji the Ninja in an alternate-1983 heist. Navigate tightly guarded rooms, jump obstacles, and dig through furnishings for hidden loot. Use your shurikens wisely, outsmart the guards, and secure the treasure without triggering the alarm.
Peng Peng (Co-Op precision platformer)
Don't let the cute aesthetic fool you—Peng Peng is built for casuals, speedrunners, and hardcore score-catchers alike. Wipe out monsters across four worlds to rescue the kidnapped Frost Orb. Play solo or grab a friend in Local Co-Op. Will you rush to the end for a speed bonus, or meticulously clear enemies for maximum points?
I would like to see more projects like this. It is evident that this title reflects a lot of passion from people who grew up with video games from the '80s and '90s, and you can see it in every pixel. For the price at which it is sold, I find it to be a must-have for those of us who have reached a certain age, but I would also recommend it to those fortunate enough to be a few years younger but unfortunate not to have experienced the great era of arcades. It almost feels like a historical reconstruction of that time: in the four titles, all genres that made video game enthusiasts dream all over the world are covered: platformer, one screen games, shoot 'em ups, and beat 'em ups. Personally, I got passionate about 2 games in particular: Heist of Ninja and Don't mess with Rick. It feels like I'm reliving the same emotions with the games I got passionate about as a child in arcades, finding many fun references. In short, highly recommended. If I have to find one point for improvement, it would be in some choices of certain sound effects that I hope can be improved with future patches. I was also intrigued by the demo of Fantasy Network; it seems that these classics are indeed part of a larger world that I wouldn't mind seeing on the store soon!
Title: A Hidden Gem for Retro Gamers! I stumbled upon Holua's Arcades, and boy, am I glad I did! As a retro gamer, the concept of a virtual arcade room really piqued my interest, and this game does not disappoint. The quality of the individual arcade games within this collection is truly impressive. First off, the beat 'em up game immediately transported me back to the days of Double Dragon and Dragon Ninja. The ability to parry attacks and counterstrike adds a layer of depth that keeps you engaged and on your toes. It's a nostalgic trip with a modern twist, and I'm loving every moment of it. The arcade platformer, on the other hand, feels like a delightful blend of Bubble Bobble and Snow Bros. It's the kind of game that starts with a simple "one more round" mentality, but before you know it, you've spent hours at it. It's addictive in the best way possible. Moving on to the shooter game, it harks back to classics like R-Type, but with a level of intensity that would make it right at home on a supercharged Sega Megadrive. The gameplay is smooth, and the boss fights are epic. You'll find yourself coming back for more challenges. I haven't had a chance to dive into the ninja game yet, but if it's anything like the others in this collection, I'm in for a treat. In summary, Holua's Arcades is a hidden gem that all retro gaming enthusiasts should uncover. The games are not only well-crafted but also offer a fantastic blend of nostalgia and innovation. If you're looking for a way to relive the arcade experience from the comfort of your own home, look no further. This is an absolute must-try!
XUnity.
This collection has some charm on the surface, but bad controls and clunky mechanics land this squarely in “you don’t need to play this” territory.
Kinda silly collection of arcade games that are ok enough to have fun with. Also has more than the arcade games in it
This came out from nowhere and for a retro dude like me (and my cab) it was such a surprise. Games are pretty and definetely worth the price, perhaps with a little more care they could have been sold on their own. They're loaded with vibes from a lot of classics like Snow Bros., Gradius, Two Crude Busters, Mappy and so on. The brawler is the most well done and my fav one atm, loved the cutscenes. The ninja also has a very solid gameplay. The high resolution platformer part looks just fine by feels a little forced, although luckily you don't have to play it very often. The arcade room mechanics need to be a little clearer to me. And hopefully they will add the controls rebinding.
Decent collection
These kind of product that aims to recall the feel of the old arcade games don't always hit the spot but this one actually does. It's made with love and knoledge and despite all the flaws this is definitely an experience worth trying I suggest playing it not only to the arcade hera nostalgic but to eveyone who wants to try something particular and interesting (Furthermore is cheap)
