Jack Keane 2 - The Fire Within Pros: -Graphics are clean and lacking in glitches -Jack Keane with a beard looks kinda like one of the Beatles -A few exciting set-pieces -Contains four delicious banana recipies -Depending on your choices, certain puzzles WILL change. Characters actually acknowledge the alternate order of actions. -"What the hell? Where did I get this sponge?" -Dream sequences are imaginative. Cons: -You often end up doing things and combining items without knowing why. This isn't always because the puzzles are overly obtuse but because the game routinly let's you START solving a later puzzle before you can FINISH it. -You start to wonder why the dialog is so hard to hear during animated cutscenes. -All characters share the same talking animations and there are only about five of them total. The characters also lack emotion both in face and sometimes in dialog. -The running and jumping is HORRID. Simple puzzles are made infuriating by needing to jump on a box. -Fisticufts are slow, tedious, and just boring. -Since the camera tracks the current character, important items are sometimes well offscreen forcing you to run around hunting for them. Overall: 3.5/10 Hilarious for how not-good and ALMOST good it is.

Even though Jack Keane 2: The Fire Within has some issues with its controls and features a relationship idea that isn’t fleshed out, the time you spend with Jack and his chums is no doubt enjoyable and manages to hit most of the right notes for a point-and-click game. It moves at a steady pace without interrupting the player much with mystifying puzzles, which is helped by the fact that they can be solved without having to think up inconceivable solutions. Jack Keane 2 might not be the smashing excellence in the genre that The Walking Dead was praised for last year, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give Jack Keane 2 a try if you like a bit of delightful comedy in your adventure games.

(Developer) The editor of this two-parter probably thinks us players are completely stupid. At least those who don't come from English-speaking countries. After I discovered a Trojan in the installation in the first part, see link, and I of course warned you about it, the second part is now also coming onto the market in German. However, this is “fake”. There is no setting option in the menu to play the game in German. In addition to the many negative reviews that already exist, another one is now being added. TLDR: An incredibly boring story coupled with uninteresting puzzles and bland characters. Not even recommended on a sale unless you are truly desperate for a point and click adventure game. Long Version: You play as Jack, a Indiana Jones wannabe with commitment issues and his ex-girlfriend Amana who is... ehm... his ex-girlfriend? Other than a temper and an affinity for firearms she is not given much more character. They are searching for an item that should not fall into the bad guys hands. I'm not entirely sure if they were trying to throw in as many clichés as possible as some kind of joke, but it would not surprise me. Unfortunately the joke falls a bit flat. The puzzles were mostly the bog standard item using variety coupled with an incredibly basic puzzle fighting system where you always have to learn a new move to win. I assume you eventually get to have to use it in a more puzzling sense but I never got that far because frankly, Jack Keane 2 is dull. So dull in fact that when the game offered a choice to take the money and run - which results in the game ending and you being given the choice to make another choice, I took the money and gladly declined to change my mind. It seemed a far better alternative than to spend more time with these characters and their inane quest. As a remember I had a somewhat nice time with Jack Keane 1, so I would probably recommend getting that one instead if you can get it cheap. Jack Keane I bought on a sale and I still don't think I got my money's worth.

An amusing game, if you are amused by awful controls, abhorrent jumping mechanics, buggy camera, puzzles that you solve without knowing why, dull story, and unfunny jokes. Other than that, it's rather unamusing.

I honestly wanted to like this game, but it felt more like a chore to finish the game. Didn't enjoy it much. There were few nice moments, but terrible controls, bad voice acting and average story and jokes killed it for me. I would think twice before buying the game.

The praise: -very good A+ graphics, environments and character modelling (Amanda's bosom gaddahmn) -nice cinematic music -romance dialog choices that leads to different endings -elephant bug in the savannah (it suddenly started to move elephant in the background same as Jack moved, absolutely hilarious) The nag: -short -too easy, almost a visual novel... -...and bad at that, very badly executed story, things just happen, sometimes just skipping ahead -buggy, crashy and performance issueshy -fighting 'puzzles' -jumping, there's a short animation warm-up that makes it very hard to get where you want, maybe they tried to make realistic jump? -irritating voice usage, sometimes overlapping, sometimes too much repetition -random voice levels in dialog This wasn't all horrible, actually an OK point and click snack but NOT recommended at full price.

pros ✅ gorgeous looking, colorful and detailed 3 D background graphics ✅ game's story which i believe inspired from İndiana Jones (or The Goonies) fast pacing, action packed and exciting ✅ Jack's character development throughout the game ✅ there are three switchable playable character. they are funny and entertaining ✅ good looking character models ✅ there are some enjoyable puzzles. there are also inventory puzzles you can combine some items ✅ there is auto save ✅ nice musics which fits to game's action atmosphere ✅ well made cinematic cutscenes ✅ there is a in game button which highlights pickable items ✅ there are plenty of different, interesting and exotic locations ✅ lengthy adventure cons ❌ disorienting fixed 3D camera mechanics and frustrating controls ❌ awkward pathfinding ❌ two female characters are basically naggy and one dimensional female stereotypes and there is also outdated and sexist approach to them. ❌ too many obscure puzzles with nonsensical solutions and therefore most of time you don't know what's supposed to do. i recommended to play this game with a walkthrough ❌ hotspot indicator only shows objects that are in your current camera view and it doesn't reveal exits or items and that causes some pixel hunting ❌ voice acting hit and miss. i can say voice acting pretty bad most of time ❌ there are no steam achievements ❌ game doesn't drop cards Overall this is an decent and typical old school point and click adventure game which reminds old classics like Monkey İsland. i quite enjoyed and i really recommended those who like to play old school adventures games.

Jack Keane 2 Fire Within é um point and click moderninho que se destaca ao proporcionar uma liberdade de movimento incomum para o gênero, permitindo você usar as teclas WASD para navegar livremente pelo cenário, incluindo até movimentos como pulo. Essa liberdade deixa a experiência bem mais dinâmica e divergente do padrão tradicionalmente associado aos jogos do gênero, que geralmente se limitam a trajetórias pré-determinadas controladas apenas pelo mouse. Mas apesar de toda modernidade, o jogo não está isento de alguns velhos problemas recorrentes e bem conhecidos especialmente entre os fãs do estilo, como alguns enigmas que apresentam soluções pouco razoáveis ou carecem de pistas claras, levando os jogadores a perderem tempo tentando adivinhar as próximas ações. Essa falta de clareza é um pé no saco e acaba deteriorando a fluidez da campanha, devido aos constantes engasgos. Por outro lado, os diálogos são muito bons e se apresentam sempre muito bem construídos, diversificados e repletos de abordagens humorísticas. Eles são certamente a melhor parte do jogo, contribuindo significativamente para a atmosfera leve e descontraída da aventura. Outro elemento interessante é a abordagem curiosa nas lutas, onde o jogador escolhe cartas com movimentos predefinidos. Com essa dinâmica, para ficar mais forte você precisa conseguir mais cartas para o seu baralho, dentre as quais se incluem movimentos inusitados como o Super Golpe do Pisão no Pé, proporcionando uma experiência de combate diferente e nada séria. Existem alguns momentos em que você precisa tomar decisões durante a campanha que dão a entender existirem ao menos dois finais diferentes, mas eu acabei seguindo mesmo sempre na linha da Amanda do início ao fim, e não consegui achar na Internet informações sobre o final alternativo com a Eve, de modo que eu não sei se isto é realmente possível. Em resumo, Jack Keane 2: Fire Within oferece uma aventura envolvente e bem-humorada, mas sua experiência poderia ser aprimorada com pistas mais claras para os quebra-cabeças. Ainda assim, a boa qualidade dos diálogos e a possibilidade de soluções alternativas contribuem para tornar o jogo atraente, apesar de alguns obstáculos em seu caminho. BOM (7/10).

Nettes Adventure mit Steuerungsmacken, für kleines Geld wird man hier einige Stunden unterhalten. Die deutsche Synchronisierung finde ich sehr gelungen, einige bekannte Sprecher sind mit von der Partie. Bin eigentlich auch nur durch den derzeitigen Mangel an guten Adventures darauf gekommen es zu spielen.
