Fantastic little gem! So much care put into every little detail.
not as good as it may seems at first , movements and shooting are not always responsive as it should be art is pleasant but still a little flat but that's personal and secondary considering that it's not even a long game this is only for fans or curious (but on deep sale) also it's kinda new (2022) so I did expect something more funny until i reached the end i was bored with the game so it's a no in my case sorry
This game is really fun so far! I like using gun as a weapon and as a tool for platforming as one. It's really fun to jsut pogo around and move around obstacles. Level design is really solid, built well around the idea of mentioned mechanic. The boses are good climax to a level and have been a fun challenge. Overall this a really well made game and I wonder how it ends.
Interesting Megaman-like shooter. A big plus is a beautiful graphic, reminding me of old classics like Ristar.
Omegabot is a mediocre game through and through. There is nothing that truly stands out, most things are okay. Some bad. The sad thing is that the game has a bunch of good ideas but never really goes through with it. Like the increasing drops that never really adds anything, or the 4 weapons that aren’t really as useful as they sound, because one of them is overpowered. Also, there are some quality-of-life things that are lacking. The game isn’t bad, but in an oversaturated market, it also isn’t anything you need to play.
I'm glad I was gifted this, because I would've asked for a refund if I didn't. With so many quality indie platformers on Steam, even ones made by a single person, I can't recommend this game in good conscience. It's ugly, it's boring, the story is bad, the boss fights are very tedious and not challenging. Having such a short time to fire before your shots weaken, even after upgrades is such an awful design. If you really need your Mega Man fix, go play an actual Mega Man game or better yet, go play a good Mega Man fangame, which won't cost you anything and will still be more enjoyable than OmegaBot.
Good and simple platformer , had a good time playing it. Had some graphics issues but nothing that hindered the gameplay. A good game that scratch that retrogame itch and I’ll give it a B.
Based on first impressions it's a real shame this game hasn't done a little better. I do wish it had controller support, the store page says it does but it didn't detect my ps4 controller. Maybe others have had better luck with other controllers. That said, keyboard controls are set up pretty well though not able to be rebound. Movement feels great, the tidbits of story there are feel surprisingly dark for the cute pixel art. Overall it seems like a great game and I doubt my opinion will change as I continue to play :)
First thing you'll notice, the game only supports a specific resolution in a window or fullscreen. No inbetweens. It does have controllersupport and soundsettings, but thats it. Pretty simple stuff, but it doesn't really need much more. You can't customize your buttonlayout, gotta do that through Steam itself. I would have prefered different resolutions as I usually play my games in a 1600x900 window. The game itself is pretty simple but cute. When firing your weapon, you get a knockback, which feels nice when firing downward to drop down slower or get a tiny bit higher of a jump! But when firing up, you'll have backwards knockback as if you're firing forward? That doesn't make any sense, there should be no knockback in that case imo. I would also really like a map, or level select? Anything? Something that helps me collect everything. There is an achievement for all the yellow eyes collected. I am missing one eye. Why do I have to play through the entire game again, if I missed it somewhere at the end? Let me pick a level and show me in which level something is missing. I don't want to play games twice, I want to be able to collect everything in a single savefile. The gameplay is fun enough so I wanted to play through it all once and while the bosses aren't that easy, they're still pretty simple once you've got their pattern down. I'd say they have a liiittle bit too much health, because even if you do know what to do and do it perfectly, it'll still take a pretty long time. The last boss is the best boss in this game and that one deserves to take as many hits as it does imo! Was a nice challenge and a fun fight!
Very satisfying shooter / platformer and I have played hundreds. :)
