Loved the game!
Cozy!
Very nice and juicy graphics paired with great sound. The ball bouncing gameplay made me chuckle whenever the balls went on a big spree! Nicely polished game.
Neat game, worth it on sale for sure.
Needs more content, depth, and/or game modes. But it's definitely good.
Cool game. Very addictive.
trying to get the black hole world record will make you lose your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mind
买断制的打砖块小游戏,看弹珠弹来弹去好解压。 美术风格很漂亮,简约又流畅。 点点右下角的小白还会叫你同志。
Wish I could give it a Meh. The game is OK but overpriced, even on sale at 50% off. Maybe it would be worth it at 75% off or more. The core gameplay mechanic is simple but relatively fun. Music/sound effects/design/visuals are nice. There is a system for leveling up and increasing abilities, but it doesn't change the mechanics in any interesting way. Instead of taking 5 hits to break a brick, it now takes 10 and you can shoot more balls than before. That's basically it. The only real strategy/puzzle element is that some blocks can fall and be destroyed if you destroy the other blocks holding them up. Maybe more mechanics are added later but I got bored half way through the second area because it was just more of the same. I didn't play co-op so I can't comment on that. The dev's other games look alright, so maybe I'll check them out if they go on sale for even less. Update: Played through to the end after the initial review and I still think it's overpriced and that adding some mechanics may improve things. Anyway, recommended on sale.
I know I don't have a ton of playtime on Steam yet, but I'm leaving a review anyway because I've finished and re-finished this game multiple times on mobile and Switch. This is (subjectively!) the best shoot balls at things game I've ever played, the peak of simplicity and style. Everything from the spacey soundtrack to the way balls start to turn the game's signature shade of reddish purple as they speed up and burn out makes it just sort of delightful to play. That said, this was originally a *mobile* puzzle game lovingly handcrafted by an experienced indie developer and a couple of collaborators. As such, the game will typically be completed in a handful of hours at most. That's a shame, because like I said, this is the best shoot balls at things game I've ever played. I would love to have more new and exciting locations in which to shoot balls at things beyond what the game has already. Despite my desire for more levels, though, it's fairly priced. I'm glad to support the developer in anticipation of whatever he might release next! And I think if you have the right expectations for how long Holedown is going into it, you're more than likely to enjoy it.
