This is very aesthetically pleasing, relaxing and polished game. But it feels too grindy. I was expecting some new mechanics that would put a new twist on the core gameloop as you progress. Nope. it's all just incrementally bigger numbers on the blocks. For $10, there's just not enough to do. This would be a perfect $3 game.
10 bucks for 5 hours? I don't like that value proposition too much.
The concept and core gameplay of this game is fantastic and the presentation is super smooth. That said, the lack of content is really fatal for any hope that I could recommend this. You get to the final level really quickly. Another review said 5 hours but I'm pretty sure it took me much less than that. After that all you have to do is to try and get a high score on a very boring endless mode. I stuck with it for a long time but that was mostly because of how easy it was to pick up and the fact that I had very little else to play at the time. It's kind of felt like drawing blood from a stone ever since I beat the final level. For this price point there's loads of other puzzle games you can get that have far more content in them. Albeit none of them scratch the same itch this game does, which is why I'm honestly more disappointed than I ordinarily would be. If they released a substantial expansion to this game to add extra content it might be worth it, but as it stands you'll get bored pretty quickly.
I recommend it, BUT from the levels to the upgrades and the types of balls (only one) and blocks, everything feels bland. Still it's a fun game. Wait for a sale. Oh! and Clippy's alien cousin is constantly there.
GENIAL !
it's a game where you bounce balls off of walls. as you play you unlock upgrades to get more balls, more shots, and harder planets. the music is fun, but the gameplay is mostly just choosing an angle and watching balls bounce around. i think the game would sell way better for $5 than it will for $10
The End Game is lacking, no way to increase your ball count any higher than 100. and just feels stale after that. If there were some mods for it, where I could maybe change the ball size, or increase the ball count. that would be a lot of fun.
oh it bounce! good!
Holedown is a relaxing puzzle game that blends elements of Tetris, Breakout, Puzzle Bobble, and billiards, offering smooth progression and a delightful focus on perfecting each shot. Sometimes the ball returns on the same path, causing frustration or laughter, while other shots bounce around unexpectedly and end up even better than planned, making the experience both tense and rewarding.
